This place is incredible. I’m addicted to The Rosemary Meyer lemon bread. All of Their food is amazing.

What a quaint, breakfast establishment! I really enjoy the lavender latte & my croque Madame. My fiancé got the beef hash — oh joy, it was tasty! The clientele ranges from locals to those passing by the city. I wish we have this in San Jose. Oh, just eating their bread is heaven itself.

Very good. Not huge portions. Ordered a salad and you’d think they’d bring bread. I had to ask for it and at that they were not so generous. I get it. The bread is expensive but plez. Some community tables. Service is not generally with a smile. Can be crowded. Overall delicious.

I’ve only been here twice now but I can tell this place will be my new go-to coffee and bakery! The honey lavender lattes are amazing. However, it took over 20+minutes to get my to-go latte… It was a Saturday morning but for such a popping place you’d think they would have another espresso machine so they could get more done faster! The one girl and her one machine had a back up of over 10 order receipts at one time. Next time I am calling in my coffee! Either way– I’ll be back.

This was my first visit in the restaurant for a brunch date with hubby. I’ve had the bread years ago and they baked the best bread in town. I ordered the piadina and it was so darn good. I would definitely recommend this place and come back for other menu items. We were seated immediately on a Saturday mid morning. It would be a challenge to come in a big group. Must call ahead of time for reservations. Service was attentive.

The rustic bread and sandwiches from this place will blow your brains. It is crazy delicious — even your paleo friends cannot resist. This is completely cheatworthy. Everything I’ve had here is perfect. Wish I could give it 6 stars!

We stumbled upon the place while staying at the Hotel Petaluma. What a gem! Small bistro tables and 2 large community tables make for a cozy interior. We enjoyed coffee, tea, and several breakfast offerings — the smoked salmon was some of the best we’ve ever had. But the PASTRIES, my goodness the pastries are to die for! When you go, get a croissant: ham and cheese, pan au chocolate, everything is amazing. If you’re visiting wine country, get some bread to-go, visit a local creamery, and bam! Instant picnic!

Always one of my must-stops whenever in Petaluma! My friends and I always get the lavender lattes, which are amazing. Just the right amount of sweet(definitely not too sweet like some other flavored lattes I’ve had), and the medium comes in a huge bowl that makes you feel warm and cozy. Great food/baked goods as well. I’ve really never had a bad meal here!

Picture this: sized hand-carved wooden tables, rustic décor, the smell of freshly baked bread, and the promise of delicious food. Quintessential Petaluma. I love coming to Della Fattoria for breakfast and lunch. It always busy, and rightfully so, so plan accordingly. Coming on weekends is near impossible, unless you don’t mind waiting an hour to be squeezed between a sweaty farmer and a family of European tourists. The food is worth it though. Its popularity is both a good indication of the food that will be coming your way and a telltale sign that you’ll have very little elbow room as you eat. The menu is a pleasant blend of recognizable favorites with a modern twist with fresh, seasonal ingredients. We are talking crisp and spicy greens that taste straight out of the ground with some locally raised meats. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order. As for the coffee, while their house coffee is great you do not want to miss out on the vanilla lavender latte. I’m not usually someone who likes flavors in my coffee but, whoa baby! Now for the minor pitfalls(there’s always something right?) and the reason my review is only 4 stars. The service. While I love the ambiance and the atmosphere created by the staff their service is not very fast or efficient. It may have a laid back feel but hungry people are always satisfied with quick service. Consistently the food service is slow even for coffee, it seems no one is in a rush to get your food to you or to check up on you in case you need anything. It seems to be the norm every time we go that at least one server can be heard loudly badmouthing customers who are still in the building. We’ve had this happen to us and it was very unpleasant. Long story short: we asked for a high chair three times and finally got a broken one(bottom falling off, not safe). The second one we got had food plastered all over it, when we kindly requested a cloth or extra napkins to clean them we were first ignored and then met with hostility and contempt by multiple servers. Please save your issues for when your shift is over, your personal impression reflects on the business as a whole. Overall, still one of my favorite brunch spots ever. The food and the quality of ingredients never lets me down and I’m always left full but wanting more. It’s worth a try even if it is always busy. It’s a good sign!

Still my favorite downtown place for breakfast or brunch. Excellent menu, best lattes, and attentive service. Our large party(of 11) was given the upstairs room where there is a single table that seats probably 12 to 15 people. The reason I mention that is there is a viewing window to the kitchen. On the way out, I paused for maybe 5 minutes to view the level of activity down below. I was amazed by(1) the number of people working down there, perhaps 12 to 15 engaged in cooking, doing dishes, baking, prepping and plating, etc., and(2) the high level of activity going on there. There was no idle chitchat or people leaning on a broom. I can see why Della Fattoria is so successful, its the folks behind the scene that make it all happen! You can tell by the loyal clientele who eat frequently there. It never disappoints.

This is where we go when we need to love ourselves. Think pre-Starbucks La Boulange on organic, local, steroids. Think Europe and be delighted and transported. Great Service-Check! Atmosphere-Check! Food Quality-Check! Coffee-Check! My daughter and I lived off this meal for the day! Get the Biscuits and Gravy for sure! The Creamy Polenta with Poached Eggs came in a close second. Both were amazing! We traveled from Marin to Petaluma because we knew. There is nothing that comes close to touching this quality and creativity for breakfast that we know of in Marin. Please don’t ever let Starbucks buy Della Fattoria!

I was wowed by nearly everything at Della Fattoria. The large pastry basket was filled with delicious items — my favorite probably being the cinnamon roll. I would have liked the croissants/pain au chocolat to be a little more buttery or flaky, but it is a minor complaint. The breakfast toasts were awesome. I had the banana/honey/ricotta one, and also had some of my friend’s smoked salmon one. Yum! The rosemary lemon bread was great later for sandwiches, and I want to try more of their breads. Weirdly, though, high up on the ceiling is what appears to be a menu. We got all excited about Valrhona hot chocolate but came to find out that the big menu is considered«art». A bunch of items on the menu aren’t actually sold there. I found that weird and a little disappointing. The hot chocolate would have been much better with Valrhona.

Della Fattoria is a bakery /bistro that came highly recommended to me by a number of friends as a great place to get some excellent farm fresh brunch. I’ve been there two times, once for lunch during the week, and once for brunch on the weekend. I recommend asking for a sample of their daily bread, it comes with butter and Jam and makes for a delicious start to any meal. I can highly recommend the Croque Madame, a savory grilled cheese sandwich with lots of ham, Gruyère cheese, horse radish, and a poached egg. I’ve tried a few other dishes, but this was my favorite. Keep in mind, that you can only get the Croque Madame during their weekend brunch. During the week, I’d opt for Della Fattoria’s Tuna Melt sandwich, it is served on a pizza bread that is super delicious. There may be a wait list to get a seat on weekends, but the food is worth the wait.

Helllloooooo latte! We stopped here on our way up to wine country for a nice breakfast and had our minds blown. Just order the honey lavender latte. trust me. Food — CHECK! Clearly this place gets fresh items. I ordered Stacy’s Breakfast and it was so refreshing and light but sooOoooOooo flavorful. Coffee — CHECK! Like I mentioned, the latte was not only incredible, but their regular coffee was very delicious and easy to drink black. Ambiance — CHECK! Maybe 4-stars for this. there was a loud bang every once in a while, must have been a cupboard door. Other than that it was very cute inside. Parking — Only on the street from what we could find, but downtown Petaluma wasn’t too crowded on a Saturday morning. We will definitely be coming back here! Thank you to the friendly staff that we had and the quick service!

Food here is extremely fresh, like just picked from the garden fresh. I had the chicken sandwich and the chocolate mousse. The sandwich itself could do with a lot less mayo for those of us who prefer a bit less mayo. One of the slices of bread was practically soaked in mayo and topped with mayo. It was heaven for my boyfriend so some people would actually love it. I just prefer 0 mayo. 0 sauces /dressing on all my food because I’m weird. ANYWAYS, the sandwich itself was extremely refreshing after maybe two or dollops of mayo were taken off. The lettuce tasted extremely fresh and the chicken was freshly prepared as well as the bacon. Yes, bacon and chicken topped with some lettuce placed to perfection in between two slices of bread. Perfection. THEMOUSSE — Light, soft, fluffy mousse. The bag toppled over while I drove home from Petaluma(to Milpitas) plenty of times. By the time I got home I figured it’d be all over the little box but to my surprise ITWASSTILLPERFECTLYINITSJAR! The whipped cream topping didn’t even budge. Perfect texture. I might drive all the way back to Petaluma just for this meal again. Sidenote, ask for the restroom. Walk all the way to the back of the kitchen and up the stairs. You won’t regret it. It’s beautiful.(If you like older house structures. and such).

My boyfriend made this a mini-stop on the way to our mushroom hunting on the Sonoma Coast a few weekends ago and I’m so glad he did! He had commented how he thought I would like the pastries and it was totally the right call even though I was doubtful. We got there on a Saturday around 9 am and it was pretty crowded, all the tables were full, and there was a bit of a line for coffee/pastries. No matter, we were determined. He got a coffee and after examining all of the sweet options, I decided on the banana cream. It was nothing short of amazing. The cream tasted fresh and not too sweet, crust was impeccably made, and there was an exactly right amount of banana-y taste(you know what I’m talking about). The presentation was also stunning. I wished I had got another as soon as we finished it! It gets four stars because it was pretty pricey($ 8.50 for the coffee and pastry) but other than that it’s all good.

Della Fattoria belongs to Petaluma, a long time bakery that later added a café serving time-honored recipes. It belongs to the rustic countryside where one can still hear the cows moo and the chickens cluck. It is a Petaluma institution that respects and utilizes the bountiful resources of the soil and farm in our neck of the woods. Accolades about their well-known artisan breads and pastries gave the café a flying start. The daily crowd bears testimony to this. Fueled by good entrepreneurial skills, DF tells of the proverbial success story of a locally operated business. The Roasted Chicken Sandwich($ 13.00) in DF is outstanding. Every chef or restaurant swears by a secret recipe for roasting a chicken but secret technique aside, what ultimately matters is the juicy flavorful meat. Firstly, organic chicken was used and the breast meat was moist and juicy. The sandwich was served on an amazing crusty artisan bread«campagne». It is like a countryside or rustic French bread. The accompaniments were avocado and mixed organic greens tossed in citronette that tasted very refreshing like a lemony-olive oil dressing. Continuing on with the rustic theme, the next sandwich was out-of-this-world except perhaps in Italy! The Tuna Melt Piadina($ 14.00), an exquisite rustic Italian flatbread, made me realize how truly great a sandwich can be. The piadina was made from pizza dough and cooked in a cast iron skillet. Two halves of a piadina served pita style was filled with a scrumptious tuna salad made from the Pacific Northwest wild albacore. The other fillings that contributed to the flavor explosion were cheddar, pepperoncini and arugula again in a citronette dressing. After the first bite, I was hooked! The piadina was crispy on the outside edges and warm inside. The soup of the day complemented both sandwiches well. Simply called«Chunky Vegetable Chicken» soup($ 8.00 a bowl), it certainly sounded like what mom would make on a cold, wet day. It was a savory bowl of chicken stock loaded with tons of veggies the most enticing being tomatoes, fennel and Swiss chard. And of course a little bacon for the extra flavor! Justifiably, this is one place I can be proud to bring out of town friends for breakfast or lunch to allow them to sample what Petaluma has to offer. Service was spot on and our server Drew was extremely helpful and cordial. Even the manager Kim took a few minutes to banter with us. Cheers!
