Tijuana Flats

Everyone here is extremely friendly and wants to ensure you actually enjoy your food and TF experience. The guy who took our order, met us at the door, took our order, and stopped by the table twice to ensure we had a good experience. He was very friendly and nice. The food was terrific (as usual) and we always love the sauce bar.

It was my first time experiencing Tijuana Flats. I was very underwhelmed after arriving. We were having a lunch there with the rest of the people i work with, about 12 of us. We all ordered at the same time but it was a span of 30 minutes between the first person got their food and the last. Most of us had already finished before the last person even got their order. The food quality was not great or even good. I got the Dos enchiladas, with a side of salsa. The enchiladas were tough, hard to cut with a fork, and the steak was tough and chewy, over cooked. I’m a big fan of hot sauces and tried about 5 of them. while there were some new ones, none of them had a good flavor. lot of spice, very little flavor. I will not be returning and don’t recommend it to others unless they like a this niche kind of place.

I’ve always loved Tijuana Flats. Always. Whenever they have any type of draft drink special I try to be there. 2 or 2.50 for ACTUAL CRAFT BEERS on draft?! THANK YOU to whomever is in charge of that. I eat all the things here. All of it. Chimichangas to flautas to tacos. The blackened chicken is great. All the hot sauces are amazing. All the employees are super friendly. Never leave me Flats. (Don’t you even think about going to Moe’s instead. You’ll regret it.)
GASP– I almost forgot. Cookie. Dough. Flautas. If you have a sweet tooth, ORDER THEM AND DON’T SHARE.

Taco Tuesday is always slammed but the staff, especially Kaitlin, went above and beyond to make sure my party of 4 as well as other customers were well taken care of and they did it with a smile on their face. The food tasted great and we will definitely be back soon!

This is the BEST place in town! Awesome food, I have never had anything that wasn’t great.
Their black beans are lard-​free. Their fresh-​made chips have a sprinkling of finely ground salt and pepper.
Tacos are fantastic,
No-​rrito bowl is total yumminess (though it doesn’t come with chips so you have to ask for them on the side of you want them)
Taco salad is impressive.
On the sweet side, the churros are perfectly crispy and piping hot, if the inside of your mouth has sufficient recovered from the heat!
Speaking of, and I should have started here, their hot sauce bar is wondrous! If you are wimpy, you can try the ones on the left side, but if you are a seasoned hot sauce aficionado, go all out for the Iguana En Fuego. It will leave you speechless, quite literally! ;-)
ALL the staff provides exceptional customer service every day. We should know, we are there at least three times every week. It’s nice to have a place to go to where you know you won’t be met with disappointment, but are in for a consistently great meal and experience.

Good food, good price, healthy options. Service is always super friendly and fast.

As soon as we walked in (Tuesday) we were greeted with a smile and information about the menu. Marissa (I believe) was so helpful with everything. She explained Taco Tuesday, how we can substitute items, the bottomless sides and the two for one draft beers. She even refilled our sides and packed them to go for us! The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely return when I’m back in Pensacola!

My husband & I had burritos they were ok. What is missing was authentic salsa. I’m from Los Angeles and Mexican food here is different.

The food is exceptional, quick, affordable, and this TJ Flats has great service. Everyone is really polite, helpful, and attentive. You can tell their training is good and it does seem like they all work really well as one team all helping at the same time.
Even small things like coming out from behind the register to tell the next customer to that they are ready to take their order down the counter is appreciative and noticeable. It’s better than yelling «next customer!» every minute on a busy Friday night.
Even though this is an order-​at-​the-​counter place, they call your name and they deliver the food. No getting up after you order (unless you want more sauce from their hot sauce bar — free).
For those that have never been to a Tijuana Flats, give this one a try. I doubt you’ll be disappointed. And if something misses the mark, if you tell the staff, they will correct it and make you happy. It’s definitely a service-​oriented restaurant (with good food as a bonus).

I do still love this place however the last two times I have eaten here there has been a piece of plastic in my food. I did tell them about it just so it doesn’t happen to someone else. Sorry but I probably won’t come back. Js.

Good food. Good people. Good food specials. All in all I’d say it’s good. Try it for lunch or dinner. It does get very busy on taco Tuesday. If you visit at that time go early or you might just have to wait a bit.

Great service, good Tex-​Mex. Portions are very large, so we left very stuffed. Love the hot sauces bar option. Prices were good. I was stuck between a 3 and 4 because the service was so great, but I’ve had better Tex-​Mex.

Great authentic tex mex and some outstanding guacamole. You can’t go wrong with whatever you order. Its a funky cool place with some of the best staff in the business. The customer service level is just Unreal –blows Moes out of the water

This place has really good mexican food! I had the no ritto bowl and its basically a burrito without the tortilla. And they have a great hot sauce bar. I wasn’t disappointed. Being from California my mexican food expectations are pretty high. Food was amazing and not bad priced, and the beer is cheap too! $ 3 bottles and domestic drafts. Cant go wrong there. Great experience with the staff as well. They are very attentive. I will be back!

This is one chain that needs to expand west as there are none west of Pensacola, Florida. This is Tex-​mex at its best! This time I had a carnitas chimachanga. Burrito was perfectly fried and filled with cheese and meat. The carnitas were marinated and was like eating roast. All the other topping were on top of the chimachanga and was loaded with sour cream, lettuce, and Pico de galo. You have the option of making any burrito, chimachanga, or enchilada wet with a red tangy Chipotle sauce, queso, salsa, or verde. I also had a secret menu item which I cannot share except by pic and mention that it was really ok. But I have had the Tijuana Trio several times that comes with queso, salsa, and guacamole… all are quite good. Three other intangibles add to the experience of Tijuana Flats. Customer service is always friendly and upbeat. The place is a total dive and decorated with a whole lot of random objects. Last of all, there is the hot bar that has 10 – 15 total hot sauces to add flavor or just plain heat to your food. Tijuana Flats is one of the best Tex-​mex restaurants and chains out there. Very good and very affordable and unique.

I absolutely love it here. It’s honestly weird how much I love the tacos and queso. But really, who can beat $ 4.99 Taco Tuesdays? I get the hard shell beef tacos with everything, including fresh jalapeños. Olé! *kisses fingertips*

To update my review… I was contacted by the district manager after my review. I shared my concerns with her in detail. She truly was concerned and offered a couple of explanations. She provided me with a gift card to give them another chance. I was impressed with the customer service both from her and in the restaurant. I’ll try again.

Staff is always super friendly and there are several vegan friendly options. The portions are generous & sangria is always a good idea.
The refried beans are now vegetarian!

I’ve often wondered what Tijuana Flat’s secret is. How can they get their staff to be so upbeat, friendly, courteous and welcoming to every customer. I visited this location two nights in a row while on vacation in Pensacola and by the end of my second visit I felt like I’d been a regular for years. They knew me by first name and showed why Tijuana has stolen many customers from Moe’s and other competitors. The service here is excellent.
Fortunately, the food is pretty good, too. In fact, have you seen the kids quesadilla? It’s enough for three kids! I normally opt for the blackened chicken burrito on wheat tortilla, but recently we ordered a No-​ritto which was darn good too. Most importantly, you can rest assured the food is better than your Taco Bell, Moe’s and any of the other similar chains found locally.
This is a great place to come for lunch or dinner. Wonderful value, large portions, good food and service, which is rare now-​a-​days.
