3.5 stars for a great farm to fork cafeteria within walking distance of my workplace. Excellent chefs and very courtesy workers. I enjoy going here at least once a week.

Food is ok. The soups and the fish are often too salty. Everything is pretty much just mediocre. The line-cook at the grill isn’t very«on the ball» and has screwed up my(and colleague’s orders) several times. Unfortunately, it’s one of the only few options close to the office. Prices are good — which is what’s keeping them from a 2 star rating.

Cafeteria style Everything is organic and the food comes from local farms = bland All healthy meals unfortunately no flavor. I’ve had the shrimp pizza, turkey sandwich, and a salad. They have a variety of dressings to dip your food in. The portion sizes are small. They offer soups, chips, slices of cakes, and a variety of drinks. You pay extra for chips and drink with your meal. I just don’t think it’s worth close to $ 20 for two people for a bland lunch in an office setting.

I’ve come here for lunch a number of times as its one of the few fast, reasonably healthy places close to me. The food quality is pretty good for a cafeteria. I’ve tried, amongst other things, the mashed potatoes(excellent), chicken marsala(excellent), chicken tikka masala(very good), chicken & mushroom crepes(very good), several fish dishes including salmon and tilapia(very good), grilled chicken sandwiches & burgers(good), steamed veggies(ok), and the chicken caesar salad(good but a little light on the chicken). I disagree with those who say its pricey. If you’re used to a subsidized corporate cafeteria it may be expensive, but compared to downtown PA and Cal Ave, it is not. Most entrees are $ 7 – 8 and these are complete meals that come with 2 sides and are big portions. The salads and sandwiches are $ 6ish. The people that work there are nice and are super accomodating about letting you substitute side dishes. At least right now, it is blissfully uncrowded, even at peak lunch times. I always get in and out within 5 – 10 minutes. About the only downside is the limited dessert selection, just some pre-packaged brownies and cookies(the cookies at least are very medicore).

Another of the Bön Apetit cafeterias. Compared to their other one @ TIBCO, this one is fairly small and so the options are slightly more limited. We almost go here every day as it is conveniently located. The grill, withs its fish choices for the day and other grill items are a staple. Sometimes they do aqua fresca for free. Can’t ask for more in a cafeteria.

Good quality food in a pleasant setting with friendly staff– the prices are moderate($ 7.50 for a turkey burger, fries, and a can of diet Coke) and the food quality on a par with TIBCO. There aren’t enough tables at the outside seating area, but there was plenty of room inside. I’m looking forward to going back.

I stumbled onto it on its grand opening day on May 3, 2012, after seeing on Porter its sandwich-board signs announcing its opening. It was a like a mini TIBCO cafeteria, the food equally as good, only the location is about 1⁄3 the size of TIBCO. My only issue was with the price. I understand that they are environmentally conscientious, with fork-to-farm supplying and organic food, but the $ 7.49 price point for the daily special I had on their first day(pork stir fry, which was mostly sauce, brown rice, veggies) seemed a little steep for the portion size. Delicious, but pricey. On the other hand, that is the most expensive price point. A cheese burger is $ 4.29, sweet potato fries for $ 1.49, soup made from scratch for $ 1.69, deli/sandwich bar for $ 0.45/ounce, salad bar for $ 0.33/ounce and they allow dressing«on the side»(unweighed). I work in the Page Mill Hill complex, which lacks a decent cafeteria, so it was a pleasant surprise to have such an elegant place open up on the other side of our parking lot. Yay! I’m a fan!

The café at 3160 Porter re-opened recently. Taken over by Bön Appetit, new place rocks. Salad bar, grill, daily specials, and SUPER cheap breakfasts. Also a self-serve cappuccino machine which I haven’t tried yet, but looks pretty interesting. Good place for a quick bite if you’re on the go in the Stanford Research Park.
