Not so good, food was low quality, the service was absolutely bottom of the barrel, not sure how they are still around, don’t waste your time or your money…

The place is your usual diner/local hangout where everyone comes to! The staff was super nice, friendly and attentive. The place is almost divey, nothing hip about it! But the food. Breakfast burrito(50 – 50 chorizo and sausage) best thing i’ve had for breakfast in a long time, perfectly moist eggs, potatoes and meat… super flavorful! I was so busy with my burrito dont remember what others ate :)(I think it was combination of french toasts and corned beef hash). The plates were all polished off so it must have been good.

A local place largely devoid of locals for Monday morning breakfast… not a good sign. Ordered eggs over easy and they arrived over hard. Bacon had been pre-cooked and held(a common practice). Sigh. Attentive service from the one waitress who was working solo with the cook. This place is okay, but there are better options… like Taste of Paso around the corner.

We came here from the Unilocal reviews that mentioned gluten free options. I was not disappointed! For the first time in 10 years I was able to have gf French toast. Our coffee never got cold and the service was great. We totally recommend sitting at the counter. We are leaving satisfied with full bellies.

Smuckers jam, non-dairy creamer, Bunn-O-Matic coffee and shabby(not even remotely chic) diner ambiance. All that would be fine if I weren’t charged $ 8.25 for two eggs and toast. At those prices in a nice touristy town in the heart of California’s agricultural country, I except more. Service was pleasant but spotty. I wish I had tried elsewhere.

I used to come here with my parents(in the 80’s) when I was very little and now I come here with my own family. There are few«staple» restaurants in Paso that have staying power but Vic’s is one of them. You feel like family when you come in here and I’ve always had friendly servers and good food. As a local in the area, I have seen many businesses come and go, there’s a reason this one has been around for as long as it has, so you should come check it out. I can’t speak for dinners here as I’m more of a breakfast/lunch gal.

This morning we went to Vic’s for our monthly breakfast. We had called ahead, due to the size of our group(8). The table was waiting and our server was right there with hot coffee & menus. We each ordered something different off the menu. Our food came out quickly & just the way we had ordered it. The size of the meal was great & the prices were reasonable. The restaurant has been here for years but this was the first time our gang decided to try breakfast. Next time a few of us are thinking about ordering one of the daily specials. Somehow we missed that on our way into the place. Next time we’ll be looking for it.

Cute old school diner in the middle of downtown Paso. Had an enchilada omlette which was okay, served with plenty of home-style potatoes. The service was good. My friend had pancakes which were really good. Pick Vic’s, not Denny’s:)

This was such a cute little local diner! It was fun to find something quaint and homey. The staff was very attentive and filled your coffee often. We had the scramble and pancakes and both were very good.

Solid effort from a local diner. Good selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reasonable prices and excellent, friendly service. Quality of food was good, choice of wine was good; nothing particularly outstanding.

In a community were there are lots of great breakfast joints Vics Café is among the top ten in my book. They are open tell 2 pm everyday. French Toast is as simple as possible but absolutely delicious. One of my favorite lunches is the Hot Turkey Sandwich, tender roasted turkey on smothered in delicious turkey gravy server with mashed potatoes. Great diner food. Service is excellent. Definitely a locals favorite.

Left immediately. This place must survive on the crotchety old men that congregate here early in the morning and discuss drama on the farm. Staff is rude. Particularly the old lady. Only came here because the Hatch next door was closed. We waited patiently for a table to be cleaned while the staff chatted with one another. The waitress scolded us for putting a child seat at the end of the table as there were no other accommodations or staff to assist. Sucks, stay away.

First thanks fellow Unilocalers for helping me find this Gem! I can’t tell you how excellent this place is! I order a vics mcmuffin and a cup of coffee. Omgeeeeee how they manage to make an English muffin melt in your mouth while giving you a «crunch» is beyond me! The egg was fluffy, hash browns extra crispy, the best English muffin I have ever eaten. I had no intention of leaving behind the garnish only but hot damn this place is great. Coffee excellent so much flavor and no need for creamer or Splenda! I savored my meal to the last bite and drop!

I really enjoy coming here. I wouldn’t say it is the healthiest place to eat, but a great place to get a hearty breakfast for a reasonable price. My boyfriend often gets the chicken fried steak, and I usually stick with their Denver omelette. Their service is great because the gals that work as waitresses are super friendly and always make you feel welcomed.

This is a cute little restaurant. It was filled with older locals, which typically means it is a good spot with decently priced food and satisfactory portions. We went for dinner and were very pleased. My Dad ordered the prime rib special(which is a great deal) shortly before they sold out Saturday night. [This was at 5:30 mind you!] I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was flavorful and the portion size was good. My Dad raved and raved about how delicious his prime rib dinner was, and for the price he got a HUGE amount of food. The iced tea was very good and I never had to ask for a refill as they were prompt about coming over and offering prior to our glasses being empty. He ordered a slice of lemon meringue pie and I ordered a slice of the peach raspberry pie. Both were very tasty. This is(in my opinion) one of the last down home restaurants available in Paso that doesn’t charge exorbitant fees for the food or cater solely to tourists. This is a place that will please both the local and tourist palate.

So Vic’s has been around for a while. Mainly flourishing on being the least bad breakfast place in a area of really bad breakfast places like cowgirl café. If in the area Chicos is best then Joe’s. We came in on mothers day and got a spot in line. We waited as everyone ahead of us then everyone behind us was seated. Bigger parties smaller parties. Even when we were the last group after waiting a hour and 20 minutes when everyone else waited 10 minutes, the hostess came out and said our group of six had to let other people’s group of six go. With no explanation. Finally as our table opened the hostess friends showed up and said hey can you get us in? And gave these people our table. Just the most unprofessional service ever. In addition the food has always been subpar. Mass produced cheap ingredients to save a dollar. It has no appeal to me as someone who likes a place that builds it’s reputation on quality and service ice instead of hook ups and a cheap egg. I couldn’t stress my lack of interest in ever eating here again. Over 8 Yeats I’ve been here 3 times and had horrible food the first two times and horrible service the third. I won’t make the mistake of giving them the benefit of the doubt again. So if looking for breakfast here’s you’re best bets; Chicos La Mexicana Joes Place McClintock Vic’s Cowgirl Café

We arrived in Paso Robles just in time for lunch. After eating seafood almost everyday since arriving in California, we were looking for a something different. We were actually in the mood for some good old diner food, and when we stumbled upon Vic’s Café, we knew we had come to the right place. When you walk into Vic’s you pick up on the diner feel. There is a row of booths, then some tables and ubiquitous lunch counter. Unlike most diners, being in the heart of wine country — this one even offers wine! We weren’t here for the wine though, we were here for a classic hamburger. We both chose burgers. I got the classic cheeseburger with regular fries and hubs got the country burger which included bacon and a fried egg! Instead of regular fries, he chose sweet potato. The burgers arrived quickly and were served with pickles, a slice of tomato, red onions and lettuce. They were everything we were in the mood for! While I loved my cheeseburger, I have to admit that I was a bit jealous watching hubs sink his teeth into his bacon and egg adorned burger. The waitress was attentive, kept our water glasses filled and checked back with us often. A great place for some classic food!

A nice diner and becoming a part of Paso Robles good down home cooking for breakfast. I had the breakfast burrito and it was a nice simple breakfast burrito. The service was very good, the people are very friendly and I think I need to give it a shot for lunch as well. very clean and oh my does the pie selections look good.
