April 2014, I did it, and I had a BLAST!!! Here’s my fun tips to dye happy: BEFORETHERACE: — First and foremost, DON“T train hard. It is a loose«FUN» 5K, not a marathon. Whether its your first 5k or you are a well established triathlete, just have fun, and don’t take the race so seriously! — Wear WHITE! After all, you want to showoff that awesome color. — Choose your clothes wisely. Wear cheap WHITE clothes, you may not be able to wear them again! I’m assuming you don’t have disposable clothes. — Hot day(yes?), sleeveless top(NO!), unless you like the look of colorful armpits. Don’t fool yourself, you won’t be able not to raise your arms, for a reason or another. — You don’t want to be boring, wear your old wedding dress, after all it is white! I was less ridiculous(shocked?! I know!) and I wore my famous rainbow tutu. Yes, I own one, and yes you can be jealous. — Braid your hair, and try to apply some coconut or olive oil. Trust me, this will make your life a hell of a lot easier afterwards when you try to remove the color. — Don’t forget to wear your swimming goggles ! it won’t even prevent the color powder from getting in your precious eyes, but at least you are trying. — Pack some towels and washcloths. You’ll be coated with unlimited color powder and chalk, and it won’t come off your skin easily. — Don’t overlook the” before” the race photo, for your keepsake! DURINGTHERACE: — They offer free water bottle? take it, you will NEED it. — Act crazy! Throw powders on others, and encourage them to throw colors on your. After all it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. See a volunteer? Pause and you’ll be drenched with colors. Oh you got yellow? please yellow mellow me! — Crossing the color zone? Don’t open your mouth! I repeat, DON’T OPEN your mouth. Unless you like the taste of cornstarch colors. It sucks, but it is not harmful. — HAVEFUN! AFTERTHERACE: — Don’t forget the«after» the race photo, for your keepsake! — This might be the most colorful day of your life, prepare to take the longest shower ever! Don’t expect to be completely color-free right away, the color might stay in your hair for a day or two. Victory fun proof. CONGRATULATION. You are living life in full color! Four and half Unilocal
