Hickory Tavern

They have a good selection of food and an extensive craft beer menu. Most of my time there has been spent on one of the two outside patios where you can smoke. This is a great place to check out if you are in the area but I recommend staying away if it is a football or UFC night because that place gets PACKED and it seems like they don’t have the staff to keep up with the rush, otherwise it is a good place to hangout and grab a pint or a bite to eat.

This place has gone downhill. Bad service and bad food. I used to depend on a good salad, Sour ingredients, sour faces, and ugly times in the bathroom. Ridiculous! The staff needs education about handling glasses and food. People should get certified by Serv Safe.

Was just visiting from out of town and wanted a little night life and sports, place was awesome, wings were great, and the bartenders were very attentive.

Overall atmosphere is really nice. Family sports bar with awesome Nachos! Drink prices are fair and specials offered.
The customer service was horrible. Initially we were told to sit anywhere in the bar so we took a seat at an empty table with no signs or anything on it. Waitress came over after a bit and said, «you need to move these are reserved.» There were no other seats open so we had to go to the dining area. We went back to the hostess stand and told we are just wanting to get drinks and told they could seat us only in the bar. After a couple of minutes of arguing amongst themselves we were seated at a 5 top for 2 people. That waitress then came over and said that people were getting ready to leave the bar and asked that we move there. Finally got a seat at the bar and enjoyed drinks.

Hit or miss when it’s good it’s good and vice versa Be prepared for a noisey experience

Told the kitchen was behind on orders and it would be 2 hours for food. It’s 7:30 on a Sunday night.

Stopped in here on Christmas eve for a beer and dinner. This is my second time here. Nice sports bar with tons of TVs and an impressive beer list with decent prices to match. Had a great selection of local craft beer. On Christmas eve, they had a $ 3 draft special running till they closed at 9 which was awesome! The wait staff are attentive enough. The wings are great, nice and meaty, though if you are looking for heat just go with the hot wings. Most flavors are great, just not that spicy. Get them charred, just like off the grill at home! When I come home to visit, I’ll continue to make this my first stop.

Bbq chicken nachos are great! House salad wasn’t my favorite. Service was good and wings had interesting sauce choices.

My go to sports bar when visiting family in the area. Large menu with plenty of tvs to watch your favorite game!
Food: 3.5 stars– average pub food
Atmosphere: 4 stars — plenty of tvs and large bar area
Location: 5 stars– excellent spot between Southern Pines and Pinehurst
Service: 4 stars– staff is friendly and attentive
Will be back for sure!

They need to work on the BBQ chicken nachos! It was BBQ sauce poured onto the chips and some tiny chicken pieces at the bottom of the bowl if you could tolerate it long enough to get to the bottom. It was all shoved into a very small soup bowl. According to the server it’s better if you get the large size. Yuk! Just get the burger!

Our first time trying the tavern was for lunch on a Friday so I can’t speak as to what it is like for dinner. The restaurant has a great layout for a sportsbar with a large number of televisions such that every table has a view of several tvs. Our server was extremely nice and service was fast which was great for a work lunch. The food itself was slightly above average bar food but not worth the sixteen dollars for eight chicken wings and a side salad. Regrettably unable to check out the beer list. The wet hand towels post wings was a real touch of class.

Great service. I had shrimp tacos they were wonderful. Tavern chips were a little too crispy and brown. My hubby had buffalo chicken tacos they were great. We had waters. $ 25 dollars including tip great deal for dinner.

Come here for the beer and the TVs, that’s it. Have been here a few times now and the food is carnival at best. The service… horrible. Better just to go somewhere else.

I stopped here for lunch the other day. I thought the restaurant itself looked fantastic. It’s a huge upscale sports bar. I found the service to be very attentive and friendly. It was looking good until the food arrived.
I started with the chili. It came out with a frozen dollop of sour cream on top. Beneath that was some really mediocre and bitter chili. No heat or seasoning. Then, my Chicken Colorado, tater tots, and fruit plate arrived. The fruit looked like it’d been cut up the day before and came out of the back of the fridge. The tots… man the tots. How do you mess up tater tots? They looked crispy, but when I stuck a fork in them they just completely fell apart. The Chicken Colorado wasn’t much better. It was rubbery and flavorless. It tasted like it’d been reheated in a microwave with a packet of toppings poured on it.
Maybe I picked a really bad day? Maybe I should’ve had a burger and fries? Nothing tasted fresh. It all seemed like pre-​packaged stuff just reheated and slapped on a plate.

We really like this place. Great beer selection, wine specials, and the food is great. I really don’t know about some of these negative reviews. When in town we go here first. The oysters are fresh, the ahi tuna is great (get the appetizer not the entrée), my son loves the Reuben, my daughter loves the salads and nachos, it’s all great. Nothing beats a warm spring day sitting on the patio. (We don’t have warm spring days in Ohio, so maybe that’s part of my love for this place.). Definitely beats the other places nearby.

Great sports bar with TV’s everywhere! It doesn’t matter what sport you want to watch, it’s guaranteed to be on one of those big screens. The food has greatly improved from when they first opened. The house made chips are always crispy and warm. Chicken Colorado is to die for. I like the build your own salads and the hubby loves their vast selection of beer. Wait staff is always attentive and friendly. Service is usually quick as well. Managers are always present and checking on tables. It’s the place to be after a Friday night home football game!

My husband and I are new to the area, and Hickory Tavern is one of our new favorite spots! They have a large outdoor patio — which is great to be able to bring our dog. The menu has everything you would want at a sports bar and more — I love the build your own salad option. They have tons of TVs located throughout and have the NFL package — which will be nice for football season.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food is good, beer selection is great and prices were very reasonable. We definitely plan to become regulars!

Decent sports bar, pub food in Pinehurst. I really liked this place. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough of them that I will frequent around the Fayetteville area.
They have outdoor seating (which I like!), tons of screens to pick up just about any game you would want to watch.
Our server was great (also can be rare around here). They have large selection of beers, but I am not a beer drinker. Had to go w/​a Redd’s Apple Ale. I would have preferred a Smirnoff or Mike’s Hard Lemonade. Not a biggie by any means and just my own personal preference.
Also, the servers are clothed. I am not a femi-​nazi nor threatened by other women and their «assets», but I don’t exactly want to take my mother or young nephews to a near strip club that happens to serve food.
I would def return here! Wish it was closer.
