3 stars because the drinks were awesome but the service was ehhh. My fiancé & i went there last night & the 2 bartenders that were there didn’t even say anything… so we just figured to seat ourselves. We grabed our own menu since no 1 was attending to us. Waited 15 – 20 min then 1 of the bartenders finally came up to us. Mind you, it was not busy. We were already looking for another place to go after we got our drinks because we did not like the vibe at all. Felt weird & awkward.

Always a fun time at Bootlegger. Staff always friendly, helpful and knowledgable about their drinks. Order the False Idol that comes in the cute parrot tiki mug… You won’t regret it!

Loved it! Great drinks and service ! But most of all I loved the music selection. My boo and I had visited a couple of other bars and the music was drab or karaōke… I decided to Unilocal bars in the palm spring arena and this place made our trip worth its while ! Can’t stand the heat but I’ll come back to the Tiki!

Server tells us a different price than what was charged for a huge group tab, punch bowl is not good(we drink, this sucks), won’t split the $ 100 tab on a bowl between the 10 of us… Bad service & unhappy drunk people… Skip this spot kids

Cool little tiki bar(attached to an espresso stand!) with a classic, dark interior but also outdoor patio seating. Fun tiki drinks — the Pod Thai is fantastic! Huge expansive tiki menu and some snacks. And if you drink too much there is always coffee next door!

Small, dark tiki bar that serves nice, smooth drinks with great service. I can’t stop drinking their refreshing cocktails.

This place is amazing. Strong tiki drinks prepared artfully. Dark and lovely inside, with an outdoor patio if you want fresh air. You just have to go and check it out. No need for me to say any more than that. If I could, I’d be there right now.

Got here right at 4pm when it opened to get our tiki drinks on. Glad we did because the small bar was almost full. The ambiance was so cool, dark, and casual. The server was very busy, but completely efficient. We got our delicious tiki cocktails in no time, and boy were they good! Extremely cool bar with great drinks, you should go!

I think I’ve found my favorite bar in Palm Springs! They have such a big drink menu which is great. I ordered the Mango Unchained, it was delicious if you’re into something not too sweet.

Give this place a big swerve and pass it by. This is not a tiki bar, in fact after 20 minutes of waiting with only 2 other customers, I couldn’t get a drink, so I’m not truly certain it’s a bar at all. Tried to order a basic Mai Tai and was immediately told«it does not come with Absinthe» Um, Yeah, it never does was my response. I was then told I had to wait for a drink specialist to handle any tiki drink orders. Oh please, just stop, you’ve named yourself the«Bootlegger Tiki» you should be capable of making basic tiki cocktails. I’m disgusted you’ve bothered to try at all to be a bar. Basic 101 bartenders can make at least 6 tiki themed drinks. No music at bar, only 2 people inside bar and I waited 20 minutes for specialist to arrive to take my drink order which never happened, so we left 30 minutes later. While waiting, I Ordered the husband(driver) an alcohol free piña colada. It came as a 2oz shot in a mini champagne glass. Take the shame and close, please. You shame the tiki experience and any decent bar in Palm Springs.

Love This cute little tiki bar was our destination of choice while in Palm Springs. We went here every night we were in town. The seating is limited to 3 booths and a handful of seats at the bar. They have an outdoor patio with additional seating as well. The décor was warm and inviting, and really sets the mood. The servers we had throughout our visit were all highly professional. On our last night one of the servers who was wasn’t working gave up his seat so we could all sit down. We were beyond thankful for his generosity. The drinks we sampled were all extremely well concocted. The right balance of ingredients and fresh garnishes like basil, mint, etc… I look forward to my return trips to PS and the Bootlegger. My favorite drinks were the 1934 version of the Mai Tai, and the Pod Thai.

Stopped in here for a drink while bar hopping around Palm Springs. Oddly enough they have nothing diet and no Canadian whiskey at all. They seem to know how to make a really good drink and the bartenders seem very well experienced. But the place was a little too pretentious for my tastes.

An actual cocktail bar in Palm Springs. While tiki-themed they are clearly targetting the craft cocktail market and are doinga pretty good job. The lighting, décor, and eployees all fit the space very well. The bar is very small, but has a nice outside seating area. I will definitely be returning. Small Gripes: They stop serving food at 7:00. Most of what they serve is basic snack food, so hard to see why the cut off time. It isn’t like there is a grill turned on in the back. The charcuterie plate is decent. And final tip to the employee who was asked to describe what was on the daily meats on the charcuterie plate: listing the 3 meats and cheeses that you don’t have doesn’t help me in understanding what I am order. Just tell me what you do have, so I can decide if I want to order it.

Made new friends at Matchbox during dinner and rudely invited myself to come with them to their next destination, which they were looking forward to because of a late night happy hour, oh and hey it was a tiki bar. SOLD! At first we thought it was closed(found out later we were whimpering at the dark lights of the coffee place on the street) but all was fine. It was love at first step. The room is about the size of your average hotel room and has about three booths and a handful of seats at the bar. Thankfully it only took about 5 minutes of standing around and pondering the menu before I spied people leaving a booth. Sweet, sweet Polynesian success! The décor is fabulous. The bartenders are crafty and thoughtful in their creations. The barbacks and servers are cooly nice. And(mostly) everyone has really rocking tattoos. My tradition of attracting older Australian men did not disappoint as a new«friend», Kevin, decided to sit at our booth and join our group. He was funny, drunk, and fine company. Would I come back here? Hell yes! I need to try more drinks on the menu as I was being conscious to stick with vodka as mixing is a dangerous past time so I only had Newton’s Apple(which tasted like a liquid apple pie!) but really want to try other beverages. In true tiki bar fashion they serve beverages in different glasses in shapes like skulls, tiki faces, and more. Oh and next time I’ll probably get even more dressed for the atmosphere and rock some Pinup Girl Clothing duds. Until next time my sweet tiki oasis in the desert!

This place was fun. I love tiki bars. The bar tenders were very nice and attended us as we walked in. It wasn’t crowded but all the seats/booth were taken. It was nice of him to approach us and start our order. A booth opened up once he finished our drinks. Perfect timing. The drinks were great. My wife and I enjoyed this place. You will see us again, next time we are in town.

Tiki in Palm Springs… suggested by my favorite person… I love tiki bars… I especially love a tiki bar that’s playing good music and is intimate enough where you can forget about the days troubles but still enjoy the people watching and enjoy a good drink. Prices were good considering you’re in Palm Springs… parking is street parking… the bar has limited seating so grab a seat if you can. Service was good… the staff keeps an eye and will swing by your table so you can order more… The Pod Thai was my drink of choice for the night… Small & dark bar… leave the entourage at home and bring just your fave person… Yes…I love it

This is such a cool little spot with a lot of drinks on their menu. Like most of the pictures have shown this place is dark but what the pictures don’t show is how small Tiki is. There’s three bar tenders and one hostess who is pretty cool. The drinks are good and cold which is much appreciated in Palm Springs. There’s three tables that seat four and a small bar that seat about eight but there is a patio out front. They also have a few bar snacks like dates, chili mango’s and coconut popcorn. When I come back to Palm Springs I will definitely come back to Tiki.

Aloha! What a sweet, cozy little tiki bar! Best little tiki bar I may have ever had the pleasure of imbibing at. At first I thought it had become a coffee shop, based on my poor gps skills. Look around the corner, behind the coffee shop! Helloooo! You are immediately greeted by friendly staff checking ID’s inside. Then you see the bartender with a serious apron, creating mad science experiments behind the bar. Then your eyes dart around to the décor that is awesome! Blowfish lights, bamboo walls and ceiling, velvet paintings of topless beauties, etc. grace this magical hideaway. $ 12 to $ 14 will get you an amazing hand crafted cocktail made with love and skill. My first adventure was the«Bay of Pigs». It was warm once it hit my stomach, due to the chile in it, as expected. Do I want warm on a hot desert night? Hmmm, maybe not so much. lol So then I had to switch it up to a more traditional tiki drink — a Mai Tai. the«Ernest Gant Original Mai Tai» to be exact. That was just what the Witch Doctor ordered. And with some sweet tunes wafting by my ears, and a bowl full of local dates, I was transported to a tropical paradise. Service was great, there was room to breathe, and nobody gave me any shit. I would definitely hang out here all night some time. Thanks for the memories. Cheers!

Oh good lord, it is as if a bachelorette party has never strolled into the Bootlegger before. Perhaps there never has but it is hard to believe. Yes, we were a large group and yes this place is TINY, but still. We were mostly ignored and then when we go to ordering drinks, and paying for them the bartenders literally never looked up at you, never made eye contact. Weirdest thing. Now on to the drinks: I had the Blue Hawaii. Delish! I highly recommend. Some of the girls complained that their drinks had very little alcohol but I thought mine was fine. The craft and time each mixologist takes was appreciated by some, like me, but annoyed other patrons behind us who of course had to wait for 10 of us to order drinks and be made, which was a loong process. Sorrrry. I give it an extra star just because my drink was good and I like the décor. I would recommend dates/groups of 2 – 4 only. The service and bartender style is probably better suited for this.

I would have never found out about this place had it not been for the friendly guy at the Shag Store. Apparently, Bootlegger Tiki is formerly Dan the Beachcomber, which was THE place to go to among tiki bars back in the day. I decided to add it to my list of places I needed to visit. It, like the Tonga Hut, also didn’t open until 4:00, but it was worth the wait. When I stepped inside, I almost stumbled, because after being in the sunshine for such a long time, the dark interior of the bar almost looks pitch black, with the exception of a few lights here and there, and the pufferfish lamps. Now, if you are in a huge hurry, or like your drinks to be served to you within a 5 minute timeframe, this place is NOT for you. Bootlegger Tiki prides itself on its drinks and how they are made. They do not use artificial stuff, bottles syrups, or canned juices. Everything is made fresh. My drink took nearly ten minutes to be served to me, and it was worth every second. The flavors were very complex and absolutely wonderful together. I sat outside on the patio and sipped contentedly while wondering why the hell Dallas doesn’t have any good tiki bars. When I return to Palm Springs, I will be sure to stop in again and have another drink(or two).
