We stumbled upon this Highway 1 restaurant for a snack and drink between breakfast and lunch. The food is expensive but quite tasty. On the other hand, the service was very slow. We had to get up and track down our waitress to get a refill and some additional sauce. Would we stop again on the trip back down Highway 1? Probably not. The views were good but did not make up for the rest of our experience.

Although the hostesses were awfully unorganized and had no clue what was going on, the waitress was excellent considering the large size of our party and the food was one of the best brunches I’ve had that I can recall. Beautiful setting, good food and reasonably priced for what you get. Would def recommend to out of towners but make sure you make a reservation!

We were a group of 8 seated per our reservation at 6 and did not get our dinners until 7:10. Please! Over an hour to get served. Two of our diners ordered starters and they were served in a timely manner, but the rest of us waited and waited while we watched tray after tray going into the bar to serve happy hour guests. Food was Ok once it arrived. The only thing the waiter did quickly was refill wine glasses. Unacceptable!

Disappointed. Came straight from work expecting to have Wine with Popsicles that was advertised on their Facebook page. But they didn’t have any and they didn’t even know of the post :(

We came in on a Monday Evening, after our 3 hour drive to The Cliffs Resort. We weren’t feeling like looking for a restaurant to drive to and heard Marisol was pretty good. The happy hour menu online listed pork tacos(doesn’t help us because we don’t eat pork). But we figured we’d just order off the regular menu and enjoy dinner. We got a great table outside, overlooking the ocean. And then our server, Courtney, let us know: They were making grilled fish tacos Monday for happy hour. Perfect! They come on flour tortillas(menu says no substitutions but due to a food allergy they used corn instead for us). Let me tell you, these fish tacos were damn good. We ordered 4 a piece.($ 6 for 2). Ample size and perfectly seasoned. Loved them. They offered select Monday Margaritas on the rocks for $ 5 each. They were nice. I liked the mango, she liked the coconut. Done. Courtney is an excellent server. She’s quick, efficient, personable, and knowledgeable. The following day I ordered a Wild Rocket Salad poolside. I added chicken, substituted queso fresco and did a vinaigrette. Courtney was just as pleasant through my salad adjustments. Salad was on point. It was delicious. Drinks and fries tonight. Didn’t disappoint. Dana is also an outstanding server. She’s on top of everything. Yes, I recommend Marisol. Duh. Ha ha

Being treated like a king today by Jeff Whittaker and David Kline. These guys really make you feel at home. They are the heart and sole of what makes Marisol @ The Cliffs Resort so great. Drinks and service are on point. Never disappointed when I walk in and see them.

We had a beautiful Memorial Day weekend at The Cliffs Resort & Marisol, thanks especially to the Maitre d’ David Kline. Wonderful food, stunning views, and David goes out of his way to make all the guests feel special. We’ve stayed at the Cliffs before and we will definitely be back in the future!

My wife and I enjoyed this place from beginning to end! The view was amazing, they brought her a blanket while we dined outside and the heat lamp was just right! We sat outside and had a view of the game in one direction and a movie just down below. The kids watched the cartoon, Cars and had hot chocolate and s’mores. Now with the amazing Food! I had an awesome warm bowl of clam chowder, the taste was buttery and cubed potatoes were just right! For the main course I had the 8oz filet and garlic mashed potato and topped with ginger soy, it was heaven! I cannot say enough about the service, the food and the view! You will not be disappointed.

We were guests at the cliff resort and had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in the manager David Kline greeted us with a smile and warm friendly demeanor. He really added to our dining experience by recommending food and drinks as well as treating us so warmly. If you have the chance to experience this great place ask to need David he will make the experience enjoyable and we will definitely be back because of him. Thank you Marisol and David for an amazing weekend.

Beautiful view if you get a view seat. We were actually here quite a bit during our trip. They do a brunch and they have a bar and they do dinner. We went to those three! The brunch was ok. Kind of expensive for what it was. $ 29 for everything(not including champagne). They have an omelette bar and some fruit and lots of baked goods. Not the best quality of food and the plates seemed a little dirty. We went with a big group for dinner. The food was decent to good. I got chicken with mashed potatoes and liked it and my husband ended up with some steak dish and thought it was ok. Nothing memorable though. The bar was fun– probably their best feature. Good wines to choose from and interesting cocktails. The bar tender got little sassy here and there if you asked a question– but I think he was overwhelmed from the size of the group. It also closes at like 10PM. Which is crazy.

Took 1.5 hours for food to come to our table. Had to chase down the waitress to get our drinks. Horrible service. Also, check came with a price increase for two dishes. How hard is it with such a limited menu?

I was skeptical of this place based on none of the reviews being on dinner and an abrupt semi rude phone conversation with the restaurant. But… The restaurant was gorgeous inside and out on the patio. Phil G was an excellent waiter! He was attentive and made excellent food recommendations. He even brought blankets at dusk when it cooled down outside. The food was excellent! We had a group of 7 and everyone’s food was great… Nachos, chicken wrap, fish & chips, chicken tacos, steak and even the rocket salad. There was a wide selection of wines to choose from too. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

Hard to beat the view, but there were a couple pain points. We stayed at the Cliffs next store and were hoping to go in just for breakfast. Apparently we can’t just, you know, ORDERBREAKFAST, we have to sign up for a $ 40 «bottem-less mimosa breakfast buffet»… except we didn’t want to drink. They still were going to charge us $ 40 even though we just wanted to buffet(or really to order breakfast). Super annoying policy. So they made us wait 30 minutes until they started serving lunch. Only, when we ordered, it took a full-on extra hour to fulfill the order. Will definitely NOT be going back when I visit Pismo… Suggestion: offer normal breakfast!

I’ve been here several times for Taco Tuesday with my girlfriends. It’s always super busy during that time, so you have to watch for seating and grab it quick! It’s been awhile since I’ve been here for Taco Tuesday since I haven’t lived in the area in 6 years, but from what I remember it was good. Their drinks were good and so was their tacos! To be quite honest, since it’s been 6 years, I don’t even know if they do Taco Tuesdays anymore! Recently, I stayed in The Cliffs Hotel for a Christian Women’s Retreat. Marisol is the restaurant for the hotel. With the cost of my retreat, Saturday breakfast buffet was included. I actually wish Sunday breakfast buffet was included as well because I am not a very big fan of continental breakfasts. Where’s the much needed morning protein in continental breakfasts?! Non existent! Anyhow, I was truly impressed! There was quite a selection. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, the biggest and tastiest sausage I have ever had, an omelette bar, tons of pastries, oatmeal, coffee, water, and juice. I think there was fruit as well, but I know I’m missing a lot! I am not a big breakfast person, but this really hit the spot and I actually still think about those sausages! Yum! So, if you ever find yourself at The Cliffs, do yourself a favor and eat at their breakfast buffet. You’ll love it!

I had rehearsal dinner for a wedding here and it was very smooth. Service — plates were being cleared on a timely matter and my water was being watched for the most part. I think they did a good job especially with such a big party. I appreciate their hard work! Food — I had steak and it was cooked a little more than I had asked for. I was expecting medium rare but I got more medium and some parts were medium well done. The sauce for the steak was pretty good though. The salad I had was refreshing and the cheesecake was delicious. My bf also had the overlooked steak but he enjoyed the meat, stating it was a good piece of meat. He ordered the mango sherbet but I guess the waiter heard him wrong and gave the crème brûlée instead. It was still good nonetheless. I really enjoyed how the restaurant was able to accommodate us with decorations we needed and also the mic/speaker for our performer. Great job resort!

This place has an amazing Sunday brunch that I’ve enjoyed many times. Today’s meal however wasn’t the the tastiest. My breakfast burger was really well done and I can only taste the char. Fries were very salted BUT the fruit was very fresh! Even though this wasn’t the best meal I give them a four because of their Sunday brunch. Please note they don’t serve lunch until 11am. So if you aren’t a breakfast person, like me, probably not the best choice. Beautiful views!
