Red Robin, Yum indeed. I’ve had a wide variety of experiences at this Plainfield RR, but they’ve typically been positive. Here’s a quick rundown of my most recent experience at the bastille of burgers. Atmosphere: Crowded. If you’re looking for quick seating and average noise level, Sundays are not your day. We waited 25 minutes for a table for 2. When we were seated, our table was so close to our neighbors that I could hear the guy next to me think. Food: Delicious, Juicy, warmth filled burgers. I got the Whiskey River BBQ burger and thoroughly enjoyed the sweet sauce, and onion straws that topped my medium-cooked burger. The endless fries are good enough, but in my opinion should only be eaten if they’re choking in seasoning. Service: Friendly, but awkward. During our Sunday lunch, a crew came out to sing to a neighboring table. What they soon realized is that I had brought my sleeping baby and placed her in a swing. The Robiners filed alongside the table and I interrupted their approach, asking them if they could wait for me to leave. Awkwardly they obliged in an «oh yeah, I didn’t think about the fact that I’m about to yell and clap while sitting on top of an infant» sort of way. They were kind in that they waited until I left the room to sing. Unfortunately, they didn’t warn the people seated directly next to us about their vocal ensemble, who also had a sleeping baby(in their defense, I didn’t warn that mom either). Overall, I’m a fan of RR. The service is unpredictable(sometimes it rocks, sometimes you wonder if your server has left for the day), but the food is consistently yumtastic.
