The good — it’s fried chicken. The bad — not a single thing stands out to make want it again. I didn’t have a bad experience as many have indicated but the chicken was bland.

This location is HORRIBLE!!! Not recommended at all!!! The location and Unilocal shows 11pm closing time and I showed up at 10:30pm. While at the drive thru, a girl is on the intercom asking what I wanted to order and I asked for just 1 min to look at the menu. When I was ready, no one answered and instead, they shut off the lights and closed the building while I was stilling at the drive-thru. Now I understand why this place is going out of business. It’s not the food, it’s the service! Plus, what type of business tells you not to go to KFC because it’s more expensive and not good, how ghetto is that!

Food is awesome! I love all of their chicken and sides! If you’re unsure of the food, get the smallest order possible. You won’t be disappointed! Very reasonable costs to KFC, Grandy’s, or Church’s.

My first ever one star review. I ordered a 6 piece hot wing at the drive through and got about a block away. Being hungry, I dug in the bag and grabbed me one. First bite was hot and tasty. Once I got to the bone the meat was cold. Not cool but COLD. I turned around and headed back to the drive through. I POLITELY told the lady what had happened and just asked for a refund. They did offere a new basket but I had lost my appetiete.(I’m wierd like that with chicken). She began to get rude telling me «It aint bloody on the inside so it must be done». I informed her that it may not be bloody but it was also not 160 degrees and more like 40 degrees. She just got really rude and I asked her why she was getting an attitude with me and of she was the new manager(sign posted on every corner stated it was under new management). She informed me that she was the old manager. THATMAKESSENSENOW! I was okay with the poorly cooked food and would not have even made a Unilocal review but the attitude was not needed from her. Good luck. Hopefully they get shut down soon and a taco casa can take their place.

Good: food was fresh and piping hot! Order was correct. Soda was about the best part. Not so good: there was a slight stench in the air when we got out in the parking lot. Not sure if it was coming from the restaurant, but still. –the building doesn’t look inviting. Was this an old Taco Bell or something? –half of the dining room is divided into two weird, glass areas with doors. We just didn’t understand it. –Chicken didn’t have much flavor, nor did the okra. My okra was tossed all around the inside of the bag. –the lifeless bread roll was not good. I took one bite and that was it. –the whole place had an odd 80’s feel to it. Reminded me of something I’d see in the movie Napoleon Dynamite. We wont be going back.

I seen Williams Chicken in passing and damn near caused a wreck trying to merge. I went inside and the place was super clean. I ordered a 6 piece and a pepper. Cooked fresh and was hot ready to eat. I love this chicken. I asked the cashier how long had they been there and she replied a little over a year. WOW! I said remember my face because I’ll be back weekly :-) She was very friendly and courteous. I can’t wait to go back! Welcome to Plano!!! #WilliamsChicken

Overall I can’t say I recommend it. Nothing really stands out about this place. The chicken is somewhat similar in taste to what you’ll find at Chicken Express, but the price is higher. You can get a combo which comes with a cold roll, a side and a drink. The inside of the restaurant is kind of odd because there’s two semiprivate rooms with some glass walls and a door. Weird for a fast food chicken place. It’s also really annoying that you can’t refill your own drinks, get your own napkins or anything. If you want anything you have to go to the registers. The employees are very friendly, and that’s the only plus to this restaurant.

Finally tried it out, probably won’t return. 18.10 for two 2pc dinners. Chicken was fatty, but skin was crispy, that was probably the best part. Mashed potatoes tasted like boxed. Coleslaw was really bad. KFC, Chicken Express, or Grandy’s is much much better.

I have been a Williams chicken fan for a long time. I was glad to see that a Plano location open. I went there 4 times and every time it was just terrible. On the 4th I got a 1 leg 1 thigh 1 breast. It was so bad i could not eat it. Look like it had been sitting a long time. I just threw it away. I want my money back… worst location Mr. Williams has. I reach out to Mr. Williams because if he knew how bad it is he would pull this owners franchise. Dan Redd

As far as fried chicken goes, it was just ok. But $ 10.01 for 3 pieces, two small sides and drink seemed high to me.

Not only is this a poor version of a Dallas institute, it’s also a poorly run restaurant. Went through the drive-thru recently and ordered 21-piece dinners, 12-piece dinner and 15-piece chicken strip dinner. There was some good, some bad and some just plain ugly: The Bad: I wasn’t told they needed to fry up a fresh batch of chicken. Instead, I was just told to pull around and wait for my order. 22 minutes later, part of the order arrived. Thankfully I ran down the order with the guy delivering it to my car and realized things were missing. I don’t mind waiting for a fresh batch of chicken, just TELLME what is happening. Clearly I had chicken leftover from the previous batch as my thigh piece was barely okay — I think it was saved from be overly dry due to the fact that it was dark meat. All of the breast pieces were VERY small and not worth the prices charged. The Good: The fried okra was perfectly breaded and seasoned. The corn fritters — holy cow these things are so good. Sweet, creamy and fried perfectly. The fresh chicken was also very good(based on the reports of those eating it). Great breading and juicy. I wish mine had been the same. The french fries were okay. standard fries. The Ugly: The breast piece I had was not only the smallest chicken breast I’ve ever seen(I could only get 3 small pieces of meat off the bone for the dogs), it was chalk-dry. I mean, inedible-dry. Shame. The corn on the cob was also very dry and tasted stale and old, as reported by its eater. Chicken strips — Much like another reviewer mentioned, these were a complete fail. Soggy breading that just peel off with barely a touch. Gross. This location seems to be a franchise of the original — it has prices higher than the other location in Dallas and the food is no where near as good. In the future, we’ll be skipping Williams in Plano.

Well, I finally made it to the new Williams Chicken on W. Parker in Plano. It is fairly close to my work and I’ve been meaning to try it for a few weeks now. I should have just driven east around the bend and picked up Taco Bell and gone inside the nearby Subway. I used the drive-through and ordered a 5-piece tender meal with Mashed Potatoes, and a side of Mac ‘n Cheese. After pulling up to the window and paying, I soon realized this was a «better turn the engine off» kind of drive-through. I think I sat in my car for 9 – 10 minutes before my food was given to me. The kid working the drive-through window was pleasant so I can’t knock him. My order was stuffed into a normal-sized, white paper sack. The roll inside the box of tenders was smashed nearly to the height of a half inch. The«skin» on the tenders resembled a tan cocktail napkin and flaked off with barely a touch. The chicken really didn’t have any taste. The mashed potatoes & gravy appeared as such but had I been blind-folded, I would not have guessed I was consuming mashed potatoes; original Cream of Wheat maybe, potatoes & gravy no. The cup of Mac ‘n Cheese was a small amount of elbow macaroni stirred in with orange Spackle. If you prefer bland & flavorless food, this is the place for you.

Shame on you, Williams Chicken at Plano. You have sullied the good name of a well-loved DFW chicken establishment and I will never, ever grace your registers with my hard earned cash again. I have no idea where these good reviews are coming from but I had my heart set on some tasty, bad-for-my-heart fried chicken, and it just didn’t happen. First things first, I am almost 100% sure this Williams is owned by someone other than the person who runs the Dallas area Williams stores… The prices are higher at the Plano location, the specials are fewer and the food was really bad. I ordered a chicken tender combo, that wasn’t on the menu in the drive-thru. The 3-strips I ordered were soggy, so there was no tasty crunch as I bit into them; so soggy in fact, that i ended up peeling the breading off and just eating the strip underneath. The fries were fine, but you don’t go to a chicken place for fries, you go there for the chicken. I’m really disappointed in this Williams and I caution everyone who can look at this review to never go there. Shoulda went to Cane’s or Golden Chick, *sigh*

So glad they opened a Williams Chicken in Plano. Needed something good as far as chicken cause Churches on Coit shut down. The chicken here was good. Got a 3 piece for me and my daughter… we tore it up.
