Fukki n love this place — even though we have to sit on the benches bc there place was fully booked — yet not a single table was occupied and it was 545… But whatever, pesto chicken meatballs + beet salad + butternut squash + kale salad made us happy

Is Birba up to Omero in Florence? Non veramente. Is it a pleasant, cheerful spot? Si. It is mostly outdoor seating with heaters. Its like Cabo san Lucas met Bethseda, MD on Tinder and made a love child in Palm Springs. The Vibe: Buzzy by dinner. Mostly tourists and locals who gave up waiting at Cheeky’s for breakfast next door or don’t want to blow their entire Social Security check at Mamma Gina’s. The Staff: Friendly and willing, if a little confused now and then. Well, it was busy. Our server brought the wrong entrée and the wrong dessert but the right check. No biggy. She was a very nice person and was workin’ hard to please. The joint was jumpin’ and slingin’ noodles here is not the ultimate career choice anyway. The Bar Program: Bring your own, in a flask. There is a fair wine list, and brews on the handle. The mixed cocktails? All the standards and mostly good to drink for effect. Nothing fancy, nothing made well enough to recommend. IL Mangiere(the food): Supposedly house and hand made. Friends, Romans and Countrymen, lend me your pasta. The Orrecchiette with house made sausage, broccolini, and chili flakes sounded just right. The sausage went through the meat grinder two times too many and was a crumble instead of flavorful chunks.(Think Shakey’s.) The«little ears» were nicely al dente with some broccolini shreds and a dusting of chili flakes. If you need carbs before the Tour D’Palm Springs bike event, make that two orders. The Cauliflower was a stand out. A whole beast as big as Broca’s brain. Steamed and then broiled with a parmesan cheese, garlic and bread crumb topping. Good enough to make me a Vegan… at least here. The wood fired chicken was a simple rustic dish. Did it remind me of the signature roaster at the Zuni Café? Not close. Brined first? Nope. Dry? Flirting with it. But in the end I did not feel like someone gave me the bird. The skillet Lasagna with Duck Ragu was rich, tasty, and even if it was a youth size it was a solid choice. Just Desserts: Nothing made in house or worth bothering with. Head down the street for ice cream. There was a Semifreddo Key Lime Pie riff with Graham Cracker Nut Crust and frozen whipped cream welded to the top. The good news is you could pry off the whipped cream in one solid slab easily enough. The Almond Cake with Berry Coulis was forgettable but if you require a cookie after dinner its as close as you will get. Birba. Eat here. Have a burpa and think elsewhere next time.

Went the week before Christmas when it was very cold in the desert. All seating is outside but with all the space heaters and fire pits, we had a comfortable dinner. Service was quick and efficient. We had a variety of items including a pasta, pizza, and roasted chicken. The pizza had good ingredients but wasn’t in the oven long enough, it was doughy and wet. They had a nice bottle of red for under $ 30. Overall the food and ambience are good.

The service and setting were lovely, it is a beautiful place. Unfortunately the food was EXTREMELY disappointing! –We had a few things hard to mess up and still we found ourselves having tasteless bland food. We had the chilled veggies and wedding soup as appetizers and the roasted chicken and orecchiette. Overall a disappointing experience due to the food quality, their service is good and the restaurant is beautiful, unfortunately that is not enough.

Birba is about my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. I have been there a good many times. The kale salad is excellent, but the oxtail dish was one of the best entrees I have ever tasted. The pizzas are not bad at all, but have trouble keeping pace with some of the other offerings. Cocktails are also not bad, but I think the strong wine list might prove the better companion to a meal there.

Not sure how this place gets 4 stars? My wife and I arrived on time for our 7:00 reservation and were seated promptly. Manager was very gracious and our server J was efficient, helpful and courteous. Ordered the chopped salad and chicken meatball soup which came out in a timely manner — portions are barely enough for one — the salad had roasted slices of garlic which leave a bad lingering aftertaste imo. Had to send the soup back — was barely lukewarm. Ordered the Serrano chile green olive pizza and there must be a shortage of both because I could only find two or three pieces per slice. The ambiance and service were fine but why bother going out if the food is no better than what you could make at home? One and done!

Had dinner last night with my family Started with kale and beet salad and a grilled artichoke with olive oil, Parmesan cheese and bread crumb topping. Both were excellent. They have wood fire oven pizza. We tried 3 different ones The Margherita with mozzarella and fresh basil. Very average only thing we didn’t love. The homemade sausage mushroom and onion. This one was really great. fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly . The 3d was their San Daniel prosciutto and arugula. This was the best of the 3. Lots of prosciutto and fresh arugula . The atmosphere here is great the people are really nice.

The Cauliflower & brussel sprouts were ridiculously amazing. Wow! Really nice atmosphere. Heaters all throughout. We sat outside and it was cold, but we were warm.

The service was slow and our waitress seemed like she ignored us despite a relatively light crowd. She left mid-meal because the restaurant was slow(her words) and we experienced even worse service after. We were charged $ 3 for four slices of bread, which ended up being just«toast points,» actually just some lightly toasted pita bread. Our entrees were disappointing. The gnocchi had no sauce and seemed overcooked. The lasagne bolognese was greasy, heavy, and also overcooked. We liked the salads and the pizzas. The wine was good too, but none of it was enough to overcome the service. We left quickly. My family insisted that I write this review to make sure our experience was publicly documented.

First time coming to Birba, and of course there are pros and cons. Depending on what you’re looking for out of the night this place may or may not be it. For a couple drinks, a great atmosphere && a friendly staff this is it. But I wouldn’t suggest a sit down dinner expecting marvelous food. This place is really busy! So food arriving to your table is a little bit of a wait. Food is alright. But the staff is great!

Family style dining is encouraged. The six of us shared two thin crust pizzas, one pasta dish, the nonna meatballs, two side veggies, and two desserts. Just enough. We all thought the whole roasted cauliflower was very good as well as the chicken balsamic pizza. 100% outdoor patio seating so dress appropriately. Friendly efficient staff.

We came to dinner here after a wedding of a friend. The atmosphere is super cool, we were able to sit outside. The food was great as well — we could share a bunch of items or we could have our own food. When we first got there, we kept getting more and more people joining our party. When I first asked the hostess she was super rude about it. After that, we worked with a kind gentleman who was super accommodating!

Apparently this is the place to go in Palm Springs. It was packed when we went there on a Friday night. We didn’t have reservation & the wait was 2 hours. Fortunately there is the front area which is more for having cocktails at. Our party didn’t mind sitting at the long low table. Our waitress was great! She was attentive and had a variety of useful suggestions. The bartender was apparently the most popular person as it took forever to get drinks. I don’t eat pasta that often, and it’s rare to find a place that makes their own pasta. The pesto pasta was awesome. It was not heavy at all, and had a citrus flavor. Everyone enjoyed what they had which were mainly the pasta dishes & one who had the tonno, which she liked. It’s a bit pricey. Pasta, and 2 drinks was $ 50 per person.

Earlier this summer they were closed for the season. Bummer as I’ve been wanting to go forever. I’m a huge Cheeky’s fan so I have been in the know forever about this place. Finally they are back open. I opted for the fig, goat cheese, argula pizza and it was outstanding. the balsamic really adds to the fig/cheese and the argula adds a bit of peppery kick. Great crust! The only downfall was the service. My table was ignored for a good 15 minutes and we were JUST about to get up and go when finally someone came over. We would’ve ordered more wine, but nobody ever came around. Great food, but not the best service I’ve had.

This was one of our best dining experiences in Palm Springs. We had checked into our hotel and it was difficult to find a restaurant that was open late. When we stopped in to check the menu, we were treated with such friendly, welcoming service and liked the restaurant so much that we had to stay. This is a gorgeous restaurant. All outdoors, it’s lit romantically with lights strung from the trees and candles on the tables, benches on pillows, and is just dreamy overall. The perfect experience while on vacation. We started with cocktails. Chad ordered the special(dark rum, lime, and coconut milk) and I went with the vodka-based Hello Nancy. My drink was too sour for me and his too sweet for him, so we traded and then loved our drinks. There is a full bar and a good variety of(mostly Italian) wines. Our server explained that Birba prepares as much food as possible in-house, and everything they use comes from a 100-mile radius of PS and as local as possible. They cure their own meats, pull their own pasta, make their own sausage, everything. You can immediately taste the difference in freshness in the first bite… the gnocchi was hand-cut and unbelievably soft and tender, and the vegetables were full of flavor. We shared the wood-fired Four Seasons Pizza, which was 2 slices of each: ham, pepperoni, ricotta, and mushroom, and the gnocchi. It was more than enough food for us and everything was incredible. I loved this restaurant and would love to go back for a sunset dinner. We recommended it to everyone we met at our hotel!

This review is for Birba the Coffee Garden. So, Birba is connected to adjoining Cheekys. If you happen to come to Cheekys you will know there is a long wait and you can wait here at Birba. While waiting you are encouraged to enjoy a cup of coffee or a cocktail from the full bar. The Coffee Cart is managed by a nice woman who makes what you want to order. I ordered a iced Americano, nice and strong, cold and refreshing. Just what you need to wake you up on a hot Palm Springs morning(or whenever you roll out of bed). The location is amazing. Beautiful greenery in this open air lounge. Sparse tables(just enough to not be crowded), and very comfortable lounges chairs and benches. Great place. FYI — When you list yourself for a table at Cheekys, put a B next to your name so theyll know you are at Birba waiting.

One of the coolest bars in Palm Springs. (review for bar only) We came across this place while waiting for brunch at Cheeky’s next door. The seating area is crazy cute. Bench seating all around with pillows and blankets make it super comfortable and trendy. The hubs is usually not a fan of «trendy» places but he totally liked this one. The bartenders are so frendly and make some awesome drinks.(& the pour– HELLO!) This place definately on the list of places to bring all of my out of town visitors. I will definately be back to see what the bites & nightlife are like here.
