Another strip mall restaurant. Adequate parking. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Nothing special here, but nice place with good food.

We give it 3.5 stars. We had lunch so ate sandwiches, nothing extraordinary. Nice people. Good prices. Cool artwork on walls. Breakfast dishes we saw looked good but again Definitely a diner so don’t expect much else. We may try breakfast another time. People throw stars in too quickly. Wish scale was 1 – 10 as that would give better range of most places.

Good, fast service, with nice staff. Not expensive. Food was adequate at best. My hash browns were funky greasy, and the sausage gravy on my country fried steak had cut up chunks of bland sausage patty in it, not crumbles from the actual cooking of the sausage. The country fried steak itself was probably Cisco low grade frozen meat product. Fried eggs were fine. My guy’s pecan pancakes were dry and had very few pecans. His bacon looked over cooked. Coffee was watery. Possibly«Mel» himself was alternating between the kitchen and poking around an HVAC duct.

I ordered the Mel’s Trio(Chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad), Steak n’ Cheese Omlette, and the tall stack Pancakes. I was really looking forward to trying this place out for my sunday brunch but was deeply disappointed when the waitress seemed to be very unwelcoming. When she was taking our order she was looking around as if she was not interested and she barely smiled at us. The Steak n’ Cheese was dry, and the the Mel’s trio did not satisfy me as good as it looks in pictures. The pancakes on the other hand was marvelous!

We had a wonderful breakfast this morning at Mel’s Diner. The ham and cheese omlette with red potato home fries was delicious. My wife and I completely enjoyed this family diner. Our waitress Christina was such a pleasure talking with. A MUSTDO breakfast location while visiting the Port Orange/Daytona Beach area.

Mel’s is a nice place. This is obviously a hangout for locals and there’s a very good reason for that. The food is great, it’s affordable and it’s served up by extremely friendly and attentive wait staff. Feeling a bit peckish this morning, I had to try Mel’s Mega Breakfast and coffee. It did not disappoint but as hungry as I felt and as good as it was, I couldn’t quite finish the whole platter of eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries and toast(note to self: Remember the meaning of the word«Mega» when it’s placed before anything.) The free WiFi was a bonus for all of us who need to check emails or do some light web surfing. Just ask for the password. I like Mel’s a lot. And I’ll be back again. Good food, I like coming here because they easily accommodate orders that may want to remove or add a specific ingredient. You can tell it’s a family run type of place. They don’t baby customers with an unrealistically enthusiastic«work» personality, if you know what i mean

I chose what has seemed to be my breakfast choice of late, a fried egg and bacon sandwich on white toast I wasn’t disappointed the two eggs were cooked over medium the bacon cooked perfect and toast well it was a very nice platform to hold all of this together. I also really enjoyed the coffee it was fresh and plentiful. We walked in a little after 9AM on this Saturday morning and since its a seat yourself restaurant we quickly found a table but most were full but there wasn’t a wait although there was a steady flow of customers after we were seated. Our server greeted us within a minute after we were seated and delivered our drink order just few minutes after taking out order. The food came out nice and hot on clean warm plates not only was the food presentation perfect it was so good. There seems to be plenty of parking in the front and also on either side of the entrance. All in all this was a great experience, the service was great and the restaurant is spotless clean all of these things are reasons we’ll return so definitely keep this little gem in mind when you’re looking for a breakfast or lunch spot when in the area.

Yummy breakfast. We both left happy & satisfied for a very reasonable price. The service was awesome– they were pretty busy, but we never felt like we were not being very well taken care of. The service was prompt, friendly and my coffee was never empty and always hot!

This is the best breakfast joint in Port Orange. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. My menu favorites are the hash browns and pancakes!

Fast service, friendly staff, and yummy breakfast food. Perfect for the weekend when you wake up hungry and don’t feel like making breakfast. I had the banana chocolate chip French toast casserole meal. It was very good, but filling! I may just get the side order next time.

This place is so yummy. An old friend just told me about it and we came for breakfast after church. I had the Bagel Breakfast sandwich with sausage and swiss cheese. Oh my! I ate it all. My family ate all theirs too. They had eggs n sausage and biscuits and gravy. Now it’s my fav b’fast place when I visit home. Oh and parking was very easy!
