For Service Appointment scheduling ONLY — leased my car in March (Great experience, great car). Got a call last week so schedule 3 month service appointment. Since I only have 800 miles we decided I didn’t need an appointment. Got a text this morning confirming my appointment on Monday (again, didn’t schedule one). I called the number in the text. TERRIBLE phone tree without the option to get to an operator yet no options fit my need. After 15 min on hold I finally got to someone in scheduling. She very clearly needs a lesson in speaking to customers. She was rude and harsh, interrupting me while I was explaining but not knowing what I needed. She finally took my phone number and said I didn’t have an appointment on Monday. When I asked why I got the text she just repeated her words like I was too stupid to understand what she’d just said. Then I heard a click and the line got quiet. I said «Hello», «Hello» «did you hang up on me». No response. I then called her a name I regret because I was so frustrated after which she said, no I’m here. I was embarrased and apologized and started to say they need to figure out why I got a text confirming an appointment I didn’t make when she really did hang up on me!!! I have no patience to call back and wait 15 min or more on hold for the same treatment.
Get better phone SERVICE people or I’ll look for someplace else to service and eventually replace my new lease car.

Awful! Find another dealership. This place pulled last minute price change. Wanted to charge me $ 200 for etching which they listed as «optional» on the sales sheet. Plus they wanted to charge a dealer prep fee for a CPO. No other dealers in the area charge this type of fee. I was stuck since since some person tboned my car and needed another vehicle urgently. Advice: Move on

Horrible customer service. No one knows what they are talking about and the manger Rocco Auriemma is rude and condescending and should never be a manager or even in customer facing jobs. The worse possible experience I will never buy another Hyundai or anyone I know. Car is called for a recall and they charge for service when they sold me a car that’s garbage. Then tell me the people need to be paid for working on my car when it was their product that was recalled. When speaking to the general sales manager Rocco he told me that’s just it to figure it out. What customer service is this.

Sales team was good, Lloyd was the sales guy who dealt with me. but the other members were not very polite and friendly. Overall business experience was above average.

I was very pleased with my experience at this dealership. Angelo was a great help and very professional. I am so happy with my new car lease!

I made an appointment through online and received confirmation text message to come in the next day at 5:45pm and look for Rocco. And then on the day of the appointment, I received another text to come in at the same time and look for Eric. This didn’t really bother me for I didn’t mind who I needed to speak with to purchasing the vehicle. I came in, and looked for Eric, and he was nowhere to be found. As I was looking around, one of the salesman, Iggie, came to me and told me he would take care of me. Then, few moments later, another salesman, Steve, took us out, and Iggie got angry. This already showed me that these salesman won’t care about each other as long as they get the money.
But, Steve already was working with some other customer, so therefore, he asked me to wait like 10 minutes. We waited for 30 minutes and he still was with a customer. So, we told him we will just work with Iggie, and he tells me he is almost done, and gave me a key to test drive the vehicle. So why not drive around a little to check it out? It was a bit odd that I had to test drive a new car alone, without the salesman next to me… but, I did anyways. I came back, parked where it was, and waited 10 more minutes until Steve was done with his prior customer. By then, the time was 7:45pm. What was point of me making an appointment if I needed to wait 2 hours? Well, whatever. We sat down and talked and told him I wanted to finance, and everything went smoothly. Then, he went back to speak with «Phil» and they started working with financing and everything. Keep in mind that they close at 9pm. The financing guy finally comes out around like 8:55pm and tells me that finance has been approved and I just need to come back tomorrow to talk about the finance and finalize everything. They told me to take the car today for I put down a deposit and finance has been approved. So happily, I took the car home, and the night was a success… Until the next day.
Things went absurd the next day. I was appointed to come in again at 6pm. I came in little earlier, like 5:45pm and waited. They took care of me at 7pm; Yes, there is no point whatsoever to make an appointment here because they will make you wait at least an extra hour. I get into the finance office and the hell broke down. They said that my finance request has been declined, therefore, they needed to look «outside the box» and find another financial company. On top of that, I was signed to take 2016 Sonata, but in order to finance with this «new company,» I need to downgrade to 2016 Elantra. Are you kidding me here? What the heck kind of finance company will let you take this vehicle, but not the other one? I’ve been working at an insurance company for over 5 years now and I heck of a know how financing company works. They probably just wanted to sell an Elantra for some reason (Because salesman kept recommending me Elantra over and over, but I was set on Sonata). So I couldn’t trust them anymore and cancelled everything. Now… the deposit. I told Steve that I need the deposit back, and he said he is «busy» and therefore, he told me to come back tomorrow for it. Is this guy joking me right now? He was talking with other salesman and fooling around outside, but, now he’s busy? At that moment, I had no intention whatsoever to speak to him. So I asked for the manager. I met with the manager named «Phil,» and OH MY GOD, YOU CALL YOURSELF A MANAGER? At first, he tells me he will return it back to my credit card within 4 to 5 minutes. So I wait there for 10 minutes and it did not come back. So I ask him again, it did not come back, and he says «when did I say 4 to 5 minutes? It takes about a week to process.» …So you guys take the money instantly, but you take at least a week to give it back? How logical, huh? So I continued asking him to give back my deposit and he dare to say, «What is your problem? I don’t want to speak to you anymore, leave.» Wow, just wow. Did I hear that right? So I take out the contract and tried finding regarding the return policy, and they don’t have it on it. hahahaha. BUYERS, THEY DON’T HAVE THEIR RETURN POLICY ON THE CONTRACT. So I told them I will just call the cops. Phil says go ahead. So I leave the building to cool down a bit, and take out my phone to call the cops, and then another manager named, Joe, comes out to talk to me. He explained to me the return policy and all, and he seemed a bit more professional than the other guy named Phil… until the end of convo. He told me to come back on Monday, and told me to look for him and he will refund it to my credit card right in front of me. I asked him to put that in writing and he said he needed to get back to work for he has «a lot in his hands.» …cool. So I will be going back there this upcoming Monday, 4÷18÷16, and see if this guy keeps his word. We will see how this goes.

This review is strictly for the unprofessional sales manager or whatever his title is… Phil.
My husband and I have a complicated situation with our current car that we are trying to trade in. Nothing that can’t be fixed but we decided to see what Hyundai would tell us. We came here prior (about 3 to 4 weeks ago) and worked with Jair and Mark, both who are no longer working here. They were amazing. As complicated as our situation is they really worked with us. Their patience and hard work wasn’t unnoticed. They treated us so well that my husband and I spoke so highly of them and the dealership for working with us the way they did. Unfortunately we did not take the offer because my husband and I were in the process of closing on our house (and because we couldn’t let recent credit reports interrupt our credit) so we told them we would be back. At that time we didn’t know it would affect our credit or the closure of the house. So we had to make the best decision at that time and our house obviously came first.
So we went last evening after closing on our house now. I scheduled my meeting with Brittany, who was very polite and professional. Our appointment was at 7:30pm (keep in mind they close at 9). We met with Rich who was also very professional. He really appeared genuine in working with us to see if something could be done. My husband and I really liked Rich. However, Phil came into the picture when it was time to talk numbers…
He pretty much shut us down in the most unprofessional way you could think of. He didn’t even bother to give us any offers. When rich approached him he walked out the dealership in the middle of everything to dance and talk with two other male colleagues of his. How unprofessional could you be? You were still on the clock, you were still getting paid to be there, it was not 9:00pm yet.
I too have a job, Phil. We also have our family to take care off after our shifts are completed. We understand what it is to be almost done with your shift after working long hours and then attend to a client. However that does not give you or anyone the right to treat us or anyone like filth. If it was that bad of a night for you, the professional thing to do was to tell us to come back at another time and we would have been okay with that. But no, you walked out and coincidently walked right back inside when we were exiting and my husband asked for your name. Why go inside now Phil?
Note that Phil stayed outside until my husband and I left the dealership. The second we drove out of the dealership, Phil was nowhere to be found.
We will be contacting this dealer to speak with someone above Phil because this treatment was unacceptable. We also make further complaints to the BBB, not because of the dealership as a whole, but because of Phil, who is a representation of your company. We do not tolerate unprofessionalism and being treated the way we were last night.

Can I give them –5 stars? The worst customer service of all dealerships I have dealt with. The female who answered the phone was so impatient and rude. Ugh. F***ed up my morning. I may not be buying a car at this moment but if I make a decision to buy tomorrow morning it will not be from Hyundai of Paramus.

When you lease a brand new car you expect peace of mind, so Back in April 2015 I leased a Hyundai Sonata (same year), everything was great, but after a few months I received calls from this dealer asking to take the car back for 2 recalls. The only problem is the service will take 8 hours and they do not offer a car to take you back home, unless you live up to 5 miles from the dealer in Paramus, but since I live in Lyndhurst, I would have to rent a car or pay for a cab service.
WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IT IS NOT MY FAULT. I did not leased a old car. I leased a 2015 car. Shame on you Hyundai.
The managers never answer the phone and whoever answers the phone can not promise any arrangement, because that is up to the manager.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALER AND I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH YOU AGAIN.

The Best experience I have had in all my years of buying or leasing cars. The manager, Phil and Salesman, Brian are great and the entire process, for the first time, EVER, was painless. If you are interested in buying a used Hyundai, I highly recommend going to see them before anyone else.

Buyer beware… If you must buy a car here make sure to get everything they promised you in writing. Bought a certified used car and the salesman assured me they would replace the bald front tires being this is my first car bought through a dealer I took him on his word. Bad idea. now they tell me they would only replace the tires if the car failed inspection… They also told me they would touch up the bumper on the car. First attempt the paint guy was not there but what do they care they didn’t take off work I did … now they tell me to drop off my only transportation on a Wednesday or Friday and it will be a couple hours. they will be your best friend till you sign that paper the anything they promised they will make as inconvenient as possible so you can’t get it done. You have been warned

Didn’t buy a car here and happy I didn’t. Tried to schedule a simple service appointment for a RECALL that Hyundai put out. Got hung up on 3 times, then transferred to a voicemail 2 times. Then I was told that there are plenty of spots for the day I wanted to bring the car in and transferred to a voicemail again. When I finally reached a person who was willing to say something more than «Please Hold» that person told me there’s nothing available for that day or for the next week and a half. I don’t know how their Sales Department is but their Service Department is absolutely horrible. Too many other dealerships in the area to waste your time here.

Car buying is about the start-​to-​finish experience.
Background: I’ve bought more than 10 new or pre-​owned cars in Bergen County. I visit many dealerships, do the research, and when I buy, it’s because everything lines up.
First visit to scout pre-​owned Hyundais. Met by the unassuming, polite, Lloyd. He allowed us to meander without being on top of us. Upon interest, he would get the keys and let us look and feel. We asked to test a car? Within 5 minutes we were driving. Lloyd understood his cars. Pleasant. Relaxed.
We shows some interest, went inside, and were treated fairly. I enjoy and understand the entire process, and he didn’t insult my experience. Good move.
I negotiated, talked to the manager, Mark, also. Mark had a great demeanor, didn’t talk down, was a great negotiator in his own right.
They are (like all salespeople) interested in closing right then and there. It was the first car we had tested, so we were in no way signing that night.
We did sign on the last day of the month. Traded in a car. Struck a mutually acceptable deal and were able to drive away THAT DAY.
Their business managers were overrun with business that day, so we had a bit of a wait, had some free lattes. Business manager, mr. Ahmed, was quick, efficient, professional, AND secured us a loan for half a point less that our credit union rate. Even I was impressed.
Before going to any dealer — know what you want, do your homework, stick to your guns, ALWAYS negotiate. Be fair and you will be treated fairly.
Recommend by me, the ultimate cynic. No lie.

The sales process here was ok, but I have had nothing but issues with the Finance Department /​General Management. Buyer beware!
My ongoing issue:
I purchased a service contract when I purchased my car. I tried to use it about a year later and was told that the contract was actually cancelled, by the dealership, on the very same day it was signed/​paid for. Nobody seems to know why.
I elected to take a refund instead of re-​instating the contract, as I no longer trusted the finance department (this was not the first issue).
I have been working with them for 4 months now to try to get my refund. I have been told 3 separate times that the money has been sent over to my loan company, but it hasn’t. I have repeatedly asked for proof (tracking #, photo of the check, etc.). Last Friday I was sent a photo of «my» check, but it was someone else’s check!
Every day that goes by, I am paying interest (for over a year) on a service that I was never provided. And apparently I can’t get the interest refunded either, so this is very urgent in my eyes.
The back office at Hyundai Paramus is so incompetent that not only have they cancelled my contract, they can’t even manage to get the check sent out, or to get the correct check.
I have left several messages for the General Manager and the Office Manager. Neither has the decency to return my call. The only person who will speak to me is the Finance Manager, who is supposedly working with both of them on this, but the fact that he cannot seem to get through to them the urgency makes me wonder if there is really some scam going on here. For sure this is a customer service disaster.

I didn’t purchase my car from here, so this review is in regards to their SERVICE DEPARTMENT:
I get my oil change regularly from here and right before my latest oil change was due, my passenger side low beam went out. I figured it was just a bad bulb and I told them to replace it while I got my oil changed. When I went to pickup my car, they told me they had bad news. Apparently, the bulb wasn’t the issue but it was the harness that powered the bulb that went out. They then told me that the part I needed wasn’t sold individually, so I had to buy the whole headlight interior unit which would cost around $ 600.
Suspicious, I told them to hold off on that and I went home. A couple of days later, I took off the bumper myself and replaced the bulb to see if it really wasn’t just that. The light worked fine.
I was livid and to give them the benefit of the doubt, I held off on writing this review, just in case the harness was really bad and the light would go out in a couple of days. Well, it’s been over 2 weeks and the light is still working fine.
Either they are scamming customers who seem like they don’t know anything or they have really bad techs.
Both are reasons to stay away from this service department!
I’m going to be contacting Hyundai about this incident as well. I’m scared to take the car to this dealership. Who knows how incapable the techs are or to what lengths they would go to scam or even sabotage parts to make money.

Downright disgusting customer service. Problem 1: While signing paperwork, found a 1000 dollar mistake. Whether incompetence or underhandedness, it was unacceptable. It was fixed. Moving on…
Problem 2: called 2 weeks after to speak to my salesguy. He was busy with a customer and I was told he’d call back. Never called back. Spoke to sales manager a couple days later and informed of same. Moving on still…
Problem 3: Asked them to TRANSFER a registration from my old plate. After title and transfer, should only cost around 90 bucks total. They called twice for my old plate number and after that, even asked for it via text and I sent it. They got me a new registration and plates. Over 300 bucks. Was told they’d straighten it out in the morning but tried to push me on the phone to take the new plates.
Its damn near impossible to get ANYONE to do their jobs anymore.

Update: my temp plate has expired. Spent 38k on a car I can’t drive because of their mistake. Still no plates and no money back. Paramus Hyundai is a den of thieves. Don’t say you weren’t warned
UPDATE: still do not have my registration issue resolved yet. No new temp plate, either. I spoke to Brittany at the dealership today (thursday ¹⁰⁄₁₅), she promised a return phonecall «within the hour». Its 114 AM I’m fairly certain I’m not getting a call back from her. Why are callbacks at this dealership next to impossible to get? Forget the plates for a minute, I was outright lied to. A callback «within the hour, just as soon as the girl that handles the DMV stuff gets off lunch» means I should have at least been called back before close of business. How long is this DMV paperwork persons lunch break? 3 days? I called initially to speak with Eric, who seemed very interested in resolving this fairly with me. Brittany intercepted the call then put me on the pay no mind list. What I’m hearing loud and clear is «GO AWAY WE DON’T WANT YOUR BUSINESS». Can SOMEONE call me back tomorrow (Friday ¹⁰⁄₁₆)? I don’t care who, just someone from your organization with some semblance of duty to customer service please return my call. It can be the janitor at this point for all I care. Here is my number for the world to see. 3 472 668 801. I’d really like to hear from Brittany again so she can explain what happened yesterday.
Update. If you don’t hand deliver and photo document their employees receiving documentation from you, they’ll claim they never got it. 2 separate emails to the same inbox, one arrived and one didn’t. They need to kill the email gnome running around deleting emails over there because it’s pissing customers off. As of today, my car is still not registered. I’m NEVER going to pay for someone else’s mistake, especially after their document guy told me «that’s just the way it’s going to be».
Update ¹⁰⁄₂₈. My registration is cleared to my original plate. The problem is fixed, but apparently now I have to do a ton of legwork to get my money back owed to me. Heaven forbid they fix their mistake and get the refund owed to me. Now, more of my time wasted to chase MY money owed to me because I had the misfortune of doing business with Paramus Hyundai. Awful. Buy a car ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

I considered buying a Genesis from Paramus Hyundai and they were shady from beginning to end. After buying elsewhere I decided to get my Genesis serviced there because it was conveniently located. What a bad move. Disorganized and poor service all around. The only reason why I give this place one star is the service rep was pleasant. Do yourself a favor and don’t do business at this dealership. You’ll regret it.

I must admit that the outside of this dealership looks very nice but buyer beware. Once you step in they swarm you like bees and will want to check your credit without even having a chance to talk.
I was a serious buyer and wanted to purchase a vehicle but one of the sales people told me straight up that I won’t be able to secure a loan, nor would I be able to make the payments. Seriously? who are you to judge.
I’ve heard bad things about this dealership prior, but decided to give them a chance. Worst mistake I have ever made.

La atención excelente por parte del representante Alex Vargas, pero me parece excesivo si tenemos en cuenta que solo fue un diagnóstico y que todo lo que diagnosticaron no era real. Tengo a mano el documento que acredita lo que expongo. Revise el auto en otro lugar y coincidieron en las bujías no en el posible salidero de aceite en el sistema hidráulico de la dirección. En el otro lugar me dieron la posibilidad de revisar mi auto. Cosa que congratula al cliente.
Esperemos que en la próxima visita sean más coherente en sus diagnósticos.

Excellent attention by the representative Alex Vargas, but seems excessive when you consider that it was only a diagnosis and that everything was diagnosed was not real. I hand the document that proves what I expose. Check the car elsewhere and agreed plugs not possible oil leak in the hydraulic steering system. In another place I got the chance to check my car. Which pleased customer.
Hopefully in the next visit more consistent in their diagnoses.
