Food is very well prepared and tasty. Buffet had great variety of good stuff. Very reasonable prices were just a bonus. Lots of local folks here; they know what’s good!

I really want to like this place because its 5 min from my house but they can’t seem to get anything right. My husband and I have been to Copper Grill many times and have been very disappointed every time. My husband ordered the steak wrap I had chicken strips. I was brought my meal and was told that they burnt my husbands and had to start over. It took them another 15 min to redo his order. By they time it finally came it definitely was not worth the wait even for free. The next time I ordered the hot beef so gross. I took it home and my dog wouldn’t even eat it. The soup is bland most likely warmed from a can. They can’t even get breakfast right. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy on another trip. No tast no seasoning. Hash browns were cold and over cooked. I ordered over easy eggs and they we’re hard. The only thing that is OK is the salad bar but it’s not worth the price. I really wish this place could get it together because it’s right down the road but I cant get my husband to give it any more chances.

Had Sunday breakfast there this past weekend. First, waitress didn’t tell me, nor did I see a sign, that there was a breakfast buffet. I don’t know the price but I do know they had everything at the buffet I may have wanted for breakfast. My order took twenty minutes. Meanwhile, many others came in and immediately were getting food from the buffet and were done eating by the time my breakfast arrived. The food was bland.

The craving for a cheezburger can strike at any time– lucky for me, the rest of the family was in the mood to go out and get something. Deciding to actually go in a sit-down restaurant instead of just hitting the drive-throughs for once, we decided upon the Copper Grille. We encountered our first difficulty in just getting through the blasted door– so much that we almost thought the place was closed, or that they were simply hosting an event– but no, a little effort simply revealed that the inside door was just stuck, and required a hunk of elbow grease to knock loose just so we could enter the restaurant. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip– maybe it was karma, or the spirit of Ray Kroc or Dave Thomas trying to keep me from making a mistake– but foolishly, I pressed on. The restaurant is clean enough, but it just doesn’t feel like there were enough workers for all the tables. There are a couple of TVs, but… yeah, this place isn’t a lot of fun to look around in– today’s view included a massive self-service buffet, a number of harried servers, and more than one table that needed a good bussing. We got a booth, and to be quite honest… it felt like I was sitting on a box-spring with no mattress. I got familiar with every spring pushing up on that seat, and it took a bit to get an acceptable seat– acceptable as in ‘no springs jabbing sensitive bits too painfully’. Opt for a table if you can. When it came time to order, the three of us ordered different things– I opted for the hamburger(as always), L opted for the«Two by Two» with white toast, and S opted for the Copper Skillet with white toast. Our orders went in, our food came, and we had very mixed results as far as taste. S remarked that their Copper Skillet seemed loaded to the brim, and could easily feed two people or one big eater. It seemed that it was a very good value for eight bucks. It consisted of a small mountain of hash browns, ham, cheese, eggs, sausage gravy and other things I’m sure I forgot about. It’s not really health food, but there’s a LOT of stuff crammed in there. L’s Two by Two was«generally all right», but they wished that more options existed. Finally… I got what I was after… unfortunately enough. I ought to have taken the hint from the door and gone elsewhere for a burger– what I got, for seven bucks, was… really, REALLY not worth it.(Actually, considering I had to make it a deluxe burger just for lettuce and tomato… eight bucks.) The bun on the burger was so dry and toasted that it was beginning to fall apart– it separated into two pieces before I was halfway done with the burger. I mean, I don’t mind a good toasted bun, but let’s remember something– the bun is there to hold everything in the burger still inside the burger. The few leaves of lettuce and the single slice of tomato were NOT worth the extra buck I paid for it, and honestly, most burger places give you lettuce and tomato right off the bat, no questions asked– asking a dollar for a few leaves of lettuce and a single slice is, to be honest, ridiculous. The burger patty was crunchy in places, due to being pretty much cooked to death on a griddle. To be honest, the only time a crunchy cheezburger ever ought to be acceptable is if someone comes out with a Happycat-themed breakfast cereal. With the exception of good bacon, meat should never be crunchy. Alas, this one was, and with the double-handful of fries on the plate as a side, I came to a couple of conclusions– 1) The burger and fries combo here is, most assuredly, NOT worth seven or eight bucks– barely even half that. For eight bucks, I could have had a good-sized combo from one or at least four other burger places not more than a few hundred feet away. 2) Whatever they’re spending money on there, it’s most certainly not the booths. 3) The décor leaves a lot to be desired– it turns out that they sell small, kitschy home decorations there, which really doesn’t fit with the rest of the business– you’re not Cracker Barrel. Focus on food and you’ll make more money. After mulling everything over, I can’t justify more than two stars. If everywhere else you want to eat is full up, go here as a last resort.

I really can’t see anything wrong with this place. The wait staff are friendly and quick, the food is really tasty and the price is right! My wife and I left this place feeling like we just had dinner at grandma’s stuffed to the good and we spent $ 31 bucks. That’s two people two dishes a piece with drinks and sides. Not to mention the food is good. They keep it simple here and they do it well. I love this place as it’s the closest thing to a New York City style diner that I’ve found here in Michigan. I recommend it for the whole family

My friend, her mother and myself went to eat at The Copper Grille. We were expecting a very friendly ‘family — like’ environment. The lady that seated us had a real attitude problem from the get-go. We asked to be seated at a different booth and she threw a fit, tossed our silverware and menus down on the table we sat at, and said ‘Fine, someone else can be your server.’ We got a more friendlier waitress. She gave us our drinks then went into the back. We overheard our waitress saying ‘Why don’t you just spit in their food?’ The lady that we had before said, ‘I just might.’ We were going to ask for a manager, to complain. What threw us over the roof was our waitress shoving her face full of food. Behind the counter where everyone could see her! We left. We will not be coming back and I highly recommend not eating here. This is a very unprofessional business with very disrespectful people.

We had the seafood buffet tonight. What a disappointment. It was very poorly stocked and many of thevitems were not available. In addition service left much to be desired. We had to fill our own drinks the first time despite there being very few customers. When we alerted management ofnour disappointment she stated that our server should have alerted us that he buffet would not be restocked. When we stated she did not she said sorry as though it was too bad for is. She did discount the bill however did not seem to care that their staff had failed. We will not be going back.

The billboard caught our eye, so we dropped in. Scary retro big boy look, fairly high prices. Cold, long wait and food that is cafeteria grade. Skip this one.

I ate at the Copper Grille for the first time yesterday with my family. They had a chicken dinner buffet available and it looked good so all but one in my group had that(which came with the salad bar). The salad bar was good, everything looked fresh and they had lots of toppings. The chicken buffet was good, the food was hot and it tasted very good. One person in my group ordered a grilled sandwich and he said it was delicious. The waitress was attentive and the restaurant was clean. I saw the chef guy come out and check/refill the buffet. Overall for a down-home meal I would go to the Copper Grille again.

I was going to give this 2 stars and then realized I hadn’t had an experience I liked here. Bad buffet. Mediocre breakfast. Your grandma probably would eat here though.

Food was pretty good, the prices were reasonable. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. The décor was dated, but the focus on locally sourced ingredients makes up for it by a long shot. We enjoyed our meal and will stop again the next time we pass through.

We pull up on a Sunday during a road trip, place was not overly busy and we were seated right away. Then the waiting began. Finally after asking our hostess if we could have some service she turns to the woman who had been sitting in the booth behind us with her kids watching is look around for help the whole time! Turns out she’s the owner/manager/part-time employee who took our order but didn’t bother to write it down so she got it wrong, food was brought out 25 mins later and it was cold and wrong. We asked for water & hot sauce but no one brought any so finally my wife asked the same owner/manager/part-time employee to take her meal off the bill. Then she made some half-hearted attempt to apologize by saying the kitchen was backed up. That doesn’t explain the lack of attention by HER since she was the one working that area. It’s easy to blame the kitchen but when the place is about half full and the service is terrible then it’s time to look in the mirror. Instead of trying to look busy and stopping every 5 minutes to text on your cell phone you should actually try to help the people who want to give you their hard earned money.

These four stars are for the renovations they did to the place, the service, and the cheap prices of the food. The food itself is iffy and you need to find what you like best and do a little taste testing to find what dishes are good and what ones aren’t. Personally, I love their chicken wraps, so that is a usual meal for me. My grandpa and I had the breakfast buffet this morning, and it left something to be desired. The price was cheap, but the food was just so-so. Bacon was a little too salty, scrambled eggs tasteless, biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were a little too dry. If I ate the salty bacon with the eggs, or the gravy with the eggs, then it all actually tasted really good, otherwise everything was a little too(insert complaint here). The mini cinnamon rolls were good, as were the french toast sticks, but they weren’t anything you couldn’t have thrown into an oven or microwave and made yourself. Overall I think this place has some really good meals that you have to find for yourself, but their breakfast(at least their breakfast buffet) is not that great. So stick to ordering from the menu and skip the breakfast buffet.

Nice friendly Staff. Tables and everything always look very clean. The Buffet, soup and salad bar always have a good selection, rotating daily. The soups are nice.
