Living in Pearland we don’t get claim to many ‘cool’ restaurants other than the Empire of Mr. Killen, so having a Niko Niko’s in town — especially inside of our HEB — is pretty cool. The menu is basically the same as the other locations, there is even a bakery counter off to the side near the eating area. I’ll usually stop by and pick up a salad with chicken or some stuffed bell peppers to go and heat them up at home, but there is a good size eating area within the HEB. The employees will give you a buzzer when you place your order so you can get some of your other grocery shopping done while you wait. Only confusing part is you can’t check out any HEB items at the Niko Niko’s register.

Omg, I have had Gyros from all over and none compare to this place. It was so good that when I finished it my wife asked me if I wanted to try her chicken spinach pita and I said no! I wanted to savor the taste as long as possible… Cool little café inside HEB and they have a complete Greek menu so try something new

Very very good stuff! I love it. I actually like that it’s in HEB; I can get some shopping done after eating the yummy tastiness and even buy stuff to take home and prepare. Please do not ever leave!

I’m not very knowledgeable on greek/Mediterranean cuisine. So I don’t pretend to understand the standards for these kind of food but just basing it on taste and on the happy feeling it gives you while biting on to the fluffy-chewy pita, I give Niko Niko’s 5 stars! I am glad to have stumbled upon this fastfood style restaurant while browsing here on Unilocal. We had very low expectations especially when we learned that it is inside the HEB grocery. We where surprised how good the food is and very affordable too!

I ordered a Greek salad with Gyro meat. The salad is in a plastic container prepackaged and basically they just put super hot gyro meat on top and put a plastic cap on. This caused the plastic cap to melt into the meat on my salad. When I told the girl at the counter she looked at me like I was crazy to complain about plastic in my gyro meat(!) and said ok I will switch the cap. I said no that doesn’t change anything there is plastic melted into my salad! She gave me a look and told her manager who offered to provide me with a new salad. I knew the same story would happen and I just gave up and took the darn salad but didn’t eat it. I guess these guys don’t understand it’s not good to eat plastic…

This place has delicious food but it usually has one or two workers at a time working so it always takes a long while to get your food.(I’d suggest making an order before you do your grocery shopping then continuing to look for your groceries… it might help with the waiting) The reason it gets 4 stars is because everytime you try to order from their dessert section you have to wait until someone walks over from the main food section to take your order and this always takes them forever… I just can’t understand why they can’t have a saperate person that just works in the dessert section…

I love their food, especially the gyros and hummus. Their chicken lemon soup is awesome.

This place is certainly good. The food is great although I was wary of the old dried selections that were on display. Tasted fresh. It’s unfortunate that it’s in the big Walmartish HEB, so it loses a star for that. There’s another local Mediterranean place just down 518 that I prefer to frequent.

–Great family restaurant –Awesome quality of meat, salads, desserts –Tip: if wanting a small portion & wanting to save money as each meal is at least split one meal as you will have tons of leftovers if you get your own meal Cons: –Long wait time –sometimes tables don’t get wiped down after use and feel gross

Good from nikkos is always great no doubt! Quality meat, great recipes, and awesome ingredients as always. My issue is value! Does this look like a $ 20 lunch to you? No way! $ 20 is a lot to spend on lunch. I was spending that thinking that I’d have enough to take a bit home! Not still be hungry. The«souvlaki plate» says double meat on the menu but 4 – 5 chunks of steak hardly seems like that to me. You would think that you’d get more than a paper plate of food for the price. Felt so ripped off

Nothing special. I walked into H-E-B one day and noticed that this was suddenly open inside. Curious, I went ahead and bought a gyro, after all Niko Niko’s is known for it’s gyro’s with a Gyro Eating contest held every year so it must be good. I was wrong. The pita was burnt and and the gyro meat was over-seasoned. They doused my gyro with tzatziki sauce in an attempt to hide all this but it only made it worse. I will say that the service is pretty fast here but the food is definitely not worth. The price for what you pay is also pretty outrageous even though Mediterranean food is typically on the pricier side. If you’re really hungry and you’re in the area I honestly recommend going somewhere else unless you’re absolutely dying for some Mediterranean food. I would not come back again.

Great fast food alternative. Love that I don’t have to drive to Montrose to get my Niko Niko fix! I had the chicken kabob meal with potatoes. Seriously delicious potatoes! There is a full menu and pastry stand option.

Ummm, it’s located in the HEB, yup you read this correctly! Went to a dr. appointment nearby & was looking for a place to grab a bite & the recommendation came up. I had no idea that they had other locations other than the ones downtown. They opened 1 year ago & seem to be going strong. They have a surprisingly nice area to sit in or you can sit bar style at the counter. It’s clean & spacious. It’s the same concept of ordering at the cash register, get a buzzer & pick it up when it’s ready. The staff here are so kind & welcoming, we were greeted immediately, no line up. The food is the same, now I’m not sure if this is valid every day but there was a slight difference with the oven potatoes & the fries. The oven potatoes have less flavour to them however they didn’t disintegrate has soon as the fork went through them. I love these potatoes but every time I go to the Montrose location, they are overcooked so they break apart when you start eating them & turn into mush, that being said, I still eat them! The fries were better at this location, they were finger licking good! They have a beautiful & tempting desert display that is enticing but after my meal, I usually tap out.

Saw this place inside the Heb while I picked up a few things. I’ve past the montrose location hundreds of times and it’s always packed so I said why not and gave it a try. I’ve never ate Greek food before, so I was clueless on what to get. Only recognizable thing to me was a gyro sandwich, so I opted to try my first one. Gyro was surprisingly good. It did take a few minutes for me to acquire the taste of the lamb and beef mixture, my taste buds are so use to chicken.(LOL) I did like the taste of the tzatziki sauce, but I preferred it slathered on the gyro, not on the side. Is it something I’ll go out of my way to get? Probably not, but one of these days I’ll stop at the Montrose location just to see if it’s any different.

The foods at this location are not as fresh as the Montrose location — both in looks and flavor. If you want to eat at Niko Niko, I advise to drive in town and eat at the Montrose location.

I have to admit, I don’t know much about Greek food. I had been to the main restaurant a couple years back and enjoyed the food immensely. So since I was doing some small shopping at HEB, I thought this place would make for a great lunch. Unfortunately, the food looked like reheated left overs, and come to think of it I’ve never seen them prepping fresh food here. I ordered two different fillo pastries and did not receive what I ordered. And to top it off, the food was rather underwhelming. It lacked any sort of fresh flavoring outside of oil and undercooked pastry. The only high note I have is that the guy who took my order was very upbeat and nice. He was probably the manager. Good service saves this from a one star experience.

This Niko Niko’s location has a few different menu items than the Montrose location. Prices are in the same ballpark, but also differ a bit. We ordered to-go food, and they said 10 minutes. We got there in about 10 minutes and it was ready to go! Food was delicious. I got the beef and gyro souvlaki($ 15.75), and it came with plenty of potatoes and rice! It also came with 4 ‘pizza shape’ slices of pita which was soft and delicious. I ate this for 2 meals. I was surprised my plate did not come with any tatziki. I saw on the menu that you could order some for $ 0.50, but I assumed some would just naturally come with my meal and that was just if i wanted more. My colleague got fries with feta cheese and he said they were the bomb. I personally don’t like feta, so i can’t attest. The only issue i really have with this location is with the payment. Since it’s in the HEB and right next to the fruit section, I grabbed a bottle of HEB’s fresh squeezed orange juice. I wanted to pay for this as I got my food at Niko Niko’s, but they told me I had to to go the regular check out. Also, the dessert & coffee section of this location is separate from the main meal section, which I presume can be a little bit annoying if you want to get a coffee to drink with your meal.

I had some early morning shopping to do at HEB and decided to give the«Greekfast» menu a shot. I’ve never ate anything from their breakfast menu before. I ordered a Mediterranean Pita — It has spinach, scrambled eggs, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, feta, dill and olive oil in pita bread. It was under $ 5.00. Service was extremely slow and honestly each time I have ate here that has been the norm. When I finally got the wrap, it was actually really good. I don’t normally order all veggie wraps/sandwiches but I’m glad I did. All the flavors blended nicely with the scrambled eggs. I just wish they would do something about improving the service/time from when the customer places an order to the time they receive their food.

I have been to both other niko niko’s locations before — great — and decided to give this one a try. It’s a great place to stop before shopping at the HEB. They have a big menu, an amazing coffee/dessert bar as well as several ready-to-order entrees behind glass. There’s a nice big place for you to sit and enjoy too. I highly reccommend the pastichio or moussaka, and if you have never had greek desserts like baklava or khatifi, then those are a definite must have. We shared the pastichio, chicken kabob plate and an extra 2 Dolmades(stuffed grape leaves). Great food!
