Fairly good service for such fine dining. The food was amazing. I went with my girlfriend and her parents and we all ate the dine la menu. I had a 3 course meal with an amazing Ceaser salad, garlic sea bass, and the best cheesecake I’ve ever had for dessert.

Dinner at Ruth’s on 2÷3÷16. I really hate to leave this review but the food was really sub par. I don’t like to take pictures of my food but I wish I had as my filet looked more like a turtle than a piece of beef. I should have sent it back on appearance alone. Especially at Ruth’s where they advertise their filet as a beautiful cut. Definitely should have returned it after the first effort to cut through it required significant effort. This was seriously akin to shoe leather. Unfortunately most every bite after the first was more of the same. I’m not sure how you do that with a prime filet at a nice restaurant but somehow they managed. What happened to fork-tender? It was a notch overdone to begin with and with the sizzling plate it didn’t take long to brown through. I also had the fingerling potatoes which were so hot they had to sit for 10 minutes before I could eat them. By then the were more like fries. I should note that I sat in the bar area as I was traveling alone. I was tired from traveling and looked forward to a good meal. Didn’t want to complain about the food and wait for a replacement. Service was great– other than not inquiring as to why I only nibbled on my steak. They didn’t inquire about my satisfaction with the food at all. I should know by now to avoid the chain restaurants…

Came here for DineLA last weekend. Parking is not too bad, you can either valet, street park, or park at Paseo which has 90 min free with validation(validation machine is right outside the elevator). We were seated right away. The ambiance is very intimate, A+ for a date! I got the 6oz Filet with Lobster Tail Pinwheel, the filet was cooked to perfect medium rare. Meat was tender and juicy. Everything came out on a sizzlingly hot plate of butter. I like the hot plate but I wasn’t sure about the bed of butter… made everything tasted a lot heavier than it should have. We got Fingerling Potatoes and Corn Pudding, the potatoes are basically thick-cut fries but not as good as regular fries… The Corn Pudding was sweet and appetizing, will definitely suggest you to try it! For dessert, we got the Mini Cheesecake, it was sooo yummy but I was way too full to finish everything! We also got a bottle of wine to pair with our meal, I should’ve taken a picture of the bottle because it was delicious! Service was excellent and the dining experience was great! Will be back!

I had been here before, and it was good. To make my birthday week going, we decided to dine here, plus it’s a dinela week. –parking: there’s a parking lot across street, I believe the first 90 minutes is free, then they charge you for the over minutes –service: our waitress was very attentive, and nice. She explained to you on the menu, and she pay attention to the food that we shared. She separated the salad for us. –food: filet mignon was lean and tender, there’s a lobster tail on top, it’s a good combination. They keep the plate hot for the food, and the food was hot too, not like other restaurants. But I don’t like too much butter on my plate:(The miso black cod was good but the source on top was a bit too salty. The cream spinach was good too. –environment: it’s a good place to have candle night dinner because the light was a bit dim.

Probably one of the best steakhouses I’ve ever been to. I brought my parents here for their wedding anniversary, and I have yet to see such service from any establishment. The staff noted my parents names, and upon being seated, I noticed that my parents names’ were printed at the top of their menus. It’s a small touch, but it means a lot coming from a restaurant. Every course of the dinner we had ordered was better than the next. The attention to detail of the food at this establishment is immaculate. The service here is something to note as well. All of the staff give their 100% to each table, making sure everyone is satisfied. A+ to Ruth’s Chris

Great place for special occasion or date night dinner. I went with my gf for her birthday dinner. Our server, Roger, was super friendly. I let them know ahead of time that this is for bday and he prepared the menu with a phrase ‘Happy birthday Mina’ printed on the top of the menu, which was pretty impressive. He also brought a cheesecake and a few piece of chocolate with a candle. The plate said the same phrase that was on the menu. Very impressive service. Food was great too. I ordered filet with lobster(dinela menu). It was perfectly cooked(medium rare for me and medium well for my gf). Trio sauce($ 6) added plenty of flavor — we loved soy sauce and shiitake. Overall it was pricey but I highly recommend this place for special occasion or date night dinner.

An amazing night for celebrating my pre 30 year birthday. A buddy of mines reserved a table of four for a friday night(Dine L.A. Event). We made reservations a week in advance, and unfortunately it wasn’t perfect(still amazing though). We had reservations at 9:30 pm, but weren’t seated til 9:45. This was because the table that was supposed to be reserved for us had a Chinese business group that stayed at their table for 6 and a half hours. I figured this was just a minor hiccup, so decided to be more understanding because they were incredibly busy. Once seated we were greeted by Nicole(our waitress). She is the best waitress that I have ever met, and made the night that much more memorable. We looked over the menu and ¾ of us had our hearts set on having a Rib Eye Steak but they didn’t have it as option for Dine L.A. Nicole assured us that for an extra $ 5 we could just order from the Classic Meal Set. Nicole was tremendously helpful, fun, professional, witty and knew how to entertain us without drawing too much attention to her. I’m most definitely certain that if we were to be served by someone else we wouldn’t have such a memorable experience. We ordered(for 4): Appetizer: Kale and Apple Salad (3) Tomatoe Bisque Sides: Corn Pudding Creamed Spinach Mashed Potatoes Potatoes au Gratin Main Course (4)16 oz Rib Eye(Rare+ to Med Rare) Dessert (2) Crème Brulee (2) Dark Chocolate Cake w/Berries and cream(Seasonal) The salad was refreshing. The mixture of sweet crisp apples, citrus tangy flavor of the dressing and the contrast of the blue cheese is nice(not a fan of blue cheese). Tomatoe Bisque is seasonal, but when available it’s a must have. Every spoonful brings a different taste to the party in your mouth, and once mixed with the cheese cookie you’ll never want to stop. All the sides are great except for the creamed spinach which is nothing spectacular. The one worth mentioning is the corn pudding which has a sweet aroma that brings a nice home cooking feel. Mashed potatoes are my favorite, but corn pudding is a very close second. The steak met all my expectation. Plate is freakishly hot so the first cut causing all the juices to drip on the plate is a symphony of sizzles. I’m personally medium rare person, but I gave the Rare+ a shot, and I’m gonna stick with medium rare(need a little more meaty bite for substitution of flavor). The crème brûlée is the best, vanilla beans, and berries for the win, and since I’m not a chocolate fan or a cake fan I feel my opinion is moot.

DineLA! Best time to try out the fancy steak houses! First one to ring in my head was Ruth’s Chris! Made a reservation at 930pm. Showed up around 915pm was told that there was a wait and that they’ll be running about 15 minutes late. Around 945pm we were called in and we sat down. They are pretty on point with their time! First thing I rush to was the Dine LA menu and in my head(aww no ribeye, I guess the New York strip it is). Our waitress Nicole comes by and was like there are the regular Ruth’s Chris classics that INCLUDE the ribeye. Whaaat! Forget the DineLA menu! Essentially its the same type of combo. You get appetizer, entrée, and a dessert! It is about $ 5 – 10 more depending what size ribeye you get(you are already spending $ 50+ a meal why not upgrade and treat yourself out!) For the appetizer I didn’t know if I wanted the house salad or the Tomato Bisque. Nicole was like no way your getting the salad your getting the tomato bisque. I decided to get the 16oz ribeye! Then the chocolate dessert Tomato Bisque. The only time I ever heard of Tomato Bisque, and it was from the episode of Family Guy. I’m SO glad Nicole convinced me to get this dish instead of the salad. It came with a cheese bread in the middle. Oh my gosh, the initial sip I took blew my mind. I sat that and was like wow, please give me a whole pot of this stuff. Breaking off the cheese bread and combined with the soup. Heavenly. Rich decadent creamy soup. Definitely recommend you get it! Ribeye. I got it medium rare while my friends got it rare+ which is in between rare and medium rare. It came out on a sizzling plate with butter melting in its glorious habitat. I started from the corner and was like wait this looks like medium and Nicole reassured me that the outer edges cooked quicker and as I got towards the center I started to see the blood! Mo blood mo flavor! Tender, juicy, buttery, melt in your mouth bites. Mash Potatoes. Mash Potatoes and steak just go together perfectly. I don’t care what you say but mash potatoes for all my steak! It was the creamy, smooth, garlicly and buttery mash. Nicole saw how we finished the potatoes right away and brought out another plate for us just cause! Amazing. Dessert. I’m not sure what dessert it was exactly, it was some dark chocolate cake with some berries on the side. I’m not a fan of dark chocolate but it was still good. Not overly bitter nor sweet. It some dark rich chocolate. I had a bite of my friends Crème brûlée and it was sweet, creamy and just outright ! Our waitress Nicole. FANTASTIC. Best service I have ever received. Any questions I threw at her about what I should choose for the meal she had a detail explanation of why I should/shouldn’t get it. She would constantly check up on us and said if there’s anything she could do for us. If we didn’t like something she offered to switch it out. But we loved everything. We joked around and she really made us feel welcome. She told us stories on how people confuse her with Amy Poehler while we were waiting for our food! She kinda does look like her! Honestly what made this restaurant trip the best was Nicole.

I’m really disappointed by my experience and sad to give them only 3 stars. 2 for service/experience, maybe 4 for food. It was surprisingly easy to make a reservation online/on Unilocal app only a day ahead of time. We came early and found $ 5 parking structure. And waited until our reservation time to be seated. Everyone seems nice but you can tell they’re super busy. We had to ask for more bread a couple times, didn’t get that too quickly. And there was a long wait between courses! Service was sooo slow, not acceptable for prices they charge. We had to wait more than 15 minutes after we finished our main course to ask for our dessert to be bagged to go and for the check. The bread & plates did come out sizzling hot! Literally bubbling. I see how that’s cool and all but homie I’m hungry! I wanna eat now and not wait for my food to cool down! The butter was super soft and I ate a ton with my bread. We went during dineLA with the $ 49 fixed price menu. I chose the yellow tomato bisque for my starter and it was good. Buut the party was in the biscuit in the middle of the soup! It had to be more cheese than biscuit, loved it! Could’ve just ate a bunch of those for my meal. My bf got the steak salad, meh. For the main dish I got filet & lobster pinwheel. Steak didn’t impress me, but man the lobster was buttery deliciousness. Bf got New York steak. He was not impressed! He hated the quality of the meat, it had way too much fat. He is a snob though and prefers grass fed beef. Which he also feeds to the dog. I was excited for my corn pudding side and didn’t love it. My bf did though! Said it reminded him of his homeland(Colombia). It was very sweet. I liked his mashed potatoes, prob bc it was drenched in buttah! Obvs I’m not hard to impress. Just throw butter & cheese on everything! So we were stuffed after all this! Took our cheesecakes home and he ate most of both mine & his after barely digesting, I tried some and wish I didn’t. Didn’t like it at all, I’ve never turned down cheesecake before. So I will def not be back sadly. The biscuit & lobster are not worth the trouble. Way over priced for what you get here.

I came here with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We had reservations, so no wait for a party of 6 on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant was aware of the special occasion and wished him a happy birthday throughout the night. I really appreciated that because the whole team, from host to server, was aware of it. This shows great communication amongst the employees. Majority of us got the classic, which is a 3 course meal for either $ 45 or $ 55, depending on what you chose as the main course. For appetizers, my whole table got the lobster bisque, which was merely ok. It was wayyy too salty, it must be the ocean water from the lobster. I also prefer it to be creamier. I got the fillet mignon with shrimp while the rest of the table got rib eye. And I must say, I should’ve gotten the rib eye as well. It was so good here! My dad got the cowboy rib eye(which is bone in rib eye) and it was so flavorful !! I prefer the rib eye here over lawrys rib eye. The fillet mignon was not that impressive, it was a bit tougher than I expected. For dessert, we had a super rich chocolate cheesecake. Overall, they get 4 stars for the bomb rib eye and excellent service! Our server was super busy but remained friendly and attentive. He even got my mom appetizer and dessert, on the house, although she didn’t order the 3 course meal. Small gestures like this keeps customers coming because it really doesn’t cost much to give an extra salad or cheesecake. But you won our hearts!

Went there with the full of happiness, came out with the full of disappointment. Ordered Filet mignon, T-bone steak, asparagus, sweet potato, spicy lobster and bbq shrimp. Meat was just ok. Asparagus was too much cooked. Our server forgot to bring the spicy lobster. I reminded him twice. He brought French fries a lot twice to our table as an apology. What? I didn’t want to have French fries. I wanted the spicy lobster. The server didn’t bring it finally until I paid and charged me the spicy lobster. I asked our server to take out the spicy lobster from the bill. He asked if I want more French fries. Wth!!! If I didn’t check the bill, I would pay for something I didn’t get. If you are in Pasadena, just go to Huston. Or drive more and go to Mastro, Cut or BOA.

Took my son for his 20th bday dinner! It was so cute they printed his menu with his name on it. Probably the best steak I have ever had. The side dishes may be a little over hyped, but very good also. So i had the petite rib eye, my son the bigger rib eye, and my mom the sun dried tomato and basil crusted swordfish… All top notch, juicy, and flavorful! For sides we all shared the cesar salad, grilled asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and lobster mac n cheese. Of course they threw in some beautiful dessert for the bday boy… Not sure what it was but it doesn’t matter. Our waiter was awesome and it was a really nice night!

I usually don’t update reviews cause my rating never really changes, however, this is one time that I needed to I decided to take my friend here for her birthday. We had reservation for 4 at 6:45. I love being on time. I hate to wait. I checked in at 6:40. They said our table will be ready soon. No problem. We were still waiting at 7:05, I checked again and the hostess told me sorry, the table was taking a little bit longer than expected. I was a bit hangry but I was so surprise that the manger came over to personal apology. They were super sweet and did everything to make the waiting easier. I ordered the 3 course meal. Everything was super delicious. My steak was cook perfectly. My favorite of the night was the lobster mac and cheese. This is the best I ever had. It was nice and creamy. We were also able to upgrade all our individual dessert from the pre prix menu to any dessert on the menu. Saying sorry with dessert is the best. I love that they took care of us once we were seated and it ended up a great night for my friend’s birthday. Excellent management and service. I can’t wait to come back again!

Ruth’s Chris is my go-to stand-by for a solid rib eye. They truly understand how to prepare a steak rare-plus. I like the hot sizzling butter that accompanies your steak. You can request extra butter too. Service is always impeccable and the servers are genuinely nice. They all seem to have great personalities too. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Jin, Thank you for your impeccable and caring service during our dinner. You truly understand how to cater to your clients! The SERVICE: From the moment we were seated, inviting smiles and welcoming waves flooded our party from the entire staff at this conveniently placed Old Pasadena/Paseo steakhouse. Jin was sure to ask us if we any time contraints for after-dinner plans(i.e. movies, shows etc) so he could efficiently serve us. Lucky for us dinner was our main event, and Jin made sure it was a GLORIOUS affair! From his delicious wine and dine reccommendations to his easy-going, personable demeanor, Jin hit these 5 Stars all by himself. You are an indispensible asset to this steakhouse, and THE reason I will return here. He was even able to discover future The FOOD: Suggested starters were the crab cakes and calamari. If you’re a traditionalist, the calamari has a slightly sweet sauce on it, cooked in with some peppers… The lemon balances it out wonderfully, and it is a tasty treat indeed. The crab cakes… OHHH the crab cakes. No complaints here. Just delcious, freshly balls of crabby goodness. Nice and hot. Yum. Yum. Gimme some. Cowboy Ribeye — Med Rare was a juicy and tender cut, absolutely packed with flavor and cooked to climactic perfection. Jin gave our table a crash course in beef cuts, which personally I really appreciated, given that my bovine culinary education never went anywhere past a 3rd grade level. Kristofer’s Cut of the Day: If you like flavor and you eat steak properly pink, get a Cowboy Ribeye. If you like amazing service, ask for Jin.

Ruth’s Chris is still one of my favorite restaurants for many reasons! For the most part, they have one of the best happy hour menus in Pasadena! Everything is $ 8!!! The food is always on spot! The staff is friendly yet very helpful! You can never complain about their food portions! And everything is worth trying! HH menu: Prime Burger fries: A great burger for a great price! It’s one juicy and tender patty topped with your choice of cheese. Yum! Crab BLT with zucchini fries: This is a must have! The sandwich is cut in 3 and stacked with a thick layer of crab meat! It’s paired so well with the panko breaded zucchini fries! Spicy fried lobster: It has a fair serving of crispy fried lobster drizzled in sweet and spicy sauce. I personally like my lobster steamed or boiled for its original flavors. Steak sandwich fries: The steak itself was extremely tender but I think it would’ve been great without the bread. The drink menu was also great to try! I stuck with the pomegranate margarita. Sweet and refreshing! Dinner menu: The Ribeye is one of my favorites and you can’t go wrong. The marbles make each cut extremely juicy and tender. They are prepped and seasoned perfectly! For those who like the leaner cuts, the filet mignon is also a good choice. For seafood, the garlic crusted Chilean Sea Bass is my favorite go to item. I love it’s consistency. It’s creamy, buttery and flakey. Each bite melts in your mouth. Definitely worth a try! The sides come in individual orders and it’s about 3 – 4 servings per dish. I’ve always had a great time when I’m here and I’m lucky to be so close! :]

This place is really as good as it gets for many reasons. The location, its nice location along Colorado St. in Pasadena surrounded by other nice places to take a walk or visit. They have a nice lounge area to wait while you are seated. There’s also a bar to the left of the entrance if you wish to get a drink before dinner. The food here is really as good as it gets when it comes to steaks. I know there are pricier locations but to me this is the best quality for what you pay. The food is fresh, always hot, and very well prepared to what you desire. I got the sirloin steak and it was made just how I wanted it. The staff here is outstanding, I cant say enough about it honestly. Our server was very helpful, I was here for an anniversary dinner and they custom made our menus which was a perfect and very creative touch. Also our desserts had another congratulatory message on it with chocolate and you cant beat that. I would recommend this place for sure to all. Our waiter was Phil, so if he is available definitely as for him. They and he, will not disappoint you.

Second time here and loved it even more than the first time! First of all you get good tasting steak here with amazing service even though they are a franchise company. That hardly happens! Hubby brought me here for our anniversary and I was so impressed that they even presented us with our own customized menu… that was sweeet! I had the petite ribeye and my husband and I shared the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes. Our waiter was the best!!! Since he knew it was our anniversary he brought us personalized desserts due to our preferences. He brought us a crème brûlée and bread pudding saying happy anniversary along with two glasses of champagne. Did he really have to do that? No but he did and he earned extra brownie points with that one.
