I was in the area and I Have never seen a Pindar store before.
Years ago I went to the Pindar winery, Which was really cool.
I really do like the Pindar wines.
The store is on the small size, But has a good selection of red and white wines.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Excellent location right on main street in port Jefferson.
They have free tastings which is really cool.

Strolled in her on a Friday afternoon with time to spare before a wedding. The two guys in there were completely disinterested, unfriendly, and almost rude. They were more interested in eating their lunch than pouring our tastings. We never heard anything (not a word) about any of the wines, they poured silently; we were so uncomfortable and felt completely unwelcome. Here’s a tip, be friendly, smile, welcome customers and you will sell more wine. Unacceptable.

OK folks, I’m gonna leave you with this tip. It involves a little bit of driving but trust me, its so worth it.
Come to the Pindar Wine Store on Main st in Port Jefferson and buy a bottle of «Spring Splendor» You can use «Winter White» but trust me, this works better.
Now go to the David Peach Farmstand and buy a jar of their fresh Sangria mix.
Dump both items into a pitcher and let sit for a few hours.
Stir
You’ll have the freshest tasting Sangria that’s great for Saturday night guests or it also makes a great brunch drink.
Its doesn’t save very well so don’t think you’ll make this and have it sit for the following weekend.

This place blew me away. We wandered in, reading on Unilocal that they offered tastings. It was Sunday afternoon and no one was in there except a younger man; he asked what kind of wines we liked and offered a tasting. AMAZING. We probably sampled about 12 wines, he was incredibly knowledgeable about all of them. We bought a few bottles (all under $ 20!!!) and they even held them for us while we walked around and went to lunch. i would definitely recommend.

I did not know there was a Pindar store out here, but lo and behold a walk up Main Street presented me with such a place.
My mother is a big fan of Pindar Whites. I think they are too sweet and not really the best of LI picks, but regardless I figured I’d pick some up for her.
The woman working here was extremely helpful and pleasant. It’s a small store and there was an elderly couple in there who needed help selecting wines and she did a good job of talking to us both and helping them as I picked bottles out.
Prices are much less than liquor stores and the worker really knew her stuff and did not mind chatting.
Parking lot at the base of Main Street and some spots outside.
