Don’t order drive thru… They put the most unappealing pieces of meat in those plates!

If I could give Big Horn 0 stars I would. This is my third time venturing here, and I’m not at all impressed. I ordered sliced brisket and needless to say it tastes as if it were boiled, it had no flavor, and the cuts of meat that I received consisted of mostly fat. I honestly figured that the first 2 times that I went there were just bad days and that eventually I would get some great smoked meat from this radiant place with such ambiance. Unfortunately I was wrong, and very disappointed to say the least. I don’t appreciate spending so much money, to receive so little in return. I will not be returning.

I don’t have enough experience with Big Horn BBQ to give them a 5-star rating right off the bat, but there are several things I like about the place here in Pearland, Texas. Design and décor are great(5 out of 5 in that regard) and the couple of dishes I’ve tried have been very good. Brisket was very good(nice and tender with great smoked flavor), they have an excellent BBQ sauce served with their meats, as well as a solid menu selection. We have ordered out from them on a couple of occasions, and in the restaurant I’ve ordered the stuffed baked potato topped with brisket(very good). I found service to be good and staff friendly. Prices are mid-range, so you don’t have to spend a lot of money for a good meal. As a side note, we pick up «sides» from Big Horn BBQ on occasion. Most recently, for Memorial Day we picked up a gallon of their potato salad. It is excellent! I know there are many different tastes that folks have for their potato salad(some like potato salad that leans toward mustard, some like more of a mayonnaise taste). The balance that the Big Horn potato salad achieves would likely appeal to most people, even though I hesitate to make such a semi-blanket statement. Slight mustard flavor without being overbearing, and the potatoes have good body and not turned to mush. In any case, all of our guests loved the Big Horn potato salad, as do I. If you need sides for a family gathering or the like, don’t hesitate to go by Big Horn BBQ and pick some up.

This review is way over due, I can began by saying, I’ve travel all over the U.S. And I’ve hit every corner in Texas, but when it comes to good BBQ I’m super picky, Big horn has the best meet and Ribs I’ve ever had, the sides are very tasteful, something simple as a burger and Fries are to die for, sweet potatoes, peach cobbler, bake potatoes and the jalapeño cheese bread, fresh fresh and fresh, I’ve had Rudy’s And Goode BBQ killens and Gatlins, all good BBQs. This place is my favorite! Com and try for yourself!

I’ve been a fan since they opened… really good food. My only advice is check your food before you leave the drive thru… they often leave out something you ordered. I’ve gotten home from a long day to find my orders not complete.

BBQ was okay. Place was pretty. The food was overpriced… I should have stayed in Houston for those prices. Our food was not warm at all. I kept wanting to get up and microwave my meal to get it warmer. The customers in front of us were taking a long time to check out and the woman at the second register was on the phone and not offering to check us out. Maybe that was why my food was so cold. Customer service is not impressive but as long as you don’t have questions, you won’t really notice. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Three stars and reviews all over the place has kept me from trying this place out prior to this visit. Especially when we have the likes of Killen’s and Central Texas BBQ in Pearland, trying other places is hard to do. It was my brothers birthday, and he wanted everyone to go here. I was skeptical at first, but now, I see why people have done good reviews on this place. The restaurant is attached to a gas station. The restaurant itself is pretty big. They have the cafeteria style line like most bbq places. They have alot of options on their menu. I was tempted to try a burger, but decided to sample a few of their meats by going with the 3 meat combo. I chose sausage, pork ribs, and brisket. All of their meat was delicious. The brisket was tender and flavorful. It went well with their sweet and spicy sauce. Their sauce game is definitely on point. I usually like minimal sauce, but I doused my food with that sauce. The ribs were fall of the bone tender. The sausage was tasty as well. I went with the jambalaya rice and mac for my sides. The jambalaya rice was slightly spicy, which is always a good thing. The mac and cheese was mediocre at best. It was runny and I think boxed mac is better than the one they have. I sampled my fams food all around and did not taste anything that was bad. We bought a little bit of everything for dessert. We got banana pudding, chocolate cake, bread pudding, and a brownie. The brownie was a little disappointing. It was dry and cakey. The actual chocolate was bomb tho! That and the bread pudding will probably be things I come back for if I just have a sweet tooth. The cake was moist and perfect. The bread pudding was made like it should be. Dense, but packed with flavor. The pudding was not impressive at all. It had a grainy texture to it and barely had any banana flavor at all. Overall, a good experience. I like that it wasn’t too extremely packed and there was plenty of seating available. The food did not disappoint at all either. We will be back!

It’s a bit pricey, but the food is decent. The Big Horn salad is huge and comes with a good amount of meat. The macaroni and cheese is good and the sweet potatoes are to die for. I prefer this restaurant to a bigger name a few miles down the road.

Sunday evening dinner, arrived at about 5:30, following a 30 min drive. Did NOT meet expectations. Brisket had a nice color and smoke ring, yet had ZERO flavor. No smoke, no seasoning… nada. Sausage was mediocre at best, although the Mrs didn’t care for the multiple pieces of cartilage she bit into. The pork ribs were the highlight, tender and moist. But again were lacking simple seasoning. The potato salad received a thumbs up from Mrs, but that was it. We had baked and charro beans and rice, which were all below luke warm at best. Definitely below minimum serving temperature. All in all, the place is well layed out and clean. I just expect a LOT more from an establishment that claims to have the best!

Pretty poor BBQ overall. Sausage was thin slices which ive never seen. Not very tasty nor warm. Brisket was dry and the ribs were disappointing too. Sides were lack luster. Mac and cheese tastes like yellow water cheese. The jambalaya was ok, no real flavor, tasted a bit like Mexican rice. The banana pudding tasted like it came out of a gallon jug at a school cafeteria. Spent $ 60 for 3 meals. Definitely over priced for the amount you get and quality; would not recommend it to anyone.

Had dinner there last night and here is my review: Food: Completely overpriced. A chopped beef sandwich was $ 6.99(just the sandwich). It had a scoop of meat and the bread was hard. No drink or fries that will be an additional $ 4 My husband ordered the turkey plate which was $ 14 and was basically 3 small pieces of turkey and 2 sides, he got the macaroni and cheese, NOFLAVOR at all. Green beans were ok. Stay away from this place. I grew up eating Joe’s BBQ where even if it’s pricey there, but the food is superb and the quantity makes it worth it. Thumbs down Big Horn BBQ… I should have gone to Beef N Bun! Basically, you’re paying for the wooden benches and pretty lighting…

Awesome food ! Great family. atmosphere. One of my favorite places to eat dine in or drive thru. The hamburgers are huge and delicious. The ribs are fall off the bone good. The turkey is awesome. Fresh salads. I am a frequent eater here and recommend it to be yours as well. Only con is there is only 1 location.

I had the baked potato with chopped beef. If your worried about the size of the potato then just ask for a large one. I did and received what I wanted. The sauce is a good tomato based sauce. What I liked best was the extras that you could get as much or little as you pleased. I added pico de gallo which added a great enhancement to a staple plate. They had a large selection of drinks. Several types of tea, soda, lemonade and what looked like fruit punch. I will return.

This has become my favorite barbecue place for its good food great service. The only thing I need is for it to be closer to my house. My son loves the Mac and Cheese and he has been asking me to bring him for the past two weeks. I have seen the managers around and know they really care about the service and appearance of this location. Love it! Thanks!

Had the Loaded Potato with Brisket and a slice of pecan pie. Potato was ok but it cost $ 10. It was small and no where worth the price. The Pie was ok And cost $ 4. Overall it was OK food for pappas prices.

After passing this for two years I finally decided to give a shot. The ribs are absolutely delicious; however, the sliced brisket was dry and lacked flavor. The sweet potatoes/yams weren’t great nor was the jambalaya rice. The Mac and Cheese was nothing short of amazing. I’ll definitely go back to try the other sides but I’ve decided the ribs are the absolute best I’ve had in Pearland.

1st time checking out BBQ in Pearland and I have to say that I was generally pleased with my experience at Big Horn. My dinner consisted of a two meat combo — sliced brisket & sausage with cole slaw &BBQ beans. The brisket was smoky and tender and the sauce that accompanied it paired well with it. The sausage was tasty but not too greasy or filled with unsavory bits. The sides, too, were fine. The beans were sweet and zesty and the slaw offered a nice change in texture & temperature from the rest of the meal. I’d say that I was pleased with the quality of the food and its preparation but everything could have used a tad more flavor. However, I can see how people would forgo the«flavor punch» and would be satisfied with a more toned-down approach to BBQ. As for the interior, it’s very spacious and had plenty of booths or tables to accommodate parties of just about any size. It’s got an old world charm to it and seems like a place you would find out in the country but without feeling too worn. We went on a Friday evening and they had a live band playing. The music was a nice touch and they thankfully didn’t play so loud that my pal I couldn’t converse without shouting. The staff here are very polite and helpful, which you almost take for granted in TX but is a nice change compared to many of the experiences I’ve had in other big cities. I’m still looking for a BBQ place I can give 5 stars to but I’ll give Big Horn a solid 3 to 3.5. I want to rate this place a little higher but will want to give it another go and try some other items before doing that. I love BBQ and so it would take something special to earn higher marks from me(not to sound obnoxious).
