Don’t go there they were terrible. The new owners«black taxi«have made it a great neighborhood bar once again. Great job guys !

Our world is rocked to see the doors closed here. One of(if not) the best food/drink establishments to hit Fairmount. Thank you for the delish drinks, amazaballs meals, and an amazing staff.

Great spot for brunch. We didn’t have reservations, but they were able to quickly fit us in. Our son had the French toast and it was beautiful and delicious. My husband and I had the Standard with fresh eggs cooked perfectly, crispy bacon, a potato cake, and sour dough toast. The staff was friendly and helpful. The tea was also tasty — Harney and Sons Earl Gray. It is a quaint little place that I recommend.

A great spot for some nosh and some solid cocktails. My friends and I had a couple of drinks a piece and ate some of their appetizers. Let’s see here. A Brown Derby, an Old Fashioned, a Gin Fizz, a Manhattan. Oh and something called the Fort Washington. It was made with a whole egg which is all the rage these days. It was so creamy and satisfying. The rest were all well made. This was followed up with some good flat bread and according to my friend, some delicious clams. I’d come back!

World class drinks are one thing(hint: can’t go wrong with any drink that has egg in it). I live a couple blocks away and have been here I’d say 6 – 8 times. But what prompted this particular review was the food. Farm egg — 6-minute egg(hb on outside, yolky inside), bone marrow toast. Pretty much a baguette that’s crisp on the outside, moist inside, and drizzled with a butter sauce that’s basically a savory salt bomb. We had this at like 10 at night, would love 2 for brunch every Sunday till I die Arctic char — this was the star, and apparently it was the 1st night on the menu. I’ve had some pretty bad*ss fish dishes, and this is a top 3. Hands down. The tenderness is unreal, I think I called it a «salmon on steroids.» But what puts it over the top is the prawn bisque it sits in, along with some sautéed greens Short rib — otherworldly tender. Nice combo w/the cabbage. Came with a perfect complement which was like a cornbread crumble(w/raisin or something sweet inside) that came in a personal cast iron skillet Funnel cake — just the right amount of crisp. Came w/peanut butter and chocolate sauce for dipping. No need to go on. I think I cried some the 1st bite *All things considered, this was a pretty friggin memorable meal, and the drinks(Chicago fizz) just put the cherry on top

My boyfriend moved to this area about two years ago. We have tried so many places for brunch and to be honest all in the area is great. Lemon hill is by far my favorite. I got The sunny side up egg with asparagus on fancy toast… It was amazing. My boyfriend tried the French toast and he also enjoyed it… We have also tried the burger. The fries are homemade. Loved them. I highly suggest this place!!!

Came here on a Saturday night with eight friends to surprise a friend for her birthday. Even though this place is relatively small, they were more than happy to accommodate our large group. Our server was attentive and very helpful with drink and food suggestions. He was even willing to cut up a cake that we brought for our friend’s birthday and dimmed the lights so we could embarrass her by singing Happy Birthday! I didn’t have anything to eat, but the appetizers our table ordered came out quickly as they were ready. The cocktail list was great and my Old Fashioned was the best I’ve had in the city. I’ll definitely be back and I’ll come hungry next time!

Came here with a group of friends for brunch. The atmosphere is cozy in the winter. The menu had a nice selection of breakfast items and lunch. We started with the biscuits, which were homemade and served with butter and jam. I loved them. I then had the cheeseburger. It was really good but messy to eat. Overall, it was really good.

What a great place! A girlfriend and I came here on a Saturday night around 9ish and had no problem getting a hightop in the bar area. There was space in the separated dining area, but we wanted to be around more people. It is a chill atmosphere, not at all pretentious, the kind of place that would be a good meeting spot to grab a drink with a co-worker or even for a first date. I had the spinach salad, which was simply delicious. Loved the spiced pecans! And it wasnt too heavy on the dressing, much appreciated. For my main course, I had the short rib chili — yum! It had just the right enough of spice for me and I really enjoyed the whipped ricotta on top. The cornbread was just eh, so I decided to save the calories and indulge in the bread they gave when we sat instead. Our server was great! I cant remember his name, but he was very helpful when it came to assisting my friend in finding a diet-friendly option and a nice beer that would be worth her calorie count(she’s training for a competition). He was quick with the water refills and overall very pleasant. I skipped out on cocktails, but the list was extensive and I’ve heard nothing but great things about it! Loved the music that was playing! I’ll definitely be back to try brunch!

Lemon Hill is one of my favorite places in the city for a cocktail. You get the quality & creativity of Franklin Mortgage, but in a comfortable neighborhood bar instead of the elaborate speakeasy scene. «Comfortable neighborhood bar» is more up our alley these days, so Lemon Hill it is. They do a great job with classic cocktails; I had the best martini I’ve had in Philly here, as well as very good manhattans. In addition to cocktails, they always have a really interesting beer selection, and good happy hour specials. The bar service is very friendly and the bartenders are great about answering questions and making suggestions. As for food, we’ve eaten dinner as well as partaken in bar snacks, and everything has been excellent. The menu is constantly changing to highlight seasonal ingredients, and that’s what we like to see. For example, in spring we had a flatbread with stinging nettle pesto, wild mushrooms, English peas, radishes, and taleggio, which captured the season so well. If I lived in Fairmount I’d be here all the time!

The food and service here was amazing. The waiter was probably one of the best I’ve ever had– extremely friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. My friend and I decided to share a bunch of appetizers since they all looked so amazing. A few highlights: Dry rub wings. Usually I’m not a fan of dry rub but these were flavorful and crispy. Cheese curds. Yum. Fried cheese… what’s not to love. Goat’s milk ricotta. Ugh… so divine. Probably one of the most delicious things I’ve had. So silky smooth and creamy with some candied walnuts on top. I cannot wait to come back here!

I’m not in Fairmount too often but I was in neighborhood yesterday, so I popped in here for brunch(they were doing it all day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). We were seated right away in the cozy bar room — dark wooden bar, exposed brick, and bottles and bottles of whiskey. I ended up ordering the mussels, which was served in a white wine sauce with shaved brussel sprouts and chunks of whitefish. I’ve never had mussels the size of these — they were gigantic! After hearing the daily omelette featured house-made lamb sausage, we couldn’t resist and ordered that as well. Their omelettes are served with an adorable hash brown cake, which is kind of like a shredded potato croquette. Although their chic cocktail list looked enticing, I opted for a great pilsner from the quaint Neshaminy Creek Brewing in Bucks County. Lemon Hill is a very elegant gastropub tucked away in a more residential section of Fairmount. Places like this that are off the beaten path tend to offer a good representation of the neighborhood. After my visit to Lemon Hill, I’ll be sure to visit Fairmount more often.

What a cool spot to grab a drink. I’m not very experienced when it comes to mixed drinks but that doesn’t matter when you stop into Lemon Hill. The bartenders are so knowledgeable and really try to recommend a drink that will fit exactly what you are looking for. Its a bonus that they make all of their syrups etc. in house. I ordered the Blues Explosion as a few people mentioned it was tasty. I have to agree it was fantastic! My girlfriend wasn’t sure what she wanted so she just described the flavors and spirits she enjoyed. One of the bartenders recommended a Solar Flare which had been on a previous drink menu. It was almost exactly what she was looking for. I will make sure to stop in again for an after dinner drink or two. Someone commented that you should not drive to Lemon Hill. If you don’t mind walking 2 – 3 blocks you can park in the lot off of Fairmount. I think it was like $ 13 for several hours.

A colleague recommended this place after hearing of my love for The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company. He knew I appreciated a well-crafted cocktail, and Lemon Hill is owned by the same people. The recommendation was spot on. While the cocktail menu isn’t as extensive The Franklin Mortgage, it is as interesting as the cocktails in terms of ingredients and names of cocktails. I ordered the Transmetropolitan Punch which had gin and a cranberry-sage syrup, along with some other ingredients. It was enjoyable, but the sage flavor wasn’t as predominant as I’d hoped. However, I am in love with the Sweet 16 in Leather Boots. The orange flavor, Clemente Creole Shrubb, dominates this cocktail while the flavor of the rye comes through, but isn’t too overwhelming. It’s rich and great for sipping. Not only does this place have great cocktails, but I can’t help but love this place because they also have Berliner Weisse, one of the few beers I drink. Not only do they have it, but they will gladly add raspberry syrup to it. Usually when I inquire if a bar has the syrup, they look at me like I’m crazy. Here, the server said not only did they have it, but they would think you were even cooler for asking for it in your Berliner Weisse! If you’ve never had it, it’s a very tarte lemony beer and the syrup helps to tone down some of that tartness. So refreshing and delicious! The only food I tried was the fried cheese curds. They were tasty piping hot breaded little morsels of fried cheese. Good, but it’s fried cheese, and hard to screw up unless it comes out cold. I loved the vinegar hot pepper sauce for dipping. It took us over thirty minutes of driving around this neighborhood to find a parking space, but in the end it was well worth it. The only thing that is stopping me from giving this place five stars, is that the service got kind of spotty there at the end. It was almost impossible to flag down our server to get our check, and it took us about 45 minutes to do so. I see this possibly being a five star place in the future if there is better service.

Came here for some post-dinner drinks. Was pleasantly surprised by the cute ceiling decorations! Such a cozy little place for drinks! Our server was also nice enough to answer all our quiz questions regarding which drinks contained what. Surprisingly, he seemed to have every ingredient down to the lemon drop. Specialty craft drinks $ 9, which isn’t bad considering the quality. Cons: parking, and somewhat limited menu. still a great place to check out.

First a warning: Do your best NOT drive here. Although I live in the city, my suburbs friend picked me up and we drove here. I didn’t realize that parking in this neighborhood was so very terrible! Once we finally found parking, we walked the 6 or so blocks to Lemon Hill. It is a small cozy place with lots of warm dark wood. It is broken into two small rooms, one with the bar and a few tables and the other dedicated to dining. The menu was small, but jam-packed with lots of delicious sounding options. We had the cheese curd as an appetizer. My friend had a salad and a lattke(sweet potato?) — I had two sides as an entrée, creamy gits and roasted root veggies. We did alot of sharing and everything was delicious. PS — lots of vegetarian friendly options! I almost forgot to mention the drinks! Ohhh, the drinks! I hear that one of the partners in Lemon Hill is also associated with Franklin Mortgage. If so, it shows. They have a lovely drink menu. Of course there were nice beer and wine options, but I ogled over the cocktails. I finally settled on the«Blues Explosion», which was a re-imagined nod to an Old Fashioned. It was amazing! A-MAY-ZING! Our server was energetic and fun! Prices were more than fair. Definitely will go back!

We stopped in here for brunch on Saturday. We sat in the bar area this time. It was nice and relaxing there were few patrons in there, which was fine with us. I loved the people watching on the quiet Fairmount Street. I had Mike’s Farmhouse breakfast– the blood sausage was the main reason for my order and it did not disappoint! This dish satisfied my craving for a sorely missed Irish breakfast– the only complaint would be the eggs, I know what three scrambled eggs should look like and it looked very light on both or plates. He got the standard, he said the food was good, but nothing memorable. Both portions were huge and washing them down with some whiskey with some coffee and a bloody mary, started our Saturday morning on a good note!

There is an elusive and perfect atmosphere to a bar. It’s a provocative and comfortable feeling. Lemon Hill has captured it spot on. I don’t love cocktails in general, but and excellent cocktail is often well worth the price. And if you want to be a believer, order a «Blues Explosion.» Our bartender crafted the drinks perfectly, and was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food menu doesn’t have much that excites me, or maybe its more the fact that the drinks are just so enticing. Lemon Hill has already shot to the top of my list for cocktails in Philadelphia. Here’s hoping they start doing weekday lunch.

We came here for graduation cocktails a couple of nights ago. This place is freaking adorable. The décor is classy yet comfortable, and our bartender was so approachable, fun, and clearly knew her stuff. Every drink we tried was delicious and strong. So strong that we had to order some fries to soak up the ethers. They were good, too. I’m already trying to think of excuses to go back…

The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company fucked Cheers and this is what came out. This is the sexiest non-underground, large-windowed, non-Vegas, well-lit bar I’ve ever been to. The staff is very friendly and take their cocktail mixing seriously. For those who find The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company a little bit too dark, sleek, and sexy, Lemon Hill provides a friendly, welcoming alternative where you can get drinks with people that you may not be intent on sleeping with. All of the house made cocktails are exceptional and they make a very good St. Germain’s cocktail.
