The meatballs were revolutionary. They we’re moist and juicy. The Lasanga is definitely a go to in my opinion. The cheese in the lansanga was nice and gooey. Also, I recommend the salad it’s not a typical salad you’d find at an Italian restaurant. I’m eager to return and eat some more!

Came here Friday night a little after 7pm to grab some food before returning to my wife and new born girl at Huntington Memorial Hospital(FYI never have a kid at Huntington… go to Arcadia). I walked up to place and order to go and the guy ignored me for about 10 min, ok no worries it’s a Friday night and the place was busy and they were closing in 45 min. But even when the guy finally did acknowledge me he just seemed like I was bothering him and he didn’t need or want my business. Now that I am remembering it a little better(sorry — new born thus have not been sleeping) he was down right rude. But the food was good. I ordered the Orecchiette de Isabella– no basil, and a 10′ Luciano’s Masterpiece deluxe. He told me 15 – 20 minutes so I walked outside and made a few calls. The problem was when I came back the only thing he had for me was an order of the Orecchiette de Isabella and no pizza. He told me that I didn’t order a pizza. Now I know that I was on two hours of sleep BUT I also know what I ordered! then he said they were closing soon and so he didn’t have time to have the pizza made. Their is an open window that looks right into the kitchen and the two Hispanic cooks in the back were just sitting there cleaning up. I guess maybe if it had been an actual italian cook in the back maybe I cold have gotten some pizza. And to top it off when I got back to the room to eat they had put a little Basil in the dish… But even after all of that i have to admit that the Orecchiette de Isabella was pretty good. Would I go back if I was not trapped at the hospital again– NO. But when I compare this places food to the cafeteria at the hospital I have to tell everyone to just walk across the street to here. But be aware they are not cheap, it was almost $ 20 for my one pasta dish. But they do give you a large portion.

I have been here or ordered from here about twenty times now and all I can tell you is AMAZING! Great food, Great people, Great atmosphere. I only wish I had found this place 15 years ago… don’t worry I’ll make up for lost time. My favorite meal consists of: One of their pizza’s(depending on how my wife and I feel) and the Orecchiette Isabella(once you have had this you will know what I’m talking about). One last thing, they have great lunches… JUST A GREATPLACE!!!

Went here today for my boyfriends and I’s anniversary. We were hungry for Italian food and saw this place had great reviews on Unilocal. We ordered a small mozzarella pizza and spaghetti with meat sauce. It was very good! Our waiter Ricciano(not sure how to spell it) was excellent! He made the experience great. He was very quick and alert. The food came out hot and fresh very fast service! Overall it was great the prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for, it’s worth it! I can’t wait to come back I’ll make the 30 min drive. Thanks for the great service and excellent food!

A wise uncle once told me you must find 3 things in order to be happy: a wise accountant, a crafty attorney, and a local italian restaurant that serves good food in large portions at a fair price. Check that one off of the list. My wife and I ate here on a Saturday night. No wait for the table. Server on us immediately and provides his recommendations. Salad out in a jiffy. Just when that is finished out comes two plates heaped with carbs, cheese and meat. We brought the leftovers home and I kid you not, the bag was so heavy it felt like a workout for my arm. The prices are fair for this area…2 glasses of wine, 2 salads and 2 entrees were $ 60 with tip. It’s not Union, not pretentious, the décor is spartan, but if you are looking to pack away 2,000 delicious italian calories… this is your place.

The pizza is the best! I haven’t had great pizza in a long time. Order the spaghetti, I usually don’t order spaghetti but this is a must if you go. The garlic bread is not that great and meat balls were okay. I would just get the spaghetti with meat sauce.

Excellent food! Very hot and taste fresh. Good that taste authentic. Chef Ramsey would approve. I had the Vegetarian lasagne and it was excellent! Highly recommend this place for picky eaters.

First and last time here went in with my sis for a quick lunch and the waiter is some old rude guy he was busy watching his sports and on his phone and was clearly upset we shared a plate the chicken parm it tasted like a frozen dinner no flavor and chicken was cold if your looking for good food and good service go elsewhere

The food here is delicious. You can taste the quality in every bite. I ordered the dinner salad, which was amazing, and the vegetarian pizza. A highlight was their mushrooms. Meaty and, as I said, extremely FRESH. Eat here! Old school Italian joint. Really cute and great tasting food. But don’t be in a rush. The service is great, but on the«slow» side. Come with friends and family and enjoy!

I do not usually want a restaurant to be great, if they are not, I have plenty of alternatives. This place, however, I thought merited attention, as it was geographically beneficial as well as Italian food, which I never tire of. I always thought people going out to dinner should order something that they could not make themselves, so I always looked askew at anyone ordering something as mundane as spaghetti and meatballs. Does this make me a food snob, probably ;) Well perhaps I will reconsider as when it is 95 degrees out at 8 pm, there is not much of anything that I would want to cook, but I’m still hungry. So this hot summer has been a boon to my eating out, almost every night. So, upon the invitation and recommendation of a friend, we gave this place a shot. Yes, I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Why you ask? Perhaps I just wanted something so simple, that it had to be good, as I was not in any mood to pick apart a high end entrée. The food took a bit longer than I thought it should even though we were the only patrons at the time. My meal was served 8 minutes before my friend’s, which was rather odd. The server did however religiously refill our water and soda’s without even asking. So how was the spaghetti and meatballs, well honestly it was rather boring. The sauce was without any discernable flavors, the meatballs as well. The spaghetti itself was a tad over cooked, as I think it should be al dente. My friend on the the other hand ordered fettuccini with shrimp and he was very pleased, not caring for seafood, I have no ability to rate it myself, although it looked a bit overdone. Overall, this is not a repeat in my book, although the pizza menu looked interesting.

Lucianos is by far my favorite Italian food restaurant! Quality of the food is so much better than most others I’ve tried! I wish they had more locations. It’s tucked away in the corner of a shopping center and doesn’t have as much«curb appeal» as it deserves. The prices are a bit high, but it’s okay because the portions are generous enough to have leftovers.

Visited Luciano’s for the 3rd time and this is my first review. I really enjoyed my MEATBALL sub. Yes, the food is a bit expensive, however, the other Italian chain restaurants«OG» lack service and the food is sub par. Not Luciano’s. I also had the honor of being served by Luciano the owner. Really cool guy.

Met Luciano, the owner today. Very nice, outgoing. We drive 40+ miles to come here. Tried the pizza today, 1st time, it’s good too. Since Luciano gave me some suggestions for next time, I’m excited for my next visit.

I can’t tell u enough great things about this place! The food is delicious and the taste of everything is very authentic. The owner Luciano is the nicest person. Makes sure you have everything you need and from the looks of it, he knows all his customers and everyone loves him. The cook/waiter Mando is so nice. Very fast and makes sure you get the very best service. There needs to be more restaurants like this in pasadena. It’s a jewel in pasadena. Highly recommend

Small little Italian restaurant right in the Vons shopping center across from the hospital. Superb Italian sandwiches and spectacular service. Their #8 with turkey and avocado is my go to. I could walk to closer places by my work in old town but it’s always worth going out of my way to come here. Highly recommended for a quick sub for lunch or home made tasting Italian dinner.

We were craving pizza, so it’s pizza that we got. I found this place and the pictures looked too amazing to pass up. Plus, it was close by! Why not? It’s a little hidden, and it looks tiny from the outside. You walk in, and it’s still tiny(lol) but it’s nicely decorated. It’s just me being a hungry ass, but I was a little surprised that they didn’t serve any bread and butter to customers. Oh well! My bf and I ordered their XL Masterpiece Deluxe which comes with everything that we love. $ 19.99.can’t beat that! It did take a while to come out, but hey, at least you know it’s fresh! No lie, the pizza was huge. But, we finished the damn thang. Come at me. AND.AND.THEYHADRANCH. YES. Overall, the pizza was decent. It was too hot when served that the cheese just slid off. :/Had to wait till it hardened a little to eat. The tomato sauce was a little too sour-y for my liking but it wasn’t bad. I’ve overall had better pizza, but it was good for the price! They have a bunch of other items, so I’ll probably have to check those out!

I’m a big fan of cheese and by checking out the pictures on Unilocal and skimming through their menu I thought I’d give Luciano’s a try. I ordered a full size Caesar salad($ 7.95), and the Malingana sandwich($ 8.95). The Caesar salad was bland in flavor which is always an issue for me. There’s either too much anchovy saltiness or not enough, unfortunately this was a case that needed more salt. I will say that the lettuce and croutons remained nice and crisp despite it being pre-tossed in flavorless dressing. The Malingana sandwich was a combination of breaded zucchini and slices of button mushrooms swimming in delicious marinara sauce. This awesome vegetarian concoction is housed in a French roll and topped with melted mozzarella. My only gripe with this sandwich is that I wish the bread was toasted more. I think it was lightly toasted but the generous amounts of marinara and cheese make the bread slightly soggy. I ordered to-go and the man who helped me out was extremely friendly. The great service and smell of marinara sauce inside is reason enough for me to go back!

My brother, niece and I went to meet up with our older brother for lunch Tuesday and he chose this place because his daughter(my niece) wanted pasta and apparently he’s also a regular here. I was surprised to discover another plaza in Pasadena that I didn’t know about — one with a Thai and Japanese restaurant and also a Vons market. This restaurant was located in the corner and was a pretty small family-owned restaurant. The owners already know my brother since he told us he came here once a week with his coworkers for years before he got a little too fat and had to stop eating so much carbs. I can see why one would over eat at this place though because the food was delicious and the portions were big. I had the Penne Carbonara and although it was delicious it was also pretty greasy(mostly because of the cheese and olive oil) but honestly most pasta dishes are pretty greasy anywhere cause that’s just how Italian food is made — loaded with cheesy and saucy goodness — and sometimes not good but here it was very good. My brother had the Pollazo — breaded chicken breast sandwiched between toasty buns and loaded with hot gooey mozzarella cheese. It was a sight to see him eat it cause it was so cheesy! but he said it was very delicious and a must try. My older brother ordered the Chicken Parmesan which I tasted a piece of — the chicken was really juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside — smothered with a tasty marinara sauce and baked with a load of mozzarella cheese. The two dishes are similar except one comes in a toasted bun and this one is just two big pieces of chicken. I prefer the Chicken Parmesan over the Pollazo just because I would want less carbs. But they are both equally as tasty. My 6 year old niece had their spaghetti and one big meatball — she’s a picky eater but she ate a lot more than usual and I guess that meant it was pretty good. The service was okay — they had one waiter and it was lunch time so he was super busy. The owners were busy in the back cooking or preparing but they did greet my older brother as we were leaving. I’m glad that my brother took us here cause I like smaller family-owned Italian restaurants — their food tends to be more authentic and services tend to be friendlier and also has a more intimate ambiance.
