The best garlic Parmesan wings ever! Love that you can byob but should offer real wine glasses. The sausage panini was good although it was a bit soggy on the bottom and not really grilled“‘as a regular panini should be. Sweet potato fries should be served with some type of dipping sauce. All in all it was pretty could. Would go back again and try the pizza for sure

I get so much free pizza at school that it’s rare for me to get excited about it, but I really enjoyed the top-notch takeout pizza I had from this place when I was treated to it by a friend. Their crust was super-thin, but still had that perfect bit of chew. The toppings were plentiful and the sauce mild, yielding an overall A+ pizza. My boyfriend’s roommates, who are pizza conoisseurs, swear by this place, and it’s easy to see why. They’d get a full five stars if they were a bit cheaper. Having grown up in the area, I know that good, affordable pizza places are a dime a dozen, so this is still a bit of a splurge for me. I would eagerly order again from this place in the future though.

Found plastic in my pizza! Called the owner and he straight up called me a liar even after I brought the 2 inch piece of plastic back to him the next day. Said he makes the pizza and there’s no way he could make a mistake. Contaminated pizza and a terrible attitude are not worth your time!

Went to Vero with a coworker and order 2 pizzas and we ended up throwing it out it has no flavor. I figured everyone has an off day, I love the wings they are usually large and crispy nicely done I ordered the chicken wings today and it was very disappointing the wings were half the size and soggy. I don’t know what has changed but I won’t be going back

Went here as a result of a family friends saying this place was voted best of Hartford. Have no idea about the legitimacy of that claim, just what I was told. So went here with the whole family(6.5 of us). Service: EXTREMELYSLOW! we sat with the menus in front of us for 15 minutes before the server even came to us. And oddly enough she asked for our food order, she still hadn’t asked us for drinks. So AFTER we placed our food order we told her«we’d also like xyz to drink»… Shouldnt happen at any restaurant, that’s restaurant server 101. Refills for drinks were like pulling teeth, and not once did the server come and ask if we needed anything else or if everything was good. Food: idk about best in area. But definitely good pizza. Reminds me of a Luna pizza of sorts. Thin crust brick oven style. Not bad. I also got calamari which came with fried jalapeños and salsa. Not bad either. Try it out, just go on a slow night

If I had to sum up the pizza I had in one word, it would be: «mild». Half bacon and onion, half sausage and peppers is what I often order at an unfamiliar pizzeria; I figure those toppings are good chances for the place to shine. Here, nothing in particular stood out — odd for what should be a set of robust flavors. The crumbled bacon was serviceable but not noticeable, and the thin tangles of red onion, while photogenic, didn’t add very much. The sausage was a thinly-shaved variety, with a taste that was almost imperceptible compared to the thick pieces of fresh bell pepper. The crust had a nice medium thickness, and a good chew, but beyond that, it, like the cheese and sauce, didn’t have much to distinguish it. That plus the unimpressive toppings added up to a quiet, forgettable pizza. Based on some of the other reviews, it seems like I might have had a better experience with one of their specialty pies… but if that’s true, then it’s not entirely a positive, because equal effort should be made with the regular stuff. I really wanted to rate Vero higher. The service was certainly friendly, and if the pizza had matched that, I imagine I’d be making a solid recommendation.

They have amazing pizza and desserts! Even my gram, who is so picky says this is her«favorite pizza!»! We come almost every time I am home in CT. Would highly recommend this place for take in or order out! I think they just started delivery(with a fee) as well!

I have only come here for take out to order their Nutella Pizza. Can’t really get that anywhere else around here. Nutella, sliced bananas, seasonal berries, marshmallows, and powdered sugar. Ordering on the phone and the wait time were both not a problem. The problem was the pizza. It was soggy, wet from all the moisture from the fruit, and there was way too much powdered sugar. The size small pizza was a rip off for 12 dollars. And when I came in to pick up my pizza, I saw only highschool looking aged workers and they were goofing around in the back but I will assume that they made my pizza.

First if all, this is a review on a takeout order since we did not dine there. Maybe the food doesn’t travel or sit well if you don’t have it in the restaurant. The two star rating assumes it could be better if you actually had everything at the restaurant. I love thin crust pizza but I wasn’t that impressed with this place. I also wouldn’t consider it thin crust. We ordered garlic parm wings and bruschetta. The wings are tasty but I did not like the bruschetta at all. It was too much bread proportional to the tomatoes. The bread was also soggy but that’s probably because it was sitting for a while. We also tried several pizzas, Citrio chicken, a Toscana with prosciutto, a simple margarita pie and Sofia’s pesto pie. The slices were giant and heavy with toppings. I personally felt everything was too salty and didn’t like any of the flavors. On top of that, it was crazy expensive for pizza. My opinion, not worth it.

Attractively designed Italian café. The play Smooth jazz and the smell inside is of sweet tomatoes. The smell makes you incredibly hungry! I ordered a grilled chicken salad. Very good! My coworkers and I were having a pleasant conversation with the proprietor about their history and we got a free half pie of pizza! How awesome is that.. Damn my low carb day is ruined :\

YUM!!! The garlic parm wings are AWESOME!!! Such a strong, garlic flavor that I love — finger licking good. Pizza is great, love how crispy and cheesey it is. Small space though, was touching elbows with people next to me. BYOB and a package store next door. If you’re looking for decent pizza and a yummy wings– go to Vero!

So good! This pizza reminds me of New York and new haven pizza. A little pricy but deff better than the Greek style pizza that’s around.

Small joint, BYOB is neat, wait staff is average, little pricey. We ordered a small half pepperoni half hamburg, $ 17 for a split, was good, and the small was about the size of a standard medium. Crust was thin and crisp, not doughy at all. Good cheese to sauce ratio, solid amount of pepperoni and hamburg. Only downside was it was soupy and greasy. Would recommend it to someone looking for a good place for a pie.

My wife and I could not makeup our minds whether to try the white clam or a rustica pizza on this visit so we asked to have them make it ½ and ½. The white clam included garlic, bacon, pecorino romano and EVOO. It was good, but offered very little, to any, of the fresh briny flavor you would expect from a clam pizza from New Haven primarily because of the quantity of cheese(too much), and, most likely, token amount of canned clams. More successful was the rustica which included artichoke, pancetta, mushrooms and basil. Outside the missed step with the clams, all the remaining ingredients were fresh flavored and of impeccable quality.

Delicious. This area has a few amazing pizza options and Vero is clearly high on that list. Fresh ingredients, well balanced flavors and a tasty thin crust. Mario is a very talented pizza veteran.

Found myself back here once again for another great pie! Gotta love it when the pizza is so big, it has to be folded over to fit in the box, definitely not stingy in this place. Great ingredients including a cheese that performs and tastes like no other. Hamburg and peppers were great. This place puts a lot of places to shame!!! Looking for a reason to go back.

Vero is one of the BEST pizza joints in the Central CT area. My fiancé and I went for dinner on a Friday night. The ambiance was relaxed and casual but also lively, as it was a fairly busy night. We got the bruschetta appetizer which was super flavorful… we both loved it. Then we split a 14″ pizza which was plenty for two people. His half was citrio(white pizza, marinated lemon chicken, basil, spinach, garlic, ricotta) and my half was vegetale(I ordered it without cheese, and substituted broccoli for the yellow squash). The pizza was phenomenal! I can’t believe we’ve lived in central CT for two years and we JUST discovered this place! We will definitely be back soon. My only wish is that Vero would add a smaller, personal-sized pizza to their menu. They currently offer a 14″ or an 18″ inch which is fine if two people are splitting a pizza. However, it would be nice to have the option of ordering a personal sized pizza.

Thanks to an introducing promo code on Amazon Local, I got a $ 20 voucher for free! Lucky for Jason and me, Vero Pizza was not too far and had wonderful reviews online. The pizzas were as good as they looked in the photos. Our pie was half-Calms and Bacon and half-Vegetale. Though I wanted the Vegetale, I liked the calm side better. The star of the meal, surprisingly, were the chicken wings which were recommended by our sweet waitress. Each wing was huge, perfectly breaded, and had plenty of white meat on the bone. Mmm mmm good! Even better was the fact they were BYOB and a liquor store was next door. Vero’s provided the wine and there was no corkage fee. No wonder it was busy at 8 p.m. on a Friday night! I would ranked this place in the top 5 pizza places of Central Connecticut.

The thumbs up, then the thumbs down: Thumbs up: The salad was fresh and the very thin crust pizza was tasty. The 14″ small pizza was quite large for a small. BYOB policy. Well balanced menu offerings. Thumbs down: Pizza crust was slightly soggy and the price for the meal was high. $ 31(not incl tip) for(1) large salad,(1) diet coke, &(1) small pizza with(3) added toppings seems a bit higher($ 5-$ 7) than other places we eat at. Might go back on occasion but it won’t be a regular.

Plainville absolutely has no decent pizza places! Most of the pizza in the area is Greek style with crappy cheese that gives lactose sensitive individuals major gas! I had a lunch date with my little sister. Just a heads up I can eat pizza every single day of the week but I can’t afford Harry’s every single day. Vero Pizza is a great alternative and given what the competition in the area has to offer this place is fantastic in my book! I started off with the Rustica which is a pie made up with yummy artichoke hearts, fresh basil and bacon! After once slice I was totally impressed! The crust was perfect, it was nice and crunchy but not so hard that it will break your jaw. The small was a nice size too! The small will feed two without an issue. My little sister had a ham pannini. You have a choice of sweet potato fries or salad! The nice thing about the pannini was that the lettuce was actually field greens not ice berg. I looked over to the table to my side and noticed that their burgers came with Romaine lettuce! Yay score for them! My Nutella pie was amazing but definitely HUGE for two people. It was nice but way too much for one sitting. I would recommend holding off on the Nutella pie unless you’re dining with a party of 4 and up. I never knew how nice melted Nutella on pizza dough would taste! It’s heavenly! Next time I go in I’ll ask them to make my pie with half of the fruit because I felt it got too wet and soggy. Service was attentive and forgiving! I was an annoying customer and charged my phone at the table. My glass was filled to the top. She catered to our every need and timed our meal out well! Price wise this place was a score! If I was on a budget I would be happy to drop by for a $ 10 meal here! They do sell pizza by the slice. Nice atmosphere! Clean dishes and silverware!
