I am so glad I came here today. My first time. After a long day of work, and two hours in traffic, the one and only thing I was looking for it was a good meal for a reasonable price, and not a good looking building with an awful customer service. I love Chinese food, and this place is definitely one that you will love to come back. Awesome service, right price, friendly and the most best part of all. …good food.

This place is great, the food is really good and not too salty at all… If you happen to be in the Pasadena area give them a try or their other location on 60 North Raymond Ave.

This is my favorite place for Chinese in the Pasadena area in the less than $ 10 range. The food is delicious and portions are great. My favorite dish is Chicken with Broccoli. It is always consistent and fresh. The only thing that would make this place perfect for me is if they offered brown rice. Other than that, the food is tasty!

To begin with, this is thee best Chinese food I have ever had all my life. My parents brought me here every Sunday from when I was a very young kid and we have been loyal customers since(15+ years) and they have NEVER let me down. The workers are very nice, they remember your name, what you order, they remember what drink you get, what soup you like. They really remember everything and instantly make you feel at home every time you come. The food is to die for. I’ve tried about 90% of their menu and it has all been amazing. Full of flavor and very authentic. They also adjust to any need(like vegetarians, or someone that doesn’t want their food oily, or maybe too spicy, etc) Trust me when I say this place will NOT ever let you down. If you have any issues just tell one of the waiters and they’ll make it right. This is my go-to place every time I’m in Pasadena! Highly recommended!

Tried the lunch specials; Kung Paolo and pork love mein. Really if you were somewhere else than california, let alone the San Gabriel Valley this would rated as mediocre. How anyone rates this 50’s through back generic, tasteless food above a 2 is hard to believe. Better off at Panda.

Been coming here for something more than 15 years on a regular basis; reasonable price, flavors we like and some dinner combinations that work for our family make this our go to comfort food. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s all the cooler for the«hole in the wall» diner feel. We don’t actually need to order here as the server knows what we usually have. :-) Early dinner and lunch specials are an especially good buy. ..

In terms of value to quality this restaurant is really amazing. A couple of brothers run it, and they are committed to very good quality Szechuan cuisine. My biggest problem is when I go there I like some of their dishes so much, I get in a rut. Here are some of the items which are great — kung pao, egg foo yung, three ingredient garlic, moo shu, cashew chicken. Their hot and sour and wor won ton soups are really great. They have lunch combination plates as well as dinner combinations which are very economical. and, if you want them to customize something a big(don’t tell them I told you so) they often will. My favorite in the past year or two has been combination chow mein, made spicy.

Always great food, amazing service and huge portions. Enough said. And my mom is picky as anything with her Chinese food and she always wants to come here.

Great lunch deal. One lunch order can feed two people and the food is delicious! The people are also friendly. Definitely coming back if I’m in Pasadena.

We were on our way home after attending a birthday party in Pasadena when we decided to stop by this place for dinner. We couldn’t find any parking lot, but there were plenty of street parking when we got there around 5 pm. The menu is quite authentically Chinese, with Chinese characters dominating the English translation. Nevertheless, there are no comical misspelling on the menu, which makes it less authentic. Surprisingly, there were no other Asian diners during the time we were there on a Sunday evening. I am not sure whether the service staff actually speak Mandarin, so I ordered in English. The food, on the other hand, is traditionally prepared and tasty. it’s not the best Chinese food in Pasadena, but it provided all of us with a satisfying meal.

It’s just okay, nothing special. Food is bland and loaded with msg. Gross. Service is okay, rude and not trying to make their customers satifised. Save your money, I will not be returning to this sh*t –hole.

This place is a four star for a quick, filling, inexpensive lunch. You get an egg roll, small soup, rice(get steamed– the fried rice is so plain), entrée, a couple wedges of orange, and a fortune cookie for under $ 8! Great deal!

Fast, friendly and delicious. I was one of the last people to walk in before they were closing for the night, and I just made the cut. They allowed me to order for dine in, but literally the next couple who walked in got the take out only response. No one cares. The food here is that good. I bet that couple raced home and devoured it. I did while I was there. You can’t go wrong with the dinner combos. Your choice of egg drop or sweet hot soup, fried or white rice with a decent amount of main meat. I went with the shrimp in garlic and was happy I did.

One of my go-to Chinese restaurants. I’ve been going here since I was a kid; my parents are still regulars here. Some of my favorite dishes are: hot and sour soup, chinese chicken salad, tofu in brown sauce, any of the pan fried noodles, and pineapple chicken. I recently went to the Raymond location and think that the Colorado location is better. The Raymond location has a nice décor and is close to all of the other Old Town spots, whereas this location has a more ma-and-pa feel and is several blocks from Old Town. But being further from Old Town means better parking! The portions are bigger at this location and the quality and service is just as good or even better. Also, they don’t charge for hot tea here! I like it so much that even though I’m currently closer to the Raymond location, I will spend the extra 7 minutes to go to this one. Can’t wait to eat hear again. Yum!

After looking for a Chinese fast food spot near my job, I tried this place for lunch today. Arrived at 11:45, one couple was eating. By the time I left at 12:30 it was almost packed. Small dining room with about 10 tables. They take credit cards. The lunch special is very generous. I ordered the garlic chicken. They gave me a cup of hot and sour soup first, it was really, really good. Then came my very large plate of garlic chicken, fried rice and an egg roll. I could barely finish half of the dish. I took the rest home for dinner. All for $ 6.85. They also gave me hot tea upon request for free instead of water. The garlic chicken was 90% chicken, which I liked, with a few broccoli spears, a bit of celery(yuk) and some green onions. The sauce is tangy, sweet, and garlicy. I will definitely go back. The place is a dive, but don’t all dives serve really good food??? LOL

I eat here at least once a week. The food is GREAT and the prices are great. You get large portions of food, rice, eggroll and soup for about $ 7. The food is made to order and is great. If you like the little hole in the wall place that has the best food ever… this is the place!!!

Seems like family business and they have good quality food, I would say if hot and sour soup had a little chicken, would be an awesome soup.

I ate food from Grandview Palace a few years ago and thought it was not very good. Last night the in-laws wanted take-out Chinese and they suggested Grandview Palace. I was unenthusiastic but said sure, it’s been a couple years. I checked the Unilocal reviews and Grandview has 4 stars! Hmm, maybe it changed? So I ordered. Our order consisted of 3 of the Chef’s Specials and one Tofu Entrée. Combination Kung Pao extra spicy, Jade Chicken mild spicy, Triple Delight, and Kung Pao Tofu extra spicy. Well, it had not changed. It was really really flavorless. My order was wrong(ended up with Kung Pao Chicken not Combination Kung Pao. It consisted of pieces of chicken that were flavorless, a few scallions, lots of the red peppers, some very mild sauce. No seasoning. Not spicy(unless you eat the peppers), just plain dull. The Kung Pao Tofo was about the same. Flavorless. The Jade Chicken was fairly well reviewed by the person who ordered it, but he isn’t someone who likes much seasoning. The Triple Delight looked OK but I didn’t try it. I notice that most of the meals were not eaten. Portions are big and boring. Fortune cookies were stale. Absolutely hated the idea of a restaurant with booths and table clothes that also has a TV on during the dinner!!! I should have gone with my original thought, which was to divert the in-laws to PickUp Stixs in Hastings Ranch. It only got 3 stars on Unilocal but is much better, fresher, more flavorful, and provides the nutrition content. Plus they have brown or steamed rice for those who care.
