This place has been closed up for quite a while. A new place is under construction.

Well, looks like there are 2 listings for this dump, so I’ll post to both! Out of our party of 4, two people got sick from the food. I ordered the Chicken Mole tacos– sounds good, right? Well, when they came, no Mole sauce. When I asked about it, she said they were out! WTF! IFYOUCAN’T MAKETHEDISH, TAKEITOFFTHEMENU. Our friend got the TED(Thanksgiving Every Day) sandwich and she sent it back for the fish and chips. Imagine a half inch slice of $hitty lunch meat turkey, plopped on a bun. Yeah, that’s appetizing! Fish and chips later made her sick! Wife ordered one of their burgers and she got sick an hour later(and my wife never gets sick). Compound all of this with fries, onion rings and dumpling apps all obviously out of a freezer made by Sams Club– what an embarrassment. Never go here.

I try to check out a new taco place every Tuesday, so this came up on the list one week. Great fish tacos! I love the sauce on them. And the chive sour cream is so simply tasty, why don’t more places do it?

We went for taco night on Tuesday… it was very mediocre, but seemed like a good neighborhood spot. The baja fish taco was tasty but I ended up getting kind of sick that night so… I dont know. I was most excited for the poutine, but it sadly lacked gravy… very little on the bottom of the plate and I kept searching for more :( The spanish fries were good too and I did hear good things about the service there from others though we were ignored for a good amount of time. It was very forgettable in my book…

Wow — From some of these reviews, I wasn’t expecting much of this place before I got there last night(Sat.) to meet some friends. Some of you are so hard on a place, and bash them with your whiney one and two star ratings because you had the misfortune to get a waitress or a cook with an off night. C’mon! This place was great! Relax — get that stick out of your ass. We got there early,(5 of us) around 6 and so the place was pretty empty. Uh oh. Why is this place empty just when the world is about to end: o We met and stayed at the bar, watched the Preakness, and drank some good, cold, fresh beer(Palm for me) and pretty good mixed drinks, had burgers, fish and beef tacos and spanish fries. I have to tell you — everything was top quality. Prepared well, fresh, timely service. Even my farty foodie friends were quite pleased. I hardly ever order a burger out because I’m so tired of the huge portions of lousy meat every other place serves. Their Lucky 7 Burger was a hit. I tasted one and was sorry I didn’t order it, although I was REALLY happy with my fish tacos. And the happiest of all — we each got out of there with eating and drinking for a couple hours for about $ 35 ea. Oh yeah, btw — the bartender(John?) WASN’T having an off night. He was just perfect. My first but not last time at Lucky 7. (By the way, what’s with the name«Lucky 7?» At first thought they were taking me to a Chinese Restaurant)

Oh dear… another unfortunate Fairmount eatery plagued with mediocre food and service! When will this side of town get it right?! We stopped in Sunday to grab some ‘quick’ brunch. It was noon and the place was empty, this could be great or this could be sketchy… The waiter/bartender, greeted us with a ‘Are you eating’ as we walked in the door. Well, considering it’s noon on Sunday and I brought a book with me, I guess he thought we were going to go crazy with the keg stands. When he came over to drop off the menus, I could see why he thought we might have been ready for a drink– his glassy expression make me think he didn’t know what time it was. Nevertheless, we were the only ones in there and it seemed that his cook had his head on straight, we ordered the Aspen egg sandwich and the eggs benedict, that has to be pretty easy right? The egg sandwich came out ok, but the chef royally bumbled my poached eggs! There were two hard boiled eggs on top of my canadian bacon and english muffin sans holladaise sauce! I had to send it back as it was just completely unedible, how anyone sent that out of the kitchen is beyond me! It took about another 15 minutes for it to come back out– this time still no sauce, but I got a sunny side up! I pretty much picked the fruit garnish and had some of the muffin, as I could not sent it back a third time– at this point I just realized that eggs benedict was not happening, if I had to ask for water or a refill of coffee one more time– I would have had a meltdown. Needless to say– our brunch outing was neither quick nor fulfilling. I am all about supporting my neighborhood, however, let’s just call this place a bar and end the misery. It was too gorgeous of a day to get hung up on a terrible meal, but never again.

I dig this place. I stop here, Krupa’s and Jumbo’s when I make my rounds in Fairmount. Worth a visit.

$ 1.00 taco tuesday and pretty good beer, is the way to do it. The atmosphere in this place is pretty mellow too, they have a few LCD tv’s for watching sports and what not. This is a really cool place to hit up in the fairmount area, especially on tuesdays, please check this place out if you are in the fairmount area, it will not disappoint…(if your look for a good beer and tacos that is)

Loved the old world, antique bar ambiance… Saturday night had an interesting crowd of patrons, mostly local, according to the cute bartender. Plenty of affordable beer and wine selections — they even have 21st Amendment available. We loved all of the food we ordered… were quite impressed. Clam chowder — slightly spicy and chunky Fish tacos were recommended to us… to our delight, we scarfed ‘em down in no time! Didn’t taste like fish at all — it was just a burst of flavor. The burger was stacked high and well seasoned. Our favorite was the truffle fries! We also went the extra mile and ordered a fried, tortilla wrapped, CHeesecake! That’s correct. A little Latino flair… This would be our local spot if we lived closer… darn it!!!

Great taco tuesdays, good vibe, good beers on tap — CASHONLY I’ve been coming here for years, since the Aspen days… and the newer incarnation Lucky 7 has really come into its own as a decent little neighborhood spot to check out. Great place to watch the game, and enjoy some fish tacos(they are the best). Cheap beer specials and a pretty good jukebox make this the perfect weeknight spot to chill w/friends. The restaurant is cash only — but there is an ATM at the door.

This is a quite and relaxed bar at brunchtime, I always go for the eggs Benedict and poutine. The fourth star goes to the ladies restroom in Lucky 7. It’s nicely decorated and has scented candles. It makes you feel the owners have really taken the time to make sure they have catered for the clients.

I’ve tried this place a couple times since they opened and I have to admit, I’m not impressed. Each time I’ve done the food has been mediocre and at least one of the meals that’s come out was just awful. My dad’s burger roll completely fell apart and the other time my sister’s grilled cheese was anything but. My sister and I also ordered the chocolate chocolate cake for dessert and instead we were served a Carvel Ice Cream cake. I don’t even want to know why they would have that in their freezer. On top of mediocre food the beers are well over priced, even for the«Art Museum» area!

I was fan of Aspen before they closed & reopened as Lucky 7. Since then I’ve been to the revamped bar a few times. They have an very good beer selection which they rotate frequently. The service is good at the bar & the bartenders are attentive and friendly. It’s a nice spot to watch the game or pass the time when you’re building loses power(true story). As for the food, I’ve really enjoyed some solid brunches there — the Eggs Benedict choices are great & I love their Bloody Marys. That being said, I decided to branch out & try the burrito the other night. I’ve gotta say, I think it was the worst burrito I’ve ever had. It was completely without flavor. It was like baby food in a tortilla. Disappointing.

Went here on the late side in the middle of the week. Phillies game was on. Bar was relatively quiet. Good drink and bar menu prices. Ladies room is fantastic! Seems to be a dining room off the side of the main bar area… will come back for that. Overall, a great neighborhood establishment.

Can’t beat $ 2.50 Coronas on Tuesdays, the juke box, and the friendly neighborhood bar feeling. I had dinner here over the winter, and finally got around to coming back tonight for some beers after my football game. Despite the good vibe and ample seating, I had to ding them one star for not accepting credit cards. I hope they are planning to change that at some point.

A stop in for brunch revealed more of a breakfast menu than brunch — the only vegetables I spotted were in the Eggs Florentine, unless you count potatoes as a veggie. If you’re in the mood for some hardcore hangover food, though, try the Lucky 7 Breakfast — fries topped with cheese, sausage, fried eggs and gravy. Bangin. I had the breakfast sandwich on an english muffin, with sausage and gruyère. No patty sausage, and the links were kind of tasteless. Not the greatest, which is sad bc i love some of their other dinner offerings, and the service was solid. But that florentine looked pretty yummy, so I’ll have to be back to try it out…

I like what they are doing food-wise, reviving the Aspen vibe & some of the menu, emphasis on sandwiches, good beer selection etc. Bonus points for having fish tacos and serving until 1AM. Many of the menu items are listed at $ 7.77, but the drinks add up. Beware — they don’t take credit cards, so be sure you have a crisp $ 50 bill or two in your pocket.(Also, a brand-x ATM is present for your convenience.)

This place has great food and is spacious enough to accommodate groups. We went for brunch but there was a weird thing about the entire table either electing to order from the brunch menu or the lunch menu. We chose the lunch menu. I had a quesadilla which was pretty delicious but the best was my side of sweet potato fries. I also tried someone else’s fries with truffle oil — totally delicious. Everyone else had burgers and raved about them. The service is decent and the beers on tap are pretty interesting. Coffee leaves a bit to be desired. But it’s a bar — I didn’t expect much different.

This is a great addition to the neighborhood for people who are looking for normal food. Many of the items are priced at $ 7.77. I got a seat right away on a Friday night. Dinner for two was $ 20 without drinks. I got the Goucho Burger, which should come with jalapeños, but they were missing from my burger. This place is good for most occasions, most people will find something they like and leave satisfied. Pros: Good music Low prices Cons: Tight seating No area to wait for a table MIA waitress Parking is hit or miss

I have to disagree with the 1 star review. You were expecting too much. If the original Aspen didn’t have it, Lucky 7 wasn’t going to. You seem like you want an obscure Canadian dish. Honestly, Lucky 7 is Aspen. The menu is almost identical, which is a good think. They have a decent beer selection, as well. I had the Goucho Burger. It was cooked perfectly, and the onion rings complemented it nicely. I shared the Honey Chipotle Wings They were cooked nicely, and had a decent amount of kick to them. The Thanksgiving Every Day Sandwich was also as good as I remember it at Aspen. Overall, I would go back. I wish they took credit card, but they will eventually. I would recommend this.
