Average food. Decent service. Oysters were ok. Blackened grouper was fresh and above average but the salad was below average.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here this past weekend. We were a little bummed they were out of their shrimp bisque and it was only 11:45am but we tried their seafood chowder instead. It was wonderful. We also order their famous homemade shrimp and crab dip… I think I licked the bowl. My fiancé and I shared an entrée since we had soup and a appetizer. We got the stuffed pepper jack and Jalapeño burger. So tasty! I love their kettle chips as well! Overall a really good experience. Blood Mary’s were good too! They looked to be a little short on staff but our server was attentive and so sweet. We will go back!

Worse wait staff device I’ve encountered. Walked in and had 3 waitresses walk by us and ignore us. I asked one for a placement for 3 and got an abrupt … We’re full I don’t know how long a wait is. Wtf? What restaurant doesn’t have an idea of wait time. Asked 2nd person if they have an idea and was simply told no. Very disappointed as we hoped to enjoy a good meal. Never again.

Good place. It was too cold to eat outside but the inside was nice as well. The raw oysters were awesome very fresh!!! I got the sweet ginger alas. Wasn’t much to the salad jut romaine lettuce would’ve preferred spinach or something more. But there was tons of shrimp that was lightly fried and the sauce was awesome and had the right amount of heat! Definitely would go back!

We had the oyster sampler, then a dozen chargrilled oysters… then another dozen chargrilled oysters. Hot, bubbly, cheesy, with plenty of garlic butter. So good! Really nice staff & a few cold local ambers & porters rounded out a great, impromptu dinner before a show at vinyl. Beats the greasy tourist trap of PL Pete’s on the beach, hands down.

This little shot-gun is a gem! Tried the chargrilled oysters… officially an addict now. A great simple place to come eat some good oysters. Raw ones were delish as well!

GOOOOOOOOOODSEAFOOOOOOOOOOD. I would say more but I have oysters sliding down my gullet. Don’t sleep on dat dessert. Brownie and pecan pie are ace. Ok. Alright. The oysters have finally slidden down my gullet. WAIT! I meant«SLIDED» down my gullet… I think. Now, that sounds weird too. What’s the right past tense form of «slide?» I don’t think I can finish this review until I find the answer. UPDATE9÷25÷15 I have set up an email hotline for any information pertaining to this«slide» query. Please contact for any additional information. I will post any changes to this Unilocal review as necessary.

My wife and I have gone here a couple times for lunch with our two year old daughter and had great experiences. We have tried the shuxwacker and Bloody Mary, oysters every way they prepare them(grilled, baked, raw) along with the fried seafood platter(I can’t remember the name for it on the menu) and the shrimp and crab dip. Everything was amazing, the chargrilled oysters are by far my favorite menu item though. The service here was also excellent we have had the same waitress every time and she was awesome. She was very knowledgeable in what the best menu items were and attentive to our needs. We will go back here every time we are in Pensacola.

I had found this location on Unilocal an was eager to try it from all the reviews. We were the firsts guests on a Saturday lunch and the place was empty. We were greeted by a friendly server who allowed us to sit wherever we wanted. I started with their bloody mary — as all the Unilocal pics looked amazing, and it was great. I really loved the beef stick as a stirrer! Next, we ordered a dozen raw oysters and the entire family enjoyed them. Our server was very friendly and steered us in the right direction for our meals. Wife ordered the spinach salad with shrimp — I swear there was a pound of nice sized steamed cold shrimp on her salad. I too ordered the spinach salad, but got it topped with blacked grouper — easily an 8oz piece. Kids got fried shrimp and my daughter enjoyed the shrimp bisque. As we left, there were folks sitting outside at the bar. Place looked really neat, and if we hadn’t been dressed up to go to a graduation, we would have sat outside. I would definitely like to come back when visiting Pensacola.

I took the advice of fellow Unilocaler Rachael P and gave Shux’s a try. I am so glad I listened as it was a great food. We had the oysters on the half shell, ½ dozen char grilled and ½ dozen Bienville. The oysters on the half shell were are favorite as they were fresh and sweet tasting. The seafood sauce was a perfect complement to the oysters. The char grilled and Bienville were good but the add ons masked the taste of the oysters so not my thing. We also had to try the crab and shrimp dip with homemade chips which was very tasty. We couldn’t miss out on fried oysters so had a basket and they were delicious. Light on the breading and flash fried. I had their house Margarita with the Grand Marnier Float and it was perfect. The service was slow but understandable so not an issue. Great food and fun location.

Holy cow best oysters in the DTP’cola area hands down! Service was great, menu was simple and everything is REALLY tasty, and did I mention the oysters were fab??? Huge, honkin’ half-shells of briny yumminess — the likes of which I haven’t seen since leaving the Gulf Coast for the west coast of SoCal in 10 years! The crab cake was perfection — golden pan sautéed with al dente creamy grits and fresh-fried onion rings. Shrimp po boys are fully locked and loaded with a spicy fresh jalapeño slaw and lobster-sized fried«skrimps»(as my pal Marcus would say). And save room for dessert because if you leave without eating the bushwhacked brownie — a layered cheesecake brownie with a mountain of bushwhacker ice cream, caramel sauce, and a dollop of buttery whipped cream — you’re kinda insane. Forget Atlas, skip by McGuire’s pub, save your money and avoid Jackson’s and just get on down to Shux. Your happy, full belly will thank you.

Best oysters I had in months. I have been trying new restaurants all over the panhandle. I finally found a oyster bar that lives up to its name. Also, I was surprised that the burgers were on par. The dredge burger with a whole egg on top is defiantly a must. I recommend to anyone that loves oysters, especially raw give this place a go.
