Super cute place. Sat at the bar and was taken care of by Sonya. She was nice and funny. The blond host at the front was very professional and helpful. The bathrooms were nice and very clean. Will try outdoor seating when it warms up a bit. I ordered the Jack Daniels chicken salad and thought it was delicious and filling. Seems like it would be a great date spot. I would say the dress code is smart casual, I didn’t know I was going to lunch here and so I was wearing athletic leggings and felt underdressed compared to staff and other patrons. Nice wine program but you won’t find any bottles under $ 30.

Funny thing happened when I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich for lunch. I was charged $ 10.95 for the bun, tomato, lettuce, onion, fries and tarter sauce. I was then charged an additional $ 5 for the fish on the bun. A bit pricey for a lunch menu fish sandwich, but it was tasty(the reason for my 3 star rating).

Would be three but for the price. Imagine a halfhearted attempt at a high priced soul food/seafood fusion and voila you have fish house. If you want fine dining go to jacksons. If you want awesome seafood go to peg leg petes on the beach. If you want real home cooking go to your grannies house. If you want to impress a date with a romantic spot this might be good. The grit thingy is tasty but avoid the sushi.

Tried the three course Restaurant Week dinner menu last night. Every course was so good. Like, SOGOOD. Not to mention a lovely presentation and atmosphere. Our server, George, was friendly and very professional, even when we asked him rookie questions about wine and the menu. The manager stopped by our table at one point to make sure we were enjoying our dining experience, and we truly were! I can’t wait to come back. A+ Fish House! Well done!

Just finished a remarkable meal with my significant other! Mussels were out of this world! Momas salad was delicious and Filet was cooked to perfection! Shaun was a great server. Just attentive enough but not overbearing! Spot on meal!

I had the delicious grits ya ya it was a creamy and tasty dish of comfort. The shrimp were perfectly prepared and seasoned. I sipped a wonderful champagne cocktail that was fizzy fun. The food was delicious. I definitely will return.

I was at the Fish House on Saturday for a chill late lunch before leaving Florida. We had several appetizers including the mussels, sautéed crab claws, crab cakes, and a dynamite roll. My faves were the crab claws and the mussels. The crab claws were sautéed in a yummy Cajun style cream sauce. The mussels had a lot of tasso ham and leeks, giving the creamy broth a nice smoky flavor. The sushi roll was good. The crab cakes were not so great. The seasoning was good but since there was more filler and bread than crab, the seasoning overpowered the dish and you could not really taste the crab. My husband had the gumbo, which he liked very much. For dessert, we had the chocolate pecan bread pudding and it was awesome! Served hot with a light syrup sauce. We had a few drinks as well. The White Sangria was sweet and fruity, but not too sweet. My hubby had a seasonal beer and a whisky sour. A whisky sour is only as good as its whisky and sour mix obviously, but it was pretty good :) The service was really good too. Our server was very attentive but not pushy.

I ordered the Ginger crusted grouper. A 25 –30.00 meal. The flavor was destroyed by either fish skins that were not properly removed or either just a plain old stale piece of meat. Another of our party ordered this meal and their grouper was bad also. I guess we came on a night when the grouper was bad. Sad.

My husband and I came here last week upon a friends recommendation. The food was DELICIOUS and the scenery is really pretty. The service was good also. Two big thumbs up!!! Highly recommend trying the muscles!

This was a wonderful Anniversary Dinner. We ate on the Atlas side. We loved the jalapeño appetizer, and the grilled oysters. I had the grits a yaya, and they were great. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the dessert. The key lime pie was the most authentic we had all weekend. Jacob was a great server.

Good TripAdvisor reviews directed us to The Fish house. It is a very large restaurant so I was guarded in my expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised. We started with the Seafood Gumbo which was very, very good. Only had a cup, would have liked a bowl. My wife, who is a light eater, selected Sushi which she said was very good. I chose the Parmesan-Crusted Grouper, which was a large Grouper filet, cooked perfectly and very crispy with the parmesan crust. It comes over 3-cheese ravioli with a lobster sauce with baby spinach on the side. It was truly exceptional. Highly recommended. A very nice place to eat with excellent food. We will certainly be back.

Bottomless mimosas and awesome appetizers gave this 4stars but the service kinda sucked. Took awhile after we stopped ordering food to get service to order shots. Had to constantly hunt her down to order another round. Beautiful scenery though of course. And when we did get our whiskey they were nice a full. So over all it was nice.

The shrimp and grits a ya-ya was exceptional just as the reviews before. We also had the crab claws and the soul rolls for an appetizer. The crab claws were good but not worth the price. The soul rolls were the bomb and a very creative concept to the traditional spring roll. I had the parmesan crusted grouper with cheese stuffed ravioli and spinach with tomato and mushroom. The fish needed the sauce and ravioli to be tasty but it was good. The green with tomato and mushroom tasted like an afterthought. It was extremely bland and even when I added salt it didn’t help. It just was not good at all and I suggest that the chef think of something else to pair with that dish. The mood of the restaurant was laid back and I loved it. We had the chef’s dessert which was a raspberry bread pudding. It was delicious! All in all, I would definitely go back. We had a great experience.

Held a business event here for 10 people. Private room with one waiter, and he kept up! The room was already set-up when we arrived, during the meal no one had a glass that went empty, and all 10 meals came out at once. After the event they turned right around and fed 9 of us without missing a beat. I went with the Barracks Street Burger, ½ pound of juicy beef protected with two pieces of American cheese. It turned out to be a burger that filled me up for a solid 5 hours. A great location, that only enhances the food… Stop in.

You must try the World-famous Grits A Ya Ya(their signature dish). You will have a good time. Basically, this place serves great food and has nice dining views of the dock it sits on – hopefully there will be space outside on your visit. The only gripe would be all the company from the love bugs(if it’s that season). When I was there, the lighting and weather outside was perfect. The service was superb. I wonder if the Oyster Bar next door is any good or if the restaurant ownership is the same. The place is a solid 4 stars, not sure why it doesn’t average that.

If you think that this food is worth what the Fish House charges, you’re either a tourist or retarded. It’s mediocre fare, at high prices, with indifferent service. The $ 11 hamburger, which is supposedly a ½# of fresh-ground beef is about the size of a McDonalds ¼-pounder and dense and tough, like a frozen puck of cheap beef. The grits dish is complete and total bullshit. You get about 5 – 6 shrimp, three cents worth of grits(no lie or exaggeration, the portion is tiny to make the shrimp. look larger). You pay $ 17 for $ 3 worth of food. But people rave about it, so go ahead and order that crap. They do filter all of their water, which is a good thing. Pcola has dangerously toxic water. Don’t drink it where it is unfiltered.

One of my favorite all time places in P-cola. And, just like most … LOve the ya-ya. Atmosphere is lovely! Views(sunrise/sets) are to die for. I give it less than 5 stars sadly b/c some of the wait staff have been little beotches & quite rude. Not the restaurants fault(they can’t handle their waitstaffs bad attitudes ALL the time) but maybe if they keep an eye on their staff … they will see the snarkiness coming out at times. I have waited on tables(something everyone should do in their life) — you should NEVER ever be rude. It’s part of the gig. If you just can’t grin & bear it… DONT take this type of job.

Unbelievable! I had never tried grits and if there ever was a time, this is the place!!! Excellent ambiance. Friendly staff Courtney was one of the best servers I have ever had… And I used to be a server! A must stop!

I went around 8:30, and there were still a lot of people in the restaurant(which I took to be a good sign). We were seated immediately, but after that, service was a bit slow. Luckily the food made up for this. I was never really a fan of grits, but that completely changed after I went to The Fish House and had their World-Famous Grits à Ya Ya. The gulf jumbo shrimp was spiced just right. The shallots and bacon complemented the rest of the dish very well. The cream and cheesiness of the grits melted in my mouth, and I had to control myself from devouring the meal in one bite. It’s been months since I last had it, and I still think about it from time to time. That’s how absolutely delicious it was. I’d go back to Pensacola solely for the Grits à Ya Ya at The Fish House.

Mildly Inconsistent. If I had written this review three weeks ago, I would be singing the praises regarding The Fish House, but the quality of the acclaimed Ya-Ya Grits this time around leaves me writing just an «ok» review. I substituted blackened chicken(for shrimp) and the chicken was much saltier and skimpier than my previous visit. Also the ya-ya sauce was a bit off. Service on the other hand, is constantly good. It is also hard to beat the small harbor view. Atmosphere is also really nice, with string lights setting the nighttime mood and several large tables adjacent to the water. So would recommend coming here if you want a nice place to drink, listen to a live band, and(with the chilly weather coming in) huddling around some fire pits. If making dinner plans… you rolls your dice and you takes your chances.
