I had to give this spot 4 because we had great service, which typically in the Asian cuisine genre with the exception of a few places is pretty bad. We ordered short ribs, seafood pancake, udon fish soup and steamed dumplings. I really liked the pancake, I would recommend it’s not greasy like others I’ve had. The short ribs had a little too much fat but overall dishes were good.

I’ve been there twice the first time that we been there there were no tables available they did not have any dishes on them. The worst part of it was that the waitress was sitting at a table that was kind of clean review newspaper watching us. So you tell me came in the food was alright in the sides were kind of mediocre. I expect a lot more from a restaurant that serves soft tofu soup’s because they’re really not that hard to make.

This is a pretty mediocre Korean restaurant in the Ranch 99 strip center. Not much to say. It looks like a cafeteria on the inside save for the wood paneling on the walls and flowery wallpaper. The food was thoroughly mediocre and thoroughly overpriced for what you get. See the photos for the food here on the Unilocal page? See those little appetizer trays? The amount I got on each one wasn’t even half of that. The soup I got tasted like a whole lot of nothing, save for the handful of sad slivers of beef floating around. You can catch flies with honey, but you catch more honeys being fly. What I mean by that is, you can always make money as a business serving a quality product, but you won’t always make money by cutting corners as a business.(As customers, we know, and we see what you’re doing.) Save your money and go to Da Won on Custer. You won’t regret it.

Food was decent for the price, but what left a stump on this review was when the owner kept demanding to leave a larger tip. The tip amount was at least 20%, but she demanded more before returning my credit card. After arguing and then threatening to get police involved, she reluctantly handed my card back. I don’t think that was technically legal for what she did, but I’m definitely not coming back there.

The name is incredibly misleading as one reviewer had already mentioned. With a name like«Mr. Tofu» I expect more than 3 vegetarian options. When I was greeted, «take out?».When I said I was planning on eating in, if it wasn’t too much of a problem I was seated at THEONLYDIRTYTABLE in a room full of clean empty ones. I ordered the #34 bi-bim-bab with no beef. For only $ 7.99 I’d say it was edible, but hardly. It’s like a cold salad over rice with szachewan sauce.

Galbi not dry/charred /grilled enough so most fat were still there. Quality on par with Jin mi, but pricier than Jin mi. The tofu soup/seafood one is pretty good… but very little actual seafood. I think I like Chang Jing better.

I really wanted to like it. But I couldn’t. The tofu soup was bland, the Kal-bi was too thick. But the service was good. My quest to find a good tofu house still going…

Ok first off I’m a vegetarian so was VERY excited to eat here… was VERY let down with the actual tofu or vegetarian options. However what I had was really good, I had the veggie pancake and bi-bim-bab with no beef. The service was good and food came really fast. So besides the name being misleading it wasn’t bad!

The lady who works here is very sweet, although she can be slow at times. The food are okay. Sometimes the food you get doesn’t always come out as it looks in the menu

Korean food is unchartered territory for me(though ironically 99.9% of people think I look Korean), so I didn’t know what to expect upon entering this place. Oh. My. Goodness. I was baptized by Mr. Tofu and will forever be coming back here. The sides are simply delicious, free, and UNLIMITED. I ordered the fish soup thing and it was heaven. Service is good too; the people working here are really friendly and prompt. I dream of Mr. Tofu. I long for Mr. Tofu. No other Korean restaurant(I’ve tried about 3 since my initial encounter with Mr. Tofu) seems to come close to Mr. Tofu! I wish they had a place in Dallas though. Plano is a little too far for me. :(

Back again for round 2. This time we came for lunch and I tried the spicy chicken lunch box. Side dishes tasted awful, I think the pickled cucumbers and the potatoes were the only decent side dishes. I have had much much better. Spicy chicken was nothing spectacular, should’ve gotten the spicy pork bulgolgi. Very disappointed with my experience :(I don’t think I will be coming back.

Mmm mmm mm Korean food :) I was craving some Korean so me & my guy decided to head here. His mom and uncle(who are both Korean) recommend this place and it didn’t disappoint. The woman who took our orders and delivered our food was so sweet! She made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the bul go gi and codfish soup while bf got some noodle dish, who name escapes me(some funky Korean name). They give you a shit-ton of little starters(deeeeelish kimchi! I’m a fanatic!) for you to work on before your meal. Then the main dishes came out. Bul go gi was fantastic and my codfish soup was piping hot an full of exotic flavors. We got full before we had the chance to finish everything. Overall I loved the experience being at a REAL Korean restaurant with REAL Korean people instead of some bs Americanized place. We’ll be back for sure.

The entrée taste pretty good. The sides are a little disappointed, not as delicious as some other Korean restaurants. For the price, I’m not going to complain. The service is great. We were taught how to serve some of the food. It was fast.

Dear Mr Tofu, First of all, its strange how the tofu soup is $ 4.99 if you dine in but $ 7.99 if you make it to-go??? Also Kimchi Tofu soup is one of the ideal choices for tofu soup but you didn’t have it? You were kind enough to make it for me but hmmm I wasn’t too pleased. I could smell the pork and at most places the meat isn’t cut up so huge like ssam gyup ssal! I understand its something that’s not on the menu but its like one of the main choices… It seems your business is not doing so great but I can tell you why. Your side dishes are horrible! They look so old and wrinkly probably because it was sitting out for so long? If I were you I would change the quality of the food cause you’ve got competition right up the street. –Legacy– p. s. The phone number on here is wrong I requested it to be changed

This place is not bad at all. but I have to admit the wallpaper is pretty outdated. Im sure the place is family owned also. There are two ladies that wait on you, and one cook. The service is good also, if your looking for a laid back enviroment then this would be your place. my favorite is the seafood pancake and Mr. Sushi soup

So the wall paper is ugly and outdated — who cares! You’re coming to eat the food and enjoy it, not to stare at the wall and think how you can redecorate the place.(Unless you’re on a date and there’s a lot of awkward moments of silence, all you can do is stare at the wall hehe) We came with a big group of friends(10 people) and we were seated right away with cups of water and silverware. Granted, this restaurant is huge and there weren’t many people — there are some places that will take their precious time in seating you down because of that fact. The lady was very nice and helped us with choosing what to order since they just opened and it was our first time there. Service was great and done with a smile, and she was very attentive with refilling our banchan plates and water cups. Also — she was all happy and excited that I was calling her«Unnie»(older sister) that she surprised us with seafood pancakes and fish for free! yum yum yum it was soo delicious. AND on top of that, 10% off our bill! :) Woohoo! See? It does pay to be nice and respectful of others, especially to those who are older than you. We all ordered different things from the tofu soup, to the beef bone soup, and the bi bim bap. Everything was really good and there was a lot of banchan dishes too — I’d have to say that this is definitely a place I’d like to come back to again to try some other stuff.(Also, prices are very decently and competitive to the other Korean restaurants around the area. I might even have to say that this is the cheapest place to get a good bowl of tofu soup!) I’m hoping this place will do well as it is conveniently located in the Ranch 99 shopping center. You can grab some lunch or dinner — and then walk it all off while shopping for your groceries. Perfect!

The décor is definitely not exhilirating or close to anything that I would have imagined to be a restaurant that JUST opened, but it’s about the food right? The service wasn’t bad; more than I expected. My boyfriend and I ordered the bulgogi bento box which was average and the bibimbop, which I’ve had better. The prices were similar to the other korean places as well. So nothing really special, but it’s close to home. The appetizer selections on the other hand were pretty good. I cleaned those out. Can I just get the appetizer side dishes and just rice? I wonder if anyone makes that sort of request.
