Everyone on here is crazy… this place is no good… we had read the reviews and stuff and everyone said it was good or ok but its not. Three of us went to eat there and order different things and nothing was even good. After paying and getting our food we left everything after two bites and went to eat… the only good thing about it is they have the playground for the kids… i will never go back there.

While it’s not fine dining, I like Jake’s. It has a variety of dishes that please the heart-clogging customer and the more health conscious customer. I tend to get the seared tuna(nice smoky flavor, medium rare). Last time I ventured to try something new– the chicken and sausage gumbo. They didn’t skimp on the meat and it had a nice, rich flavor. My only complaint would be that it wasn’t as warm/hot as I would have liked it(although I am sure if I had mentioned it, they would have heated it up more). Also, it seems to be a kid friendly place(don’t go if you don’t want to hear lots of little ones chatting).

Food was ok. Had better. Nothing extraordinary. It was just blah. Wont go there.

Love this place. Burgers anyway Ilike it and the onion rings are to die for! The kids like it because they can play out back until the food comes. Beer is always cold and food is solid. Wife likes the salads and chicken. I usually stick with the burgers. Will go there again as we have been since we moved here in 2007.

Good and solid. You know you are going to get some good home made style food. It’s a bit loud, but an OK place to hang out. The staff seemed to stand there and watch you eat, it’s kind of weird. We will go back. On a few visits, they will not take an order 15 – 20 minutes before the close. Then turn off the sign!

Went here last night with my fiancé’s family. Cute little place. Video games for the kids, Texas décor on the walls, lots of comfy looking booths. A great place to have a baseball end of season party. You walk up to order and pay(great for large groups). The food was decent. I ordered the Tex Mex Burger. I decided after this burger I just don’t like guac on burgers, it has nothing to do with this place. Whenever I would get a bite without guac and just the pico it was so much tastier. I have tried at several places since I love guacamole but I just can’t do it on burgers anymore. Maybe next time I will get a normal cheese burger and add some pico. We got some fried pickles for the whole group which were delicious! I could have just eaten a bunch of those. The fries were fine. The rest of the group all enjoyed their burgers and I believe we will be back in the future. But there is a very limited selection of beers. I think there were 3 types of bottles, that’s it. They were also running out of food when we got there. There was not queso or sweet potato fries. There is tons of parking and it is very conveniently located right of 518. I gave them 3 stars because this is not anything new. Its good, just nothing at all original on the menu.

The cuisine is about as unique as the name of the restaurant. But for the money, you get a solid burger. They offer the burgers in a variety of different ways, as well as a few other items. There’s outdoor seating and a playground in the back for the kids. Definitely seems to be a locally owned eatery; the place is decked out with Texas décor. Not too much more expensive than a fast food restaurant and much better than a Quarter Pounder.

Three reasons I like Jake’s: 1. Angus Burgers any way I like. 2. Self-serve soft drinks. 3. Large, homemade onion rings. With the exception of the Moms toting several children each(they have cheap/free food for kiddos), Jake’s is a nice change of scenery from the workday. I can’t say the food is unique, nor is it superb. Something about an Angus burger, with swiss cheese, mushrooms and onions after a long morning, makes me ready to face the afternoon. Jake’s appears to be a family owned restaurant, so special orders haven’t been an issue. Much of the food, if not all, is restaurant supply fare. Even so, each time I’ve been here(at Too-Much-Travel Dad’s request) I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Maybe it’s the fact that Pearland has a sorry supply of decent eateries(and we’ve tried most of them) that make’s Jake’s a good memory for me. I dunno. Jake’s has outside seating, TV’s with sports/news and a jukebox. Good place for a beer and a burger.
