Wow wat an experience where to start? Not a single person was wearing gloves no hair nets what’s so ever and all the workers have long hair not done yet the two workers that are prepping the food are out of this world disrespect and dirty the food was made in a extremely poor and careless matter, let’s move on to worker #3 the line cook/dishwasher/chef long hair sweatpants and T-shirt what an image, he goes to the chicken that was be heated up for our sandwiches and he casually takes a few pieces and starts eating licks his fingers and goes ahead and eats a little more then takes out chicken that is full of his saliva and starts making out sandwiches. It didn’t end there there was a huge pot of rice boiling this same guy comes along after he was just cleaning some dirty plates stands over this pot takes a huge poon of rice and starts blowing at it taking a bit in his hand licking off the rice from his palm and goes back again for another taste after he blows some more at this spoon takes the left over rice and throwers it in the pot and continues mixing the rice like nothing… I hope this saves you from avoiding this store and a huge disappointment. (STAYAWAY)

Absolutely the best place in Patterson, take that back that I have been to in the world. Maybe the Syrian restaurants in Egypt are the only thing that comes close.

Got the lamb sharma, kebab shwarma, kufta shwarma, hummus, and baba ghanoush. I really enjoyed the lamb and kufta shwarmas. The meat and seasonings were really good, they weren’t trying too hard or overloaded with sauce. I really liked the hummus. Everything else was okay. Service was a little unwelcoming but food was good.

If I am ever in Paterson, or even passing by, I will stop in for the Shawarma. I’ve worked in and out of the area for ages. Looks can be deceiving — the area looks dicey but it is a fine, working class neighborhood. I’ve eaten in several of the restaurants up and down Main street. Al — Kumah is my favorite. As for the food — simply mouth-watering. Very fresh tasting, generous portions and lively spices.

This is honestly my go-to spot for Middle Eastern food in Paterson. Whether you want to cater for a large party or just sit down and have a feast for lunch at a very fair price, Al Kumah is the spot! The Kufta Kebob, Shawerma, hummus, falafel and Grape Leaves are my favorites! If you like spicy food, definately ask for the shatta pepper sauce! Being in this spot reminds you of being in the actual Middle East, 0 English being spoken and arabic TV with either the news or soccer on. The place is also a butcher for the local community and businesses, so you are also able to purchase quality meat to grill yourself at home. Dont mind the lamb being sawed into peices while your enjoying your meal, its part of the experience! Service is the only thing that needs work but regardless the staff is pleasant and friendly!

A simple working-class neighborhood restaurant, frequented mostly by local Arab immigrants, their families snd children. Not at all glamorous but busy and popular. News in Arabic on the TV above. Simple but authentic, delicious Arab specialties. A great way to visit the Middle East without the airfare, religious fanatacism or sectarian violence. A great place to drop in if you’re hungry and up for an authentic ethnic food experience plus a reminder of what makes this country strong and great: our roots in so many different lands and cultures!

The kufta kabob sandwich with a side of garlic butter. Do it. I’m telling you, you will not regret it. All of the sandwiches here are excellent. This restaurant is by far the best spot for shawarma/kufta kabob sandwiches in Paterson and Clifton. Fresh meat, perfect seasoning, the food is just mouthwatering and CHEAP. Super cheap. You cant go wrong with $ 3.50 sandwiches. Seriously. AND the inside décor isn’t as dive-y as it used to be, they renovated well. If your girl is a foodie, great spot to take, also great for families. One concern is make sure you are clear in your order, most of the people(if not all) are native Arab speakers so there is a language barrier. But totally worth any bit of confusion. Go here and eat whatever is on the menu with confidence.

The good: the traditional arabic peppered bread(dibs flayflay), also the hummos and Kabab. The bad: the place needs to be much cleaner it was just way to dirty for me. Judge for yourself and walk in. Overall it was good but not great and could be cleaner. 3 stars.

Felt like trying a new spot for Arabic food so I walked in here. It doesn’t look like much, but you can see the meats grilling directly behind the counter. The service was pretty bad and the restaurant looks pretty dirty, but I like the falafel here more than over at Al-Basha. The falafel balls are more moist on the inside. The tahini sauce served with the falafel reminded me greatly of grape leaves. Shawarma was also very good, with a nice char. The portions are a bit smaller for the same price though.

Ok. 1) The food is excellent. Best in terms of taste. 2) Service is horrible. Ambiance is bland. 3) The price is reasonable. 4) Use this place for take out. 5) They have SPICY falafel sandwich, upon request.

Great little shop where the key word is SIMPLICITY. Their Hummous is lovely, though a bit heavy on the olive oil, it’s smooth and delicious. The raw kibbe is decent, though a bit over-spiced for my tastes. It was nicely formed into small cubes, almost resembling actual pieces of cut beef. The köfte kebab is quite delicious. One order for ten dollars gets you SIX kebabs over rice with some grilled veggies on the side. there’s also a fun little pita bread treat on top with onion and parsley. A great shop that’s worth giving a try! Definitely some bang for your buck!

THISPLACEISTHEBOMB –It may be a hood spot but they have great shwarmas, platters, kabobs, falafel, etc. Get the BEEF Shwarma, the Falafel platter appetizer, any STEAK(T_BONE) and the Al-Kumah Platter-my favorite. ask for hot sauce and white sauce. I get the Al=Kumah platter because you get, –steak –chicken –lamb –grilled tomato and onion –rice –and grilled spicy pita for like $ 9.50! ANDDDD try the T-BONE Steak! They will literally cut your steak off a half of chuck of beef right in the restaurant with a saw, and will throw it right on the grill. for only $ 9.50!!! with rice and onion&tomato(grilled) –just dont get the yogurt drink-its an acquired taste. GOHERE!
