Definitely bring cash or be CHARGED $ 1.00 for using credit/debit card! I asked the reason why and the guy said,“because my boss said so!” A rude way of putting it! His attitude was disturbing and unfriendly! I decided to dine in and order the popcorn chicken and pot stickers. The chicken was too chewy and the pot stickers were very hard! Café Tapioca will no longer get my business!!! Also, they don’t give out receipts. I never heard of that! One star for the tapioca thai tea.

Great boba. I had the Pudding Milk Tea and it was absolutely fantastic. Compared to places like Gong Cha and Quickly, the pudding at Café Tapioca is smooth and melts in your mouth. The milk tea here has great flavor and is not overly milky as boba at places like Tapioca Express or Quickly. The popcorn chicken is some of the best I’ve had in the States – they actually use white meat chicken breast and cook it until it’s just moist instead overly hard and crunchy. The one down side is that they’re cash only, which is weird because they have Square symbols prominently displayed throughout. They’re surprisingly not very busy – it’s almost always barren when I come here, but it’s definitely not one of those places where if it’s empty you should stay away!

Love their boba smoothies! I think they’re one of the best around. Their smoothie mixture is delicious and they give you a good amount of pearls!

Really good smoothies here. Better than Quickly. Also theres only a handful of flavors made with fresh fruit. So ask and get those. One of them is avocado. So awesome. Ok funny story. My 3 year old daughter was wanting ice cream, so i ordered a small scoop of vanilla for her. She was super happy and excited and thanking me. Most places would hand the cup directly to the little kid. But this dude working the counter held it back. I asked if my kid could have the ice cream but he told me that I had to pay first. Really? Im really gonna walk out without paying for a $ 3 cup of ice cream? The look on my daughters face was priceless. I then put a $ 20 on the counter as collateral and I got my kids ice cream. I hadnt yet decided what i wanted yet. Oh, and nobody else was in the store. So i wasnt holding up anyone. Sometimes you have to use the head. Oh well.

Tea is better than Kung Fu. Service is nice and efficient. I would definitely come back.

Classic bubble tea and smoothies. Honeydew is my fav. The only odd thing is that they only accept cash. I have walked in an had to leave twice now LOL. Please consider taking credit and increasing prices. Instead of a «cash only» sign, have a $ 0.30 discount for cash purchases. I never have cash on my person anymore.

*cash only* good thing I had a few extra dollars. Dont usually carry much cash. This was my first time here. I’ve read a few of the previous reviews and my customer service experience was pretty good unlike the few that was posted… maybe because I was the only one in there at 345 in the afternoon. Ordered my usual… avocado with tapioca. It was pretty good. Some places make it too sweet or too bland. Guess depends on the person making it. They have a small selection of ice cream towards the back of the café. One flavor that caught my eye and would like to try next time is the cappuccino crunch… yum! Overall, not too bad. Will have to go a few more times to see if it’ll be my go to spot for tapioca drinks.

OMG freakin horrible service! I’ve never experienced this is my life I’m dead serious. Please make some adjustments and I hope this review helps because I’m a huge milk tea fan and I really did like the drink so that’s the one star I am giving. So here’s what happened… As I walked in me being very friendly said, «Hi!». Thinking to myself okay maybe they didn’t hear me said it again… I got a really strange blank stare. So me and my friend just sat down. Awkwardly enough the two girls working went to sit and«work» on their laptops… Our order was ready and it was just the most awkward communication I’ve ever had in my life in a boba café setting… considering I use to work at one myself. Anyways, I hope they fix whatever their issue may have been that day. It was really frustrated because I had really high hopes for this place but the customer service was little to NONE! Not even a smile… ugh ok I’m done.

One of my go to spots! Pretty good selections of milk tea. Theyre pretty sweet(which I like) but not too sweet. And theyre decent priced. My faves are the good olé royal milk tea or thai tea but they have alot of great choices even in juices! I dont think ive tries their slushes yet. Their food is also ok. Parking is never usually a problem to find and they’re never super busy which I like. The only bad thing Is they only take cash which can be a hassle sometimes. And no bathroom(but theres one at cvs next door). Other than that, I give this place a thumbs up :)

I really hate places that are cash only. Like almost 100% of people within my age bracket(statistic I kinda made up), I. DO. NOT. CARRY. CASH. Therefore, robbing me would be a big hassle because I don’t really have any valuables on me, ever, and we would have to go to the bank to go get the cash, and you’d be really disappointed. And you’d be like, UGHWHYAM I RISKINGGOINGTOJAILFORTHIS? So, what I’m saying is this: going to Café Tapioca kind of borders on being a chore because I have to take out money first, BECAUSE I DON’T CARRYCASH. The drinks are satisfying, though. I had an avocado green tea smoothie with boba that was very refreshing… anddd filling. The food here is not really great, though, to be honest. I had a fried chicken something with some type of spongy baguet and it was meh. Just stick to their drinks, they’ve got plenty to choose from!

SO I came here again recently for my birthday and I was really disappointed to how poorly Café Tapioca held up to my memories. Maybe it was nostalgia? Or maybe they changed their ingredients? Or maybe I just didn’t know what good bubble tea tasted like? Regardless, I have to say that I did not much care for Café Tapioca the second time around. They still take cash only, which is a huge inconvenience, and the tea itself just isn’t all that good. It tastes musty and kind of soapy, and waaaaay too sweet. I get the feeling that the ingredients aren’t all that fresh, and that it’s probably got powder flavoring or something. Fat Straw Café and Quickly’s(both in Livermore) are MUCH better — and they take credit cards, too. Fat Straw even serves ice cream.

Decent looking place conveniently located by 99 ranch. I walked in at 9:30pm and described my usual order which is accepted at every other boba place but was returned with«We don’t do that here.» My order was going to come out to $ 5.25 for a single drink but I removed the milk pudding, which apparently costs $ 1 extra. Such a shame. The Taro milk tea with grass jelly was decent but was not filled to the top and 1⁄3 of all contents was ice. The prices are fine if you don’t like milk pudding but the service is terrible. Will not be coming back. Ever.

It is A-OK. the popcorn chicken was too home made: Cooking Oil tasted outdated. the Mango ICY needs to be improved!

Stopped here after lunch during a work day with a coworker — no line! Great little treat after lunch though. We each had $ 5 each — IT’S CASHONLY — but luckily, you can afford a regular or large drink for under $ 5. I ordered the Japanese Green Milk Tea with the green tea jelly. Delish! The green tea jelly is a little firmer than regular grass jelly but still good. My friend got the milk tea with ice cream. They usually mix the drink with vanilla ice cream, but they let my friend pick her own flavor! She chose green tea ice cream instead. Yum! They also have those $ 1 toys you can turn and get a prize. Don’t bring your quarters if you don’t want to be tempted! Would def come back for a quick drink! And maybe food next time?

Salty chicken sandwich probably killed it for me to make this worth coming back for but the grapefruit icy drink was good. Lacks ambience but is okay for a relaxing spot for a tapioca drink. They didn’t carry the first two items I wanted in their menu so they are probably reducing inventory due to low sales.

i ordered green tea pudding milktea and the calamari. they were good and the calamari is tasty. i like that the place is tidy and that the selections are not overwhelming like other boba place. i just hated the fact that im the only customer there earlier and the lady felt like i was disturbing her *texting* time. im sorry but i felt like a ghost when i came here. i would totally understand if the place was busy but come on… its like she was upset seing a customer and dont want to be bothered. :\ boo i will still give this place another shot if im back in the area to try out other tea flavors. but im crossing my fingers next time.

Hmm. What can I say? The selection and variety of drinks is definitely worth a 4⁄5 star rating but they do come up short in other areas. There’s not a lot to say about the ambience other than it’s muggy and boring. The boba itself is pretty good, not too chewy and not too soft. I think the drinks themselves are too sweet for the most part, they could use a little less sugar. The food is decent for snacks but I wouldn’t go there specifically for that. With that said, although there are better tapioca joints in the area, I would still come here out of convenience from time to time.

I’ve been here twice now and I absolutely love it. Why? Because this is the only boba tea place around me that has red bean milk tea! My favorite of all time. Little chunks of red beans with my tapioca, perfect. I don’t mind that it’s only cash(what Asian place isn’t). Worth it and will come here on my breaks or lunch more often. $ 3 for a regular red bean– sold. Haven’t tried the food yet, but will get to it. I’ve heard great things about the lunch specials.

I was craving matcha milk tea which not all boba shops have. I decided to give Tapioca Café a try since they make it and I was in the area. My boyfriend and I were circling around the plaza to find this place, but it’s right next to CVS. I ordered the Japanese green milk tea and he ordered the royal milk tea, both with tapioca. MYDRINKWASNOTEVENGREENANDTASTEDNOTHINGLIKEGREENMILKTEA. WHY?! Was it possible that they gave me the wrong drink or did their version of a matcha green milk tea just suck? I’ll go with the latter. I didn’t want to bother to ask them to fix it considering they all kept to themselves. The royal milk tea was too sweet and both drinks were watered down. I don’t know why I always make the mistake of ordering tapioca when I know I’m so picky about it. The tapioca added an overpowering artificial sweetness to the drinks. We also ordered the popcorn chicken which was over fried and tasted too fatty. I wouldn’t come back. Ugh, never again.

I love this place. SOMUCH. I come here at least once or twice a week with my boyfriend and we always get the Taro Milk Tea with tapioca. It’s quite delish. The workers aren’t too friendly, but if you’re only there for your drink and don’t much care for causal chit-chat with the severs, then it’s really not too bad. Plenty of seating, too.
