Terrible. The ribs were like charcoal, they were so burnt and flavorless! Okra was slimy, green beans were inedible, and the corn bread was dry as the Sahara… no idea how this place has ever received a good review, perhaps they recently changed cooks?! Whatever the reason, I will not be returning. Simply awful, don’t waste your money, you’d be better off in your own back yard with a Webster.

It’s a gem and a cornerstone for the Westside. Best BBQ you can find, and friendliest owners around. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. In fact, you should try everything! Twice! And always ask for extra sauce. Always. It’s one of the best dives in pensacola.

Today was my first visit to Arlene’s. The crew was friendly and there was plenty of good natured banter between staff and customers.
I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was excellent. French fries were the standard frozen crinkle cut variety. I also tried the baked potato salad. Even if the BBQ was ordinary, this is worth the trip alone. Very good.
This is a place I will visit again.

Basically it seemed like they didn’t want our business. Food took FOREVER and was cold. Wasn’t worth the price. I got maybe 5 sweet potato fries for $ 2.50 and like I said — COLD. Food was mediocre at best. Not good portions. What made me actually review this restaurant is how unwelcome they made us feel. The woman didnt allow my son to sit on a stool (because the counter was «hot» — it wasnt) and actually asked my husband to put it upside down on the counter. We drove all the way from Gulf Breeze and will never do it again. Rude staff, cold, expensive food. Terrible experience for New Year’s Eve dinner.

This place is awesome! The food is amazing, the staff is great and the prices are affordable. What more can you ask for? The ribs are juicy and have that perfect straight out of the smoker taste, the mac and cheese is fantastic and if you get green beans it comes with the best corn bread around. And get their lemonade, it’s the bomb.

Really wanted to like this place… Had a group to try it out! Ribs were tender and juicy but lacked any flavor… Luckily there was sauce which was ok to help the ribs out… Potato salad had good dill flavor but potatoes were undercooked and raw… Lima beans were good but really they were the larger butter beans so not what I was expecting… Nice people but mediocre BBQ at best…

Great food new location. Had lunch special (pulled pork combo). Pulled pork was great. Only slightly negative factor was the wait for the food (French fries in particular). Seems silly to have to wait on fries with a lunch special. But I will dive Ms. Arlene great kudos because she was handing out rib samples while people had to wait. Great customer service. Will definitely be back.

Arlene’s BBQ truly is a gem, owned by a diamond.
Her crème de la crème are her ribs. They are not over seasoned with some wacky rub and the Miami mopping sauce that comes with it is excellent. And, one works perfectly without the other.
The pulled pork comes on sandwich bread, I think that changes and simplifies this treat. It takes me back to when I was a kid and ate pulled pork and rib sandwiches in Coconut Grove, Fl.
Her sides are pure country, steamed okra, collards, macaroni w/​cheese, baked beans, all excellent sides, but you won’t need them to get full, you’ll be stuffed just with the entrée alone.

Awesome food, friendly staff! Passed this place so many times, but never stopped. Deff glad a friend was jonesin some! Hands down best BBQ I’ve had thus far in Pensacola. Very military friendly too!
Miss Arlene and her husband not only have great food, but they’re welcoming and inviting. If it’s your first time, let em know so they can give you a starter kit. =)

Really, really good barbeque. The place is a destination and a west side icon. Just like the owners, community focused and just good people. Sure sometimes you don’t get the friendly time to chat – but they are always busy and driven. And let the food speak for itself, it makes up for any service issue

We had one slab of ribs with two large sides. Being from SC, I have had a lot of BBQ in my life and no ribs have ever compared to Arlene’s. You won’t be disappointed. Right now they have a deal on Groupon so get on that! You won’t be disappointed. We will be back. The Mac and cheese was amazing too, tasted like my grandmas.

The best pulled pork in town! It was moist and flavorful and the bbq sauce complemented it nicely. The baked potato salad is the best potato salad I’ve ever had! The staff is always super friendly, as well.

They catered the food at our wedding reception and it was wonderful. Great tasting southern BBQ food! We had the pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked chicken and all of the sides. They are a little more laid back than you would expect of a catering company but everything turned out great!

Hands down the BEST southern BBQ in pensacola. I’ve had their ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked chicken and even hamburgers. They have excellent bbq beans and my favorite, oven cooked Mac n cheese. It’s a take out only kind of place but great for picking up after work.

It wouldve gotten 0 stars but Unilocal is too nice by not offering that rating …crappy customer service and a rude staff that thought they were doing me a favor by serving their mediocre food, I will take my money elsewhere in the future… Not here.

I’ve always wanted southern BBQ and boy did this place hit the spot! I had beef brisket with potato salad and macaroni and cheese. Everything was flavored just right and the sauce they put on the brisket is fantastic. They serve it up with some white bread. Mmmm… so good! I can’t wait to try it again.
