Arnies is an incredible restaurant! It’s like your going back in time ! I had the chicken parm and French fries as well as there lemon cake, it was all so flavorful from the frys to the chicken to that sweet delectable cake. They also give free bread that is good! The best part is that amazing Arnies sauce, they should consider selling it! It’s a bit pricey but not too bad for what you get ! Great job Arnies !

My favorite Italian restaurant in Plattsburgh. Consistently great. My favorite is the lasagna. It’s my favorite of any lasagna I’ve had. The pizza is unique and you will either love it or like it. The fried ravioli is made in house and really good. The dining room is up stairs but you can eat in the bar downstairs if you want. It’s a must try If you’re visiting Plattsburgh.

Love it. Eggplant Parmesan is a favorite. Awesome marinara sauce. Friendly staff. Visiting Plattsburgh, we came 3 times in one week! Authentic Italian.

It started off as 5, waited so long, it turned into a 4, got the appetizer and it went back to 5, then waited and waited and waited for dinner it went down to 4, the food was great! The décor reminded me of any little Italian place(mom and pop style) in Utica, Rome, Albany, NYC and made me feel great! Keeping it at a 4. They need help here. They need to hire more staff. The waitresses(whom we took good care of tip wise) bussed tables, served, seated and everything in between. But yea totally worth the stop!

Since 1951. And NOTHING has changed. At all. Not really a good thing if you’re looking for upscale Italian food. Pasta and sauce dominate the menu. It’s OK, solid«Eye-Talian» food and good for families and locals who’ve obviously been going here for generations. Hard to knock that. Just don’t go here expecting some ethereal dish from Emiglia-Romana. It’s not here. I could give it 2 stars for food. Bonus star because Arnie is still there and setting up tables.

The lasagna here was very bland, it did not taste or appear homemade. To top it off it came with what closely represented, 2 slices of Wonder Bread. I won’t be back anytime soon. Plattsburgh needs a good Italian Restaurant. Sadly, this place is is an injustice to Italians everywhere

What a marvelous place. Arnie’s staff is very congenial and food is excellent for portions. I had the fried calamari and cannelloni along with garlic bread with my date. Great food. Calamari could have been better but it was satisfactory. My other friends both had pasta dishes with garlic sauce and sausage. They said it was great tasting. We didn’t make it upstairs but the downstairs was clean, had a nice bar and cool atmosphere. I found Arnie’s to be very welcoming with good food and I would go back again.

Smelled horrible when we walked in. Huge stair case to get to upstairs dining which was not favored. Pizza was thin and ok. Best of the fine experience. I got manicotti and it was not manicotti. It was drenched in sauce that tasted horrible and I don’t know what it was. Wasn’t tomato or sauce or even marinara sauce. The cheese stuck together and was quite un appealing. The fettuccini Alfredo was very creamy but you could tell it was powdered cheese as it doesn’t dissolve. There was no garlic an it was very heavy on the cream. There French fries were the best part sadly and they weren’t that great Was very expensive for such crappy food. Oh and the bread they bring you is home made tasteless white loaf which they bring you a whole loaf and it gets wasted trust me. It’s gross and tasteless. There garlic bread is just that with garlic and it’s not worth the additional 3 $ trust me.

very good local restaurant — very good pizza with somewhat unusual, but good, crust – largely italian fare upstairs

Local establishment — American-Italian — bar downstars, restaurant on 2nd floor. Always crowded and for a good reason. Personally, I go to Mickey’s if I have the choice, but wouldn’t turn down a meal here

Great American family-style Italian. Don’t look for anything as fancy as «Vodka» sauce or «Carbonara» — just old fashioned marinara and alfredo available here. The basics — pizza, veal parm, etc. — are done with that homecooking flair that make this place a great stop in downtown Plattsburgh. Throw in the fact that it has been in business for over fifty years(clearly evidenced by the awesome non-retro décor) and you have to give it the respect it’s due.

Just to be clear, let me start by noting that Arnie’s serves American Italian food, not the kind of Italian food you’d get in Italy. It’s a family restaurant, so there are people with kids, and old people and people on dates – but it’s not chic or cosmopolitan in any way – food, décor, whatever. It is, however, a nice little restaurant, that I have enjoyed every time I’ve been there over the last thirty five years or so(I was one of those children there years ago). Arnie’s has staying power. My only complaint is that the garlic bread is not what it used to be. When lived in Plattsburgh years ago, the garlic bread came as a small loaf wrapped in foil, which kept it from drying out, and left it soft, hot, and garlic-buttery. Now, sadly, it’s a bit more like toast.

This great Italian Restaurant is a staple to Plattsburgh. Their Italian cuisine is superb and can not be out ranked in Plattsburgh. Everything Susan B. has explained is right on the mark. Prices are reasonable and service is great.
