This place is well-deserved of it’s current perfect rating. I stumbled upon it whilst waiting the 2-hours for neighboring Old Fields. I peeked my head in, as we had planned to get a drink at a local bar while waiting for a table, and saw some friendly looking folks gathered around a rustic table with various open bottles of my favorite libation. I said«what’s going on in here?» and they replied, «we’re drinking some wine, want to join us?» Instead of dropping cash on overpriced drinks at a local bar, instead the three of us sampled(healthy tastings) of various wines. So much so that I took home a mixed case, with a nice discount on what what already some pretty well priced wine. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Furthermore, and you can take this one of two ways, they actually do not feature much local wines, but rather, feature small markets elsewhere. Wines from pocketed appelations deeps within Italy, Spain and France. I have no problem getting Long Island wine on Long Island. I do, however, find it difficult to get a decently priced Chateauneuf de Pape with some age on it around here. You can do that at Vine 2 Wine and you don’t have to take out a second mortgage. If you like Wine and you like to have thoughtful and engaging conversations about it, then this is your place. If you want to buy a $ 7 bottle of Yellowtail or $ 18 bottle of Pindar, you can throw a dart at a map and find it anywhere. This is a «can’t miss» for wine lovers.

For good affordable wine on Long Island you won’t find a better place. Fridays Saturdays and Sundays is free wine tasting, I always leave here with at least one bottle. Vine to wine also has a wine exclusive to the store called the blend. I always have a bottle of the blend in stock, yeah it’s that good.

What a pleasant surprise! Well off the beaten path but worth the trip. We walked in for a wine tasting and was quite surprised that the selection of wines was relatively limited. After speaking with our host we knew why… he hand picks quality wine for the store and there is no bad wine there at all. The knowledge of our host was remarkable. We will definitely be back!

This place is a true Port Jefferson Village gem! The shop is very welcoming and the owners and employees are knowledgeable and friendly. They will openly offer you advice and info about wines. They offer free tastings every weekend and set up other special events throughout the year. If you join their mailing list you will get notices regarding all if their events. It is nice to be able to go into a local shop and buy reasonably priced, excellent wines. Of course they have some higher end wines for those extra special occasions.
