We tried this place for the first time and won’t be back. my wife and I liked the salads but the meat portion and the set up and pretty bad. The 12 year old(literally a family member or something) that was the cashier was sweet but didn’t explain anything and at a buffet when we are obviously new it would have been useful. So we got the cedar specials and picked our meat. I liked the selection of salads and vegetables. If I was rating food alone I would give this place a 5 star. The problem was everything else. The kabob when it came out was less than 4oz of beef. I had to flag down a waitress for the drink I had paid for with my meal. I got refilled the wrong drink(I am diabetic and this was a bigger deal than I just didn’t like it). Then the second trip to the salad bar they were out of pita bread. Not ok when that’s what makes a Greek salad bar. Ok so we got our fill and went back to top off with the delicious looking baklava and they wanted to charge by the piece. This place has good food but in the long run it is a set up to try to get 30 bucks a person out of you without just being upfront and charging that or actually worrying about service. Good food-bad service and set up.

This restaurant is exceptional. The atmosphere is so beautiful and elegant with beautiful music playing in the background. They have fresh flowers at each table and fresh flowers everywhere throughout the restaurant. They have a large array of healthful food to choose from. They also have the large array of meats to choose from. Everything is clearly made on a daily basis so fresh and so tasty. The only thing wrong, was the Tabouli had way too much lemon. Other than that, AWESOMEPLACE!

Disappointed. Third time here. Service decreased with each visit. Food seemed to have been out since lunch, even the bread. The meat was dry, overcooked and tasted like liver. Service was nonexistant. I don’t think we will be back. Giving it 2 stars only because they refunded the meat portion.

Very reasonable prices, in fact kids seem to eat for free! Fantastic vegetarian buffet and you can add all the freshly grilled meat and seafood you like. Great Mediterranean dessert selection too. Love this place, it’s just a casual relaxed place for fresh food, done well! Go try it!

I saw this place a few times passing by but the 3.5 rating made me hesitate to try it. We were in a rush one Saturday night so took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. We had the Cedars Special which includes the AYCE vegetarian buffet with one meat choice: beef, chicken, lamb or salmon. We tried everything but the lamb and they were all great. The salad bar was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the roasted cauliflower, potatoes and eggplant dish with tomato sauce. The pita breads were fresh and fluffy too. Definitely returning again.

The food is excellent here, but the service is terrible. Luckily you only deal with them at the register. I’ve been here several times where the owner is very laid back and wants to make your experience fun. Unfortunately, his employees are not trained at all. Apparently, the Cedars Special that comes with 1 meat has only certain meats you can get. That is not advertised anywhere. I’ve wanted Flafel or Kibbe before and have been granted this request by the owner often. Any other employee says it’s not on their«computer menu» to select. So they won’t give it to you or make you pay the additional money. It’s the little things to make your guest happy. If I’m paying the for the most expensive item on your menu what difference does it make what kind of meat I want? Hope they learn that pleasing your guest is the most important thing to keep a business running.

If you’re a vegetarian/vegan then this place is the closest thing to mediterranean heaven. They also have meat options(for extra) but there’s a huge variety of food. The service was great. They were consistent with refreshing our drinks and asking us how the meals were. Only downside was that you have to pay extra for dessert. There aren’t any dessert options on the buffet. Other than that I would absolutely recommend.

My company came here for Christmas lunch and it was absolutely a good spot for Mediterranean food lover and vegetarians! They have a huge AYCE salad bar and many other vegetarian options such as eggplants, mushroom and zucchini, pita bread and hummus, etc. Me and my coworker ordered the lunch special which is unlimited salad bar + a meat entrée. For the meat entrees we shared the beef kebabs and lamb kebabs. They both come with a side of rice and white dipping sauce. The beef kebabs was more flavorful and tasty than the lamb. The rice was so delicious! I don’t know what kind of ingredients they added in the rice but it was sooo good! I also got the mint lemonade which was so refreshing and satisfying! This place definitely met my expectation and I will be back!

Went here with my BF and his friends recently. I was definitely surprised by this place, in a good way. I love Mediterranean food and when I stepped into this place, it seemed very simple and I was worried it wouldn’t be as authentic. To my delight, it was anything but that. I ordered the Persian lamb kabobs and opted for the all you can eat salad bar. You can do the AYCE option or get the platter. You get a number and place it on your table so they can bring out the kabobs/drinks to you and serve yourself for the AYCE buffet. There were so many options to choose from. I loved the seasoned potatoes and hummus. As well as the flatbread with zatar. The lamb kabobs came out relatively quick. I was very impressed with these. Served on a skewer and a bed of rice. Succulent, soft and tasty. My BF ordered the salmon which was really good too. Also, they bring out fresh pita bread for you if there isn’t any at the buffet and it is fluffy and warm. I made a pita sandwich with the kabobs and hummus. We also got the baklava which was good but super sweet! As for a drink, I ordered the mint lemonade which was yummy. I’ll definitely be coming back when I’m in town again and next time I’d also like to try the truffle fries.

If you come here, come for the vegetarian buffet. Otherwise, I’d recommend you go a little further down 121 to Fadi’s. I was about to order Chicken Shawarma when I realized that Cedar’s only offers Shawarma in platters. So I ended up just ordering a pita sandwich with chicken and was sorely disappointed. The sandwich consisted of a lump of dry chicken that tasted more like barbecue than anything authentic, and a few pickles. The service was slow as well. I don’t think I’ll be coming out here again, as I’d rather drive a few more minutes down the street to go to Fadi’s.

Cedars food is amazing! Everything has always been so fresh and healthy tasting, and I always get so full! This has been my preferred Mediterranean restaurant since they opened. The«salad» bar is an amazing value and has so much more than salads. I love all the different varieties hummus, like the spicy and spinach. This restaurant has a lot of room and tables and is great for bringing large company groups and big families. You have to try this place, and the baklava made on site is AMAZING!

The buffet was simply outrageous, with classic Mediterranean dishes and interesting twists on Italian/Greek/Lebanese/Persian/Turkish sides. The various proteins are only three extra dollars and served in generous skewered portions. In my humble opinion, their babaganoush was the best in Dallas. I don’t like sweets, but their bakery had several items I would bring to a dinner party to impress my host. There was so much variety that only a toddler couldn’t find something they liked.

As someone who has been to many a Mediterranean restaurant, particularly buffets, I can say that this is one of the best. While somewhat expensive by buffet standards, the quality of food makes the price worth it. Unlikely most buffets, if you order a meat, it is brought out to the table, however, the portions were quite large. If looking for Mediterranean, this is certainly better than Dimassi’s and for my taste, better than Fadi’s as well.

Best conversion of a former Luby’s Cafeteria location EVER! I’ve visited the Walnut Hill location of Cedars on several occasions, and I love their food. When I saw that this location had opened, and just a few miles from my new office, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. With the disclaimer that my meal was a «to go» buffet as opposed to dine-in, here’s how the visit went down: I selected the lamb shawarma(gyro meat) and a to-go salad bar(that’s the vegetable portion of the meal, way more than just«salad»); this is how you construct the dining in experience to go. You’re given a clamshell to fill from the salad bar to your heart’s(or wallet’s) content at $ 5.99/lb. They’ll give you a sack for a pita bread that doesn’t count towards your total, so take advantage of that. I forget what I ended up with weight wise, but my total with meat and salad bar was under $ 15, which is what I usually spend on a Mediterranean buffet at other places. Digging in back at the office, I found the shawarma to be delicious, with a pronounced lamb flavor, yet not at all gamey. The supplied sauces included harissa(red pepper sauce) and a spicy, seemingly aioli kind of thing that was creamy and delicious. I ended up using these in lieu of my usual tzaziki to construct a gyro; the result was a meaty, spicy, creamy delight, with the meat having a great texture and the pita was very fresh. Moving on to the vegetable course, the marinated eggplant was a favorite at Walnut Hill, and it was spot on here as well. Generous slices, great flavor and mouth feel, these planks of goodness were simply awesome. I also selected roasted carrots, squash and, of course, the ever-awesome fried cauliflower. Oh, how I love that dish. Deep brown florets, cut large, they were seasoned just right and not overly greasy. The baba ganoushe was smoky and delicious, as was a carrot and walnut hummus type dip. I rounded out the vegetable course with some sauteed mushrooms, which, like everything else, were fantastic. Best of all, this was enough food for me to make three entire meals! This was a super value for the money, in addition to being delicious food. Definitely give this place a try if you’re looking for Mediterranean, they really bring the goods.

As we entered, customers who were leaving made a point to stop by the front just to say how great their dinner was. Katya, one of the hard working owners, accepted their compliments with grace while smoothly multitasking to handle a payment, greet new guests, and answer a question from the staff. I enjoyed the items in the salad bar/buffet so much that I would return just for the sides. Notable items: amazing pomegranate and eggplant dip, smokey babaganush, green humus(spinach?), potatoes, zucchini with mushrooms, perfect cauliflower. Between my husband and kids, we tried the chicken kabob, steak kabob, and the ground beef/lamb kabob(listed in order of preference). The chicken was especially good — perfectly seasoned, moist, and flavorful. We finished it off with a small selection of desserts. Classic baklava was good. The white cookies with walnut inside were our favorite — they had a delightful lavender flavor. We will definitely return. Next time, we’ll bring a bottle of wine(BYOB).

I love the Walnut Hill location so much and was so excited to go to this location when it opened as it is much closer to home. Unfortunately the quality isn’t the same as the original location. The salads, dips, and hot items are all fresh. But i am so disappointed that they don’t have hot, fresh pita! The pita is just laying there… usually cold and hard. So I tried the pita chips and those are burnt! At least the meats are also cooked perfectly and come out hot. I hope they can take the time to serve fresh pita. It would make all the difference.

Wow. I don’t want to jump the gun here but my first experience tonight was fantastic. I had been waiting for this place to open up, and sometimes it can be a letdown. Not the case with this restaurant! They have a vegetarian buffet, and a meat option you can choose to go wth it for extra. I’m not a big veggie eater but man did this hit the spot. Big selection, excellent bread and soup and plenty of salad and veggies. Very healthy and delicious stuff! The wait staff also went out of their way to refill water and check on my experience. Hopefully will be a new favorite spot.
