I really enjoyed the wet burrito(Burrito Mojado)! A lot of times I get them at places and it feels like the burrito is swimming, damn near drowned in the sauce but not here. The sauce was present but not overpowering and the burrito itself was great. Their al pastor had a nice light kick to it and their salsa, if a little runny, is divine. I came once because of a Groupon but I had to come back already because I was dreaming of that wet burrito. Personally, I love this place.

Cold food and no flavor. Salsa and chips are wack so I should have known it would be all bad!

This is definitely not my first choice… It’s always busy. Not sure why… The flavor just isn’t there. It’s just not my cup of tea maybe? My nachos were soggy, and cold. And there was water on the plate… Maybe they dropped my nachos in water first??? Who knows… Nice staff tho

I’m not in the area as much as I’d like to be, but whenever it is that I am, I LOVETHECROSSFITBURRITO. Spinach Tortilla, Brown Rice, Black Beans, Steak, Shrimp, I’m not sure what else comes in it, but it is SOOOOOOGOOD!

While the staff seem efficient and friendly, the food at Taqueria Sanchez is subpar at best. There was a line when my friends and I arrived here, so I had some fairly high hopes for the food here– hopes which weren’t realized. I’m a big fan of tortilla chips, and these struck me as just«meh.» When the chips aren’t great, you know you’re in trouble. But the salsa was pretty good, so I mowed quite a few down anyway. The Pozole I ordered had nary a vegetable in sight– no maiz blanco, no onion. While there was plenty of pork, the Pozole I had had is full of vegetables too, and is generally a clear soup served with a lemon or lime wedge, with layered flavors from the vegetables and meat, and some tortillas on the side. What I got was an opaque«soup,» gritty from spices trying to substitute for good cooking. The meat managed to be plentifully tasteless, with balls of what I can only guess was masa in between. The taco I had was better than the Pozole, but still nothing to write home about. The grittiness of the spices on my carne asada was palpable, but the flavor was improved by their decent house salsa. The taco was really the best part of my meal. The theme of grittiness was repeated even in the horchata. A lot of people talk smack about Chipotle, but I think I should have gone there instead. My friends didn’t enjoy their meals either, which included a meat quesadilla and a veggie burrito. Thumbs down all around.

I would just like to apologize to Taqueria Sanchez. I was in n the phone when I was ordering and I always think people are rude who do that and I ended up doing it, my fault. The guy at the register was very nice and polite, even though I was«multitasking». I even forgot to use the Unilocal check-in promo, that’s what I get for being on the phone. This place is great! This was my first time coming here, I was Unilocaling for a good burrito place in the area and I found this one via reading another restaurant’s Unilocal review and the Unilocaler mentioned this place as being better quality. I ordered 2 Sanchez burritos(carne asada & pollo asado) and a flautos Platos(or is it flautas). The flautas came in 3, I got two pollo and one carne. I should have gotten all carne because it was bomb! Another flop on my part for being on the phone, I actually wanted carne asada fries, but couldn’t find it on the menu. After ordering and paying, o saw it there in big letters. Womp! I will definitely come back and order it. The service was great and they even bade me adieu. There is a playground right be t to it and a outdoor area to enjoy your edibles. Lesson of this review/experience: get off your phone and come here!

Great food, right on the park with outdoor seating. Nice people. Awesome. I definitely plan on returning here. The horchata and the California burrito was a perfect meal.

Just moved into the neighborhood. So I decided to check out the other local Mexican restaurant available for me. Right when me and the wifey walked in for lunch we were greeted by a cool hermano. He might be the owner, he gave great customer service. He was genuinely friendly and hospitable. They had some Carlos Santana playing which reminded me of the Mexican restaurants out in the Mission. I got an al pastor torta that was bomb. My wife got a chile verde burrito that she thought was ok. I try it and thought it was good. The salsas were definietly good. The owner then came over and gave us chips and salsa. The al pastor is spicy so if you like sweet al pastor avoid it.

A decent place for a quick Mexican Food fix. Love the new Salsa Bar, nothing like fresh salsa with your chips or food.

I ate there last night after not being there in almost five years. I had two hard shell tacos with ground beef with a side of refried beans and rice. I woke up around 12:30am not feeling good at all. I ended up getting sick(vomiting blood –one symptom of food poisoning). My friend, also, was not feeling well. She didn’t finish her nacho grande at the restaurant so she brought them home. They are still in the fridge probably to be thrown away. I will never return and warn others as well.

Service was poor. Place was dirty. Price was high. Stingy with the salsa, and the food was just okay. Not a place we will be coming back.

Great customer service, especially from the owner! Genuinely friendly and hospitable. I come here often during lunch breaks, and I find the food is consistently delicious. Love the chips and their salsa is AMAZING.

Not sure what happened to taqueria Sanchez. The CA burrito sure doesn’t taste or look the way like it did last year. Ordered the CA burrito with carne asada for pick up and when I first took a bite, the taste was different. The meat definitely was not carne asada, it looked and taste like shredded beef, the burrito itself was salty and the fries in the burrito tasted like they’ve been sitting out for awhile. So disappointing. Guess I won’t be going here anymore.

Salsa’s here are amazing and the people who work here are so nice. The gentleman working the register was working hard to take care of his customers and you could tell he was enjoying it as well. He might have been the owner. I had a tamale and it was really good almost as good as mine :) masa was moist and it had a ton of pork inside. My only complaint would be that the rice was a little overcooked but it was still good. Really cute place inside and they have a patio area to sit outside when the weather’s nice.

Thanks to Terry T’s reviews this place was on my radar. I would have totally missed it otherwise. It’s in the back of a small strip mall perpendicular to San Pablo Avenue down the block from Tina’s Place and across San Pablo from Pear Street Bistro. Alan, Nina and I came here for lunch today after class at the Y. We were welcomed warmly by the genial host. Today was tamale Thursday and I was sorely tempted, but the menu was so vast I wanted to explore it a bit. Tuesdays are, of course, tamale day, for those of a certain age. Nina ordered a tamale w/rice and beans. I thought about a chile relleno but decided I wanted something lighter, so ordered a flauta plato, two beef and one chicken. Alan ordered a majado(I think), a huge wet burrito w/a mound of guacamole on top. He had a discussion w/George, the owner, about needing a low salt diet. George cautioned him that the chips were lightly salted, and teased Alan when he brought us salt and pepper shakers w/our food, placing the salt shaker away from him, encouraging him to use the pepper instead. The inside of the restaurant is attractive, w/painted wooden chairs and tables. I found the chairs comfortable, but then I’m partial to straight back wooden chairs. There’s a nice, large patio overlooking the park in back. Looking out the window I could see a children’s play structure. Nina raved about her tamale. I loved my flautas, which came w/rice and refried beans. There was chopped lettuce and some guacamole on the side. The flautas were crispy on the ends and soft in the middle and were filled w/just enough meat. I’d say I’d have them again, but there are so many other things to try before I do. Too bad I won’t be going to my exercise class for a few weeks because I’m having hip replacement surgery on the 14th. Alan’s dish was huge and very tasty. He finished all but a small portion of it and was very pleased. He gave me a bite and it was excellent. We didn’t sample the salsa bar, just the salsa that was brought out w/the chips. Next time we’ll sample more. Prices were reasonable and the quality of the food was terrific.

So I truly wanted to continue to support this restaurant as it is local to me, but it seemed like every time my family and I eat here, there is some sort of negativity. And sadly, its from the owner. The food, is decent, nothing to rave about. The prices are about normal for a taqueria. When we first moved to the area it was owned by a woman, she ran the resturaunt well and made each and every costumer feel welcomed. The new owner however seems to have his good days and his bad days. And sadly, he lets his bad days show, even to the customers. He mico manages the chips and salsa to the point that he will actually say something to a customer if he thinks the customer is taking too much salsa. Example: I was there eating with my family and back when he had a salsa bar open for customers, there was a guy who was getting a few sides of salsa for his togo order, he seemed in a good mood as he filled up his salsa cups, that was until the owner who was breaking down boxes right near the customer, stops and says in an offensive way«thats a lot of salsa you’re taking there» and the customer stopped, looked a little shocked and replied to him«well I ordered a lot of food» the owner rolled his eyes and kept breaking down boxes. I thought that was the most unprofessional thing I have seen in a long time. Btw, he now has warning all over his restaurant about taking *too much salsa*. at every table. Month ago we ordered pick up, it was a big and pricey order, they had two bags in there of chips,… 5 chips in each bag.. why… why even waste the bags… I can tell he must really scold his employees on chip and salsa rationing. Be prepard for nasty looks if you ask for more salsa or chips. There were a few other things that were a bit disturbing but really it all comes down to the owner. He needs to allow his hired employees handle the customers, because he has no customer service skills whatsoever. I’m giving two stars. One for the area, and one for the awesome hired employees.

I have a lot of check-ins because S and I like the salsa. When I go here I buy two containers – so we can have his and hers and not fight over the last drop. The food is the same as my prior review

Wonderful food and Amazing service. We hired to cater our parents 50th Anniversary party. George and his team arrived at the location, set up everything and cooked off and served hot, fresh, DELICIOUS fajitas to 120 guests. Also on the menu chili verde, rice and beans and wonderful fresh made salsas and pico de gallo. EVERYONE raved about the food. Will use them again and again.

Never been to this place and the stress from work had allowed me to take a visit since it was near and the anxiety made me want to try something new. I came in and it looked just like your regular taqueria with a nice outside patio and also facing the park which is a great location. Ordered their two chicken tacos for $ 4.50 and complimentary chips and salsa. I sat down on a semi clean table. Clearly i wasn’t expecting much since I know most places during lunch get a bit dirty but there was literally only me in the restaurant so I found that to be lazy. My chicken tacos came. Very small tortilla with packed meat. The meat was sauced up. It made the tortilla so saucy the tortilla broke apart. I grabbed a fork to finish it like a salad. I was super hungry but I didn’t enjoy this at all. The chicken was rough and dry even with the sauce. The price was decent considering they have prime commercial property. Will I come back? Most likely not. But this has mix reviews so I would advise you try it and see for yourself.
