Honestly, not great at all. It’s like, how can you mess up a sandwich? I ordered the pastrami sandwich. The meat was good, but everything else seemed either stale or really really bland. The service sucked even more. There was only two workers when we showed up and the line was super long, it took the girl about 10 mins just take our orders and make them. I’ll never go back since we were just hungry and happen to pass by this place. Plus the price was crazy stupid for that kind of sandwich.

The first time I had a Mr Pickles sandwich was the best, now I seem to be chasing an elusive dream, it’s still good, just not great as I remember it. Garlic sauce is a big plus, as well as the free cookie.

My husband and I were driving back from Lake Tahoe this weekend and stopped in Placerville for a quick bite to eat. The relatively new and struggling Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop caught our eye. We were hopping it was a mom-and-pop shop, but inside we were disappointed to learn that it’s a franchise. In its defense, it definitely has a mom-and-pop feel with warm and friendly service. However, the prices seem relatively high compared to competing sandwich chains(Erik’s, Quiznos, Togo’s, etc.). It was a nice gesture to throw in a cookie on the side with each sandwich — apparently a standard throughout the chain — but for those of us who don’t eat dairy or eggs, it’s a waste. All the ingredients seemed fresh and decent quality. The shredded iceberg lettuce was a disappointment — was expecting a real piece of Romaine or something dark green with some nutritional value. I didn’t try the meat or cheese, however, but they looked to be of average quality. There’s really nothing special about their sandwiches. They offer some decent brands of chips, but their drink selection is ho-hum. I’d much rather give my $ 8 to a professional deli with higher quality ingredients. Even Quiznos or Togo’s delivers more for your money. P. S. The bathroom sink was disgustingly dirty, which was a real turnoff before I ate.
