Went to the weekday special dinner which is three courses for $ 20.00. I guess you get what you pay for. Had the crabcakes. They were over fired and almost black. The side dishes were cold, which was just rice with no flavoring and some veggies. Also tried the pork dinner which was not too bad, but again the sides dishes were blanned and cold. Salad consisted of some lettuce with a few carrots rings on top. Nothing special for sure. They gave us one roll that was cut in half and stale as well. Only one waitress for dinner time. We arrived around 5;30 and there were about six tables of people in the restaurant. Felt sorry for the girl so we did not complain too much about the meal. Had a good meal on a previous occasion on a weekend, but won’t be going back again. If their week night specials are supposed to bring in more customers, then they have certainly failed big time. Very disappointed.

The food is absolutely wonderful, and it is my favorite spot to go. I canNOT get enough of the duck! On theater nights the service may be a bit slower, but for theater goers, they will make sure you make the show on time. It’s a lovely date night, byob, and on Fridays and Saturdays you get to hear Lula sing. Love it!!!

Way overpriced meal, and we never mind paying the price for superior fare. My cobb salad was just mediocre, I think the lettuce was out of yesterday’s bag. My husband’s quesadilla was actually charred on the outside and he said it tasted burned. The ice tea was either old or too strong. The service was good, until we went to leave and then she was on the phone chatting for too long. I cannot recommend this place.

I’ve been here twice and both times it was very good. Pretty sure the people I went with would agree. The stuffed cheese rigatoni was great.

Poorly managed and understaffed, waited for over 30 minutes to be seated and for waitress to take our order. Food was okay but indifference of the staff when concerns were expressed was the real turn off. One and done, will not return.

There is a definite toss-up at this restaurant as to whether the service or the food is a the bottom of the heap! Service – we asked for bread and told there was not any left only to see other tables get bread after we sat down. She was finally able to find some bread but that required another ten minute. We waited over thirty minutes for appetizers and then another twenty minutes for dinner. Food – I have to admit that I was intrigued with Avocado Crab Fritter. The avocado was soft and juicy however the crab was so over-seasoned that it ruined what should have been an excellent appetizer. The same thing with the Shrimp and Scallop platter – it was as if they dumped an entire bottle of hot sauce on the plate. This is one place you should skip if you are in Pitman!

I’ve been to Sweet Lula’s so many times over the years that I can’t count. I used to love it when they were open for breakfast. It was a lovely atmosphere and usually quite crowded. The wait staff was very prompt and service was quite quick. Unfortunately, one day without notice… Breakfast service was cancelled… And they forgot to tell the customers. I was sad but I moved on… The service here is spotty. The food is about what I can cook at home… No better no worse. The prices are too much for the quality of what one gets served. I’d rather go to TERRANOVA on Delsea Drive for the prices Sweet Lula charges. I’m not of fan of all the miss matched thrift shop furniture… Or for that matter sitting on old cushions. If you like to watch old black and white movies while you’re eating this is you place. WARNING: maybe MAnagement should clean the outdoor décor that’s hanging above and is full of dusT BEFORE they seat patrons under it. DISGUSTING especially when trying to eat.

Went to Sweet Lulas Sat night before Miss Saigon show. Got there at 6:20 but barely made the 8:00 show with no time for dessert. Caesar salad took about a half hour to come out and had probably been made 20 minutes prior as the lettuce was quite soggy with the dressing. Ordered the Dakota’s Surf and Turf with the Filet Mignon medium and it was practically bleeding it was so rare. Was half way finished the steak when the waitress stopped by and offered to take it back but at this point it was getting late and I just finished it. Will not be back.

Sweet Lula’s is a taste of the big city in a small town. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is classy retro. My personal favorite dinner is the pork tenderloin. The chef/owner is friendly and energetic and always wants his customers to be happy!

The best restaurant in pitman to my taste. Arrive very early on show nights(eg 530) Don’t go on singing nights if you want to talk, as it is pretty loud. Personal favors are crab and avocado fritter, bassa florentine, Alaskan salmon, and lobster ravioli. Take advantage of their Tue-Wed-Thu $ 20 dinner special.

Went to Sweet Lula’s tonight before a show at the local theater. The hostess, also the owner, was very sweet and friendly. She mentioned that her husband was the chef. The restaurant was not crowded, but took almost an hour to get our food. I ordered the crab cakes, which were mediocre. They were well done and fried. I prefer broiled with lump crab meat. I was surprised that salad did not come with the entrees, especially since most were $ 20+. My crab cakes came with vegetables and rice. The rice was bland, so I barely touched it. The vegetables were cooked well, not mushy at all. Another diner at the table ordered the duck and enjoyed it, but not so much the mashed potatoes. I was disappointed overall with the quality of the food for the price. Also, it was so loud in there, we were barely able to talk. The music was blaring and people yelling above it to each other. I found the place unique, especially with Lula singing, but the quality of the food for the price will not encourage me to return. Make sure you book at least two hours before the play since dining there takes awhile.

Love it at Sweet Lula’s! Went Friday evening for my birthday, and it was so much fun, we really didn’t want to leave. The food was excellent, as was the service and entertainment. This is now my favorite place. Thank you Lula and Anthony for a wonderful evening that I will not forget. Ed and Brock

Great food, great service, & great entertainment! Lobster Ravioli was delicious, crab cakes light and crisp, filet mignon tender and tasty. Staff & owners/chef go above & beyond to make you feel at home.

Sweet Lulas offers fresh and simple dishes at a higher than average price. The atmosphere is from a bygone era as there is always a black & white film being projected onto one of the walls, and the white décor keeps the place simple and sterile. I’ve been here twice, once for lunch with a burger that wasn’t memorable and could have been purchased at Five Guys for the same quality and half the price. My second visit was for dinner where I had a pan fried shrimp dish that again wasn’t something that I’d write in my diary but my wallet remembered.

I’m sorry to say it, but this place is a huge disappointment. i wanted this place to be great because its my hometown, but its not. it is severely overpriced. If everything was about $ 10 less, I would expect the quality I received. I have gone there about 5 times over the past 4 years and I kick myself after every time. last meal i had, the crab cakes were over cooked. the veggies were mush and omg… the singing was so inappropriately loud. the owner does have a nice voice, but I am not there to feed her ego as she parades around to all the tables with the mic. its just too much. I would rather listen to «our gang» that’s being projected on the wall. My party couldn’t even hear each other speak. if they are going to charge those prices, they need to do better with the food. If you are used to good restaurants, you will be disappointed.

4.5 — bread was delicious; caprese salad a but pricy for three tomato slices with mozzarella cheese, but good; medium rare rib eye steak with pepper sauce was perfect(though my wife’s NY strip was a bit overcooked as another reviewer noted(hint — if you order the strip, order a shade lighter than you really want)). Service was very good. A lot of ambient noise due to the Spartan décor.

Just spent four fabulous days in Charleston South Carolina. Had amazing fresh seafood. Got off the plane in Philadelphia and I went directly to Sweet Lulas. Had the most fabulous meal. Better than anything in South Carolina or anywhere else. The food was mouthwatering. And the singing is better than anything on Broadway. If I could give six stars I would. I’ve been saturated with a happy blissfulness stomach time and time again both because of the décor and the fabulous food.

Amazing! WE have been waiting to go for months and finally we hosted a dinner party this past Friday night! The décor is «perfect» for that theatre ambiance! All the servers are gorgeous and super sweet! The owners are both there working and also their kids too! Their daughter was our server and their son was our server’s assistant! The food was so good! The beet salad was fresh! The brussel sprout appetizer was to die for! They have an artichoke appetizer that leaves you wanting more! Our whole table ordered specials of the day and no one was disappointed! There was 6 of us in the party and the bill came to only $ 250! We were pleased with everything! I really have nothing negative to say!

I’ve found it… This is one of the worst. .overpriced garbage restaurants I’ve ever been to. … I asked the waitress how the meat was she replied the best. …so…I got the surf and turf…30 dollars. …The filet was thin… about 4 or 5 tops… I tried to man oeuvre around the gristle. …The lobster came on top of some over whipped mashed potatoes. …The lobster was… or must have been frozen since 2005… it had stripes that were black. …so I sent it back. … I asked for the crab cakes on a Cajon remoulade. … Well…to steal a line from caddy shack the movie. …This was low grade dog food. …The crab cakes were. .One bite. …Push the whole plate away. …The hairy fat chef came out to find out what was the matter. …smelling. .reeking .from BO… I told him. …I should have been meaner… well…I think you’re having a bad day… where do you get your meat… He replied. .philly…This meat was from a shop rite … Do yourself a favor. …for the price. …In little pitman, Nj… go to Butcher and singer. . Low grade dog food. …The place sucks… The chef stinks. …literally. …
