I have to agree that this is a very small store, and I don’t think I’ve ever been in when there was more than one register open. I found some baby yarn on sale, and commented to my mom that as the cashier dragged my light colored yarn across the counter, I had to notice how black and gross the counter actually was. I mainly crochet and sometimes do some scrapbooking and other miscellaneous craft projects. If I need something and this is the closest store or I have coupons and don’t want to drive a ridiculous distance(since I live in the boonies and don’t have many options for«close to home») I will stop in here. I’ve found some great deals here and there, and have also been disappointed in the selection.

This JoAnn’s is closest to my home so I go there when desperate, but I agree its the WORST Jo-Ann fabrics store(that’s coming from someone who’s also lived in other states). They have a tiny selection, very tight space, hard to navigate, especially during sales when its busy. They also are chronically understaffed(my experience with days or evenings); 2 – 3 grumpy people not wanting to help when there’s a half dozen or more customers. I mean, they will help you, but they aren’t the kindest and they seem to get grumpier, when more customers come through their doors. Tonight, we were there at 8. At 8:30, we asked for assistance and the lady was staring at me blankly as she was sweeping the floor. you really need me to help you? Yes, its on top the shelf and the ladder says staff only. It turns out they were getting the floors waxed and needed them cleared out. Why do that before you are sales hours are done? Also, when I asked the price on something that was not marked, they lady gave me her assumption; she didn’t want to look it up because she was stocking another section. Then, her co-worker offered to check and it was $ 3 different. I’m so sorry to inconvenience you. All in all, I recommend making the drive over to Bluemound where there is a larger selection, along with helpful staff, but if its a matter of picking something up out of convenience, this place does exist. Also, it is in Waukesha, but that side of the Silvernail is in Pewaukee.

This may tie for my least favourite Jo-Ann. The other one is in Poway, California… that one is large, but so incredibly messy and outdated. This one is incredibly tiny, to the point that getting through the store is an obstacle course and a constant worry that your jacket or purse is going to clear an entire shelf as you walk by. I didn’t think there was quite the variety of fabrics and yarns that I was looking for and the line to check out was enormous.
