I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love this place. The management, the kitchen staff, the servers and the bartenders are simply top notch. I’ve become a regular here. I love the food, the drinks and the decency I’ve encountered among the patrons. Bring a ton of your friends with you. You won’t be disappointed!

Very friendly staff and clientele. We had dinner and a few cocktails. Menu is high end bar food, sandwiches, salads, etc. well prepared and reasonably priced. Very nice(and convenient) place to hang out before and after a show at the Patchogue Theatre which was what brought us here.

I came here yesterday for my first time and I was pleased with the entire meal from start to finish. I really appreciate a place that gives you something to nosh on right away and I really like when the staff(Rachael) can give some great feedback about the food and drinks. I can wait to go back again.

Went last night for date night. Loved the chips and dipping sauce we were given when we sat down. The Buffalo wontons were great and our meals were perfectly cooked. This was our first time here and we will be back.

Was waiting for a friend from out of town who had gotten lost and got a table for two. Sat at a table alone and thirsty for 15 minutes until I was finally offered a drink(coincidentally not until my friend arrived). The best part was being literally one of two tables in the entire restaurant — it was not busy. I ordered the chipotle pesto shrimp with white corn cake. Shrimp was delicious, corn cake was eh, and now I want to go to Wendy’s and have a baconator to actually satiate my hunger because the portion sizes here suck.

Perfect!!! Staff was excellent, my sangria was delicious, we had the Mac and cheese which is always amazing. Goat cheese pastrami on soda bread was as amazing and so unique. Tuna w savory pumpkin cheesecake was an unexpected pairing but outstanding. The pumpkin was incredibly light and fluffy. Can’t wait to come back and try more specials from this amazing chef! The worst thing was we don’t know if we can ever get those specials again!

DONOTGIVETHISPLACEBUSINESS. THEYHATEVETERANS. We have a group of twenty people and one of our friends just came with a white shirt on and refused his entrance because of the shirt. We indicated that we had a huge group and they didn’t care at all What made it worse is that yet another friend came to join us and he was wearing a camo shirt. He was refused as well and we asked«hey he just came back from deployment, even for a veteran?» The bouncers said no. I am leaving with the whole group immediately. I would ask that you don’t come support any business that doesn’t support our military. This place is a disgrace.

Ive always enjoyed public house, classy bar. Till now. They were a little too messy last night for a night out on the town. I went out of the bar with a friend to have a smoke and as we walked back in we had to pay the cover charge again! Even though we had stamps on our hands! 30 $ down the drain. They just need their bouncers to be more organized. Especially their nasty bouncer Felix. I truly hope he is never working when I(if i ever) go back.

3.5 stars for Public House. Not sure how I’ve avoided coming here for so long. But we eat in the area all the time and just finally had a chance to pop in this weekend. Ambiance seemed nice. We came early so it was somewhat quiet and comfortable. Service was fine. Drinks were good. On to the food… We started off with Tuna Tartare Tacos and a really unusual beet salad that was delicious. I would order both again. For dinner I couldn’t decide so went with a bacon cheeseburger. It was average, not bad but didn’t shine like some burgers I’ve had from some of their close by competitors. My wife tried their Reuben sandwich which she said was ok. Their fries are very fresh and tasty. Overall the food was good. Apps stood out the most. I’m sure we will be back to try more.

I came here for the first time last Friday for dinner with my mother, and to be honest we only ended up there because our originally intended location had too long of a wait. What a nice find! First thing I noticed was the décor, the place is beautiful with great attention to detail. There are two bars, and there are garage doors that separate the side dining room from the main bar area. From the ceilings and light fixtures to the barstools and even the bathrooms, everything in this place is just PRETTY. Our waitress was super nice and everything came out quickly. I had a salmon dish with capers, risotto and broccolini and it was amazing. The table next to us heard me raving about it and they both ended up ordering it too. So good. My mom had just a regular cheeseburger which she said came out great. We were too full for dessert but definitely next time. I ended up coming back on Sunday afternoon to watch a football game at the bar. Wasn’t busy, but understandably so, since they only have four tv’s and don’t have Sunday Ticket. Still, the beer was cold and the bartender was fine. The beer chalkboard is pretty sweet too, kudos to whoever drew that. I’ve seen in a lot of other reviews that this place turns into quite a nightclub atmosphere late night, which is really not my scene so I’ll stick to daytime and dinner time, but all in all I’m happy I found this place and will absolutely be back.

One of my fav bars to come to on a weekend or grab a lunch on a Sunday. A lot of people only think of this place as a bar or club scene and are really surprised to find out that they have pretty excellent food. I’ve never been here for a dinner on the weekend but I’ve come several times for lunch and never have been disappointed. Any person I’ve ever brought here has also liked the food as well. I have had the salads, hummus, burgers and the flatbreads are also a favorite. My sister fell in love with the berries and crème fraîche. Everything has always been fresh and comes out in a timely manner. I really want to try the pork belly because I’ve heard it’s really good. I love the staff here, whether you come for lunch or a late night party they are always super friendly and remember your drink order!!! Even the bouncers that work the door are super nice which is important because a lot of these people get all these crazy power trips.

This review is more for the restaurant… not so much the night life here. During not so late hours, this is a great place to grab some quality food that isn’t just bar-fare, and well made cocktails. I recently tried an awesome strawberry-basil margarita that was carefully crafted and very tasty. Last time I visited I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp dish with mango fried rice served with sriracha. The décor is modern and tasteful, and the service is on point. If you come here late on a Friday or Saturday — it’s total madness. I think it would be much better with a band rather than a DJ… but that would be my preference. Or, maybe just a better DJ ;)

This was a last minute hit when we lost power in Bayport. Took my daughter out to lunch and we had a great time. It was not busy at all and the food was really good. My daughter loved the shrimp tempura and the mozzarella of course. I have been here a long time ago and forgot about this place. Seems the menu has been face lifted and in a very good way. I will be back!

Went to this place because my intended destination(the awesome Pera Bell Food Bar) was closed for the Labor Day holiday. Staff was nice enough. The service was ok. The vibe of this place has gone sideways in the past couple of years. It was… ok before. Good place for simple food in a fairly relaxed atmosphere. And they had *fantastic* desserts — some of the best on the island. There were times when we would go other places for dinner and then go to Public House for dessert. Their pastry chef was *that* good. Then they renovated. With a focus on their *bar*. The food has gone waaaaay downhill. At warp speed. On a previous visit, my husband and I brought friends to show off those fabulous desserts — only to find that the entire menu had been completely revamped. The great desserts were gone — replaced with stuff that tasted like it had been outsourced from a 3rd party commercial bakery. A massive disappointment. This time, my husband wanted to ‘truly eat outdoors’, so we decided to give this place another shot. My husband and I split the ‘appetizer’ size portion of the mac & cheese(one of this place’s few signature dishes). It tasted like they were cutting corners on the cheese sauce. The sauce was fresh enough — but it wasn’t *cheese* sauce. It was white sauce with cheese thrown in after the fact. Served in a cast iron skillet that was clearly for decorative purposes only in order to make it ‘look’ like a baked mac & cheese. I’ve had better mac and cheese at Noodles and Company. I was craving a burger(a Pera Bell specialty), so I ordered the burger while my husband ordered the cheese steak. It was tasty(white cheddar cheese) and a decently(to the eye) medium rare. The fries, though, were *awful*. Limp, lukewarm and tasted like they had been sitting since the previous night. My husband’s cheesesteak was ‘ok’ — what there was of it. The roll only seemed to have meat in half the sandwich. The complimentary ‘bottle’ of tap water tasted like it came from the rusted out pipes in my bathroom. I ordered iced tea to wash the taste out — it was cloudy, bitter and tasted like it had been made days earlier(with the teabags left in it). My husband said his coffee tasted like mud. And to top it off… at the end of my meal… I got nauseous. *Really* nauseous. I’m sitting on my couch trying to settle my stomach while I write this review nauseous. Whether it was just me or the food, I don’t know… but my strong suspicion is the food. This will probably sum up my feelings about Public House: a group of a half-dozen or so people walked by after discovering that Pera Bell was closed. One person in the group suggested going to Public House as an alternative. The ‘leader’ of the group declared that she liked the food better at the nearby Village Idiot Pub. My husband and I both butt into their on-the-street conversation to make sure that they went to Village Idiot and avoided the mistake that we were in the progress of making. And I’m writing the review to make sure that you do the same. Public House’s entire vibe can be summed up as «we’re trying to be Pera Bell and doing a horrible job of it. Here, have a drink.» If you can get into Pera Bell, go there. If you can’t, go down the block to the better-than-it-has-any-right-to-be Village Idiot Pub. Or go one block down to some of the other spectacular restaurants on the other side of Ocean Avenue(Meetball Place, Del Fuego, Bobbique, etc.) But don’t go here. I know I won’t. Ever again.

The vibe is very cool and the décor is a cool mix of industrial meets rustic. I ordered the lollipop wings and they were undercooked. We also ordered the pizza app which was good. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. I had asked for my lollipop wings to be cooked a little more crispy and the came back great and with a smile. This showed good customer service. For the entrees we had the fried chicken with biscuits and gray and the short ribs. Both were ok. The short ribs were slightly over cooked for my liking. Both dishes were presented nicely. Their signature drinks(Esp the cucumber lime margarita) are amazing with great presentation and taste. Overall an OK place.

VERY nice bar staff. I got in with a bartender early in the night and she took amazing care of keeping my drinks full the entire night. All I had to do was make eye contact and she would skip over all the riff raff in front of the line. I didn’t like paying Manhattan prices for beer in middle of nowhere Long Island. This place has a major identity crisis. Is it a restaurant? A bar? A club? WHYARETHEYPLAYINGSEINFELDONTHEDANCEFLOOR?! I don’t get it at all. I don’t understand Long Island and its venues at all in general. Don’t come.

Public House, you had so much potential! What a beautiful looking restaurant, and the bathrooms? Very cool, I really liked the sink. Such a large space and with the interior garage doors and two bars can make this space very fun for a large party. The food? I ordered the Continental Burger. It comes topped with a fried egg and brisket. I assumed the brisket was the meat blend. Nope. Picture making bacon that’s not fully cooked. Are you with me so far? its limp and fatty. Now put that big fat, fat piece under the egg. Yuck… I took it off and changed the burger. Kinda expensive for $ 15 bucks. The flatbread was good but it was a large appetizer. It’s good enough for 3 people. I had a belly bomb mess after I left here. I’m not a fan, I’ll never come back.
