18|8 Fine Men’s Salon – Plano

Owner has commented below. The point I was trying to make is that it’s unacceptable to have an a-​frame sign out, «accepting walkins» then turning them down two hours BEFORE close. If you go into a restaurant 10 minutes before it closes, yes it may be annoying, but they will serve you.
«I’m not going to apologize for being busy…» I peeked behind the partisan, while the receptionist went back to her cell phone… there were two stylists, and plenty of empty chairs. Maybe as an owner, the best way to deal with a complaint like this is … «I’m sorry about that, we are currently understaffed and looking for more stylists at the moment (even if it’s a lie.)»
Why are you blaming me? I wanted to give you business.
«I’m not going to apologize for being busy?» um. as if this shop is so exclusive… um the line at Taco Bell at 2am is always busy, but it doesn’t mean that it’s going to be the best quality chalupa.

I’m glad I gave this spot a chance. I was already 0 – 2 at other locations and thought, ah what the heck. If you truly care about your hair, then I’d recommend you come see Kaitlyn. I shown her a pic of previous cuts I had in Cali (I’m serious about my hair) and did a great job of duplicating it. Finally, got a proper taper, shaved sides and looking 100%.
Aside from the cut, you also get a nice neck massage which was a nice surprise. I had a tough day so this was just what I needed. They shampoo your hair and the conversation was good.
This is more than a cut, it’s an experience. Ask for Kaitlyn and let her know Tony sent you, I get a free cut if you do!

Best cut ever! Hands-​down favorite Stylists.
I couldn’t asked for a better Stylist than Gerardo. I waited to write my thoughts until my fourth visit. I was overly ecstatic from my first cut with Gerardo. My hair gets better after every visit. I am amazed.
Some of my favorite pampering and spa treatments are the free local craft beer of the day; hot towel over my face and around my neck; a neck, shoulders and temples massage. A nice head massage while shampooing would be over the top cool. But I am not complaining.
I highly recommend scheduling after a long week. Best way to wind down after a hard day at work.

Boyfriend had a horrific experience at a salon near SMU, so I took him here because of the good reviews. When I first walked by, I saw an excellent sign featuring Christopher Walken that said, «Walken’s Welcome». I knew a salon with such great taste in jokes couldn’t possibly steer us wrong! They took his sad, chopped up, multi-​dimensional bowl-​cut and transformed it into a handsome do. Fantastic service, free beer, nice ladies who are great to talk with, shampoo and massage; sign me up, I wish they did women’s hair! My boyfriend entered a sad man with a freakish haircut and left confident with a happy bounce in his step. Thanks 18|8, you are not only a master of puns, but a master of sheers as well. I guess you could say we’re sheerly grateful for everything you’ve done.

Kaitlyn provided me with the best experience I believe I’ve had in some time with a hair appointment. I’ve found my new permanent place to go! Very hospitable staff, love the drinks offered to you while you wait.

Awesome service as soon as you walk in they ask if you would like a refreshment (Beer, coffee, water, or a soda) Stations are a little more private, not your typical lined up barber shop. Great music and very comfortable atmosphere along with comfy seats. They offer robes so as to not get any hair on you which is nice. They take their time and don’t just rush you in and out. You also get a shampoo before and after your cut along with a hot towel. Overall, a great experience all done in one station with no moving required.
Kaitlynn did a wonderful job, she’s very detailed and patient. Go to her and you definitely won’t be disappointed. Just sit back and let her work her magic.

Great service. Normally go to Luckys on Preston Rd but last weekend they had no slots open on Saturday and I had to get a beard trim and haircut.
I enjoyed the process and the result. Price is reasonable.
Not sure if I’ll switch from Luckys but will not count it out.

One of the best cuts I have had. Expensive, but they have specials and «club» that cuts the cost. Nice atmosphere and well trained staff.

I love this salon. Owner keeps a local micro-​brew on tap, which changes periodically. You are offered a robe to replace your shirt so its not full of hair when you leave. Rachel is very welcoming and professional. From my first haircut my wife loved the look and compliments it each time I go back. With hot towels on your face and great neck and shoulder massages, its hard to get out of the chair once you’re done. An added plus, no twangy country music or cranked up rock, a very relaxing atmosphere.

You get what you pay for. Rachel is a fantastic stylist and she knows how to take care of you. I really feel cared for when I walk in the door. How many places serve you beer while you get your hair cut?

I joined the membership program last year at ¹⁸⁄₈ and couldn’t be happier with my decision. Nicole has been a blessing and I won’t even think about going to any other place. Thanks Nicole for being a rock star! Keep up the outstanding work!

Had my first appointment with Nicole yesterday. I was very impressed. I moved from Austin several months ago and have been desperately searching for a good haircut. She is very personable and pays attention to detail. Their goal here is not to do a 5 minute buzz cut and rush you out the door. I highly recommend 18 – 8 and Nicole.

This place is hard to beat. Because of some terrifying haircuts I’ve received in the past, I’m always a little weary to try new places. I’m the kind of guy that once I find a stylist I like, I’ll stick with them as long as our situational relationship can last. I’m excited I’ve found Rachel. Go to her and you won’t be disappointed. She gave me the best haircut I’ve had in a long time. Sit back and enjoy a cold draft beer and let her take care of the rest.

$ 39 and stylist spent an hour cutting my husbands hair. Looked good and was shaped well. Shampoo before and after cut. Hot towel treatment, neck massage. The stations are semi private– not lined up like a traditional barber shop. Coffee, beer, soda, and water on hand. Tried to schedule his next appointment for 4 weeks but said no bc he goes longer between haircuts. Easy to park right outside.

A great step up from your typical men’s haircut. Women have their salons, here’s a place for us!

I went to 18|8 for a shave. When I first walked in the receptionist was very generous and offered me a choice of a beer, coffee, or from a selection of soft drinks. It was still in the work day so I had a coffee which was just right for my afternoon. They to me immediately and the experience was perfect. They think of everything for your comfort! I changed into one of their shirt/​robes which was nice so that the collar of my dress shirt didn’t get wrinkled or wet during the shaving process. They have a private dressing room that offered Q-​tips, Kleenex, AXE body spray, a lint roller and a place to hang your shirt. I was sat in a luxurious leather seat that was so comfortable. Aaron was VERY knowledgeable on the correct etiquette of giving a proper shave. He is a perfectionist with a steady hand that makes you feel relaxed. He is pleasant to talk to and informative on the correct form of shaving. One of the things I like most about 18|8 is the layout of the salon. The stations are configured in a way that gives you privacy. It’s not like the standard old barber shop that has the chairs all in a line shoulder to shoulder on both sides which makes me uncomfortable personally… Over all, I am very impressed with this men’s salon and look forward to it’s future here in Plano! First Impression: Clean, Friendly, SPACIOUS, Laid Back, and High-​End. They cut no corners on equipment. Loved the experience!

Great place! Was very impressed as soon as I walked in the door. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. I was offered a cold beer (Texas Blond on tap!) they also have cold drinks and gourmet coffee. There are robes to put on so no hair gets all over your clothes, great if your stopping in on lunch. I was introduced to Aaron, he did an incredible job. Coming from someone who had one person cut their hair for the last 14 years. It is far more than your standard hair cut, it is an experience. Shampoo, hot shave, head massage… etc, he took his time and made sure everything was perfect. The chairs are extremely comfortable and set in more private arrangement. Everything is done at the same seat, no walking around with towels wrapped around you. I highly recommend you treat your self I will defiantly be going back.
