Ok, so I’ve heard this place is out of business. This is the second place that I’ve spotted a trend of truly negative reviews followed by the closing of the business. Ownership/Management really need to take notice and correct it. If you have people telling you that your clam chowder taste like chalk you should probably look into it.

Just learned this place has shut its doors. Not surprised as i just heard fro a friend who was a frequent customer he was there on Sunday and a couple sitting behind him was ignored to the point that they got up and left. I tried this place again before Christmas. Waited an hour for my twilught dinner and it was barely warm. Sure it must have sat under the warmung lights for some time. The staff seem to hide somewhere, often not a person in sight when you walked in. Regina was the one good server they had, the rest have beem marginal to awful.

Oysters covered in hairy barnacles. Some were loose and just hanging there. Left grey/green streaks on my plate. Ew.

Wow, did the Lighthouse go downhill in a short time. I ordered the medallions of beef with noodles… two, count ‘em, two small pieces of meat with cold noodles. I asked the server about it and he told me that was the way it came. Will we be going back? Nope! And if you, the management of the Lighthouse read this, really guys, you could have done so much better for so very little effort.

What a huge disappointment for a place with that much potential. Although it does have the amazing view on the water the food as well as the service falls short of being less than adequate. We were one of 3 tables there for lunch and we waited 45 minutes for a server to take our order. I had to go to the bar and ask for service only to overhear employees talking about what a dump this place was. We ordered from the bar and when we received our food it was nasty. We had a sale and a steak sandwich which was completely raw. The salad was rotten and tasted like rotten dirt. We sent it back, paid our bill and left. It’s no wonder there is now a for sale sight in front of the building. Too bad, this place could be a really nice place. This place is a joke.

Food was horrible! I have never had such a fishy tasting salad in my life. And it smells like a bathroom when you walk in. Bad bad food!

Go to the bar for a drink. Cool view, nice bar. The service will be slow. You will be slightly irritated. But a drink’s a drink. I wouldn’t recommend the place if you want to eat, but the bar is OK. Went for dinner recently. Not impressed for the price, but the food was perfectly fine. Service, again, very slow. But here’s a thing: There was a Unilocal special — if you check in, there is a coupon for a drink discount. I did, and showed the coupon to the server. She was baffled. She went and got a manager. He was even more baffled. He went somewhere, and talked to someone, for probably 10 minutes. He came back appearing even more confused, and told me he doesn’t know what Unilocal is, and this Unilocal check in special was not their doing. He insinuated that someone(I assume me) had put this on Unilocal falsely. But, since he was so magnamimous, he would honor it and give the lousy buck off or whatever it was. Extremely irritating.

Great view. Food was poorly prepared, service polite, but not in synch with the needs of the customer. I’d REALLY like to like the restaurant, but after 3 tries this year, I just can’t go back.

Try this place at your own risk. Service was horrible. Waited to be seated even though we had a reservation. Prawns were actually shrimp. No cocktail sauce. Bread is bad, salad was hot. Steak was good but they put it on top of the mashed potatoes. We will never come back again. Oh and my beer wasn’t the coldest and the bathroom floors are sticky… To much to name!

I don’t know what this place is like on the daily, We had a huge family dinner for nearly 20 people, infants, children, and adults, and the service was great. The food was fantastic. We really had a positive experience, which can be hard with a group that size. We kinda expected to find something lacking just because of the number of guests, plus we had appetizers, various drinks, and desserts all around doesn’t make things easy. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly how we ordered it. I can’t find a bad thing to say about it. Huge difference from my last experience years ago. New management or something. Loved it!

Historically, this restaurant has all the features of a stellar dining experience from the location(water front) to the ambiance(casual fine dining) but has most recently been hit and miss on the food side and service. This has been significantly turned around and now, we have in PO one of the finest dining establishments within 20 miles. Thanks to Mark and Jill, who have extensive restaurant experience(opened Brix in Gig Harbor for example), the Lighthouse is just that, a shining beacon amongst many over touted restaurants(one partcular one off a parking lot) or too many Chinese restaurants(every three blocks), and nothing that resembles real Italian. So its a pleasure to take family for a casual night out without breaking the bank or out of town friends to show off our little hidden treasure called Port orchard. Lighthouse works on many levels. Having eaten there three times since new management/owners, I can only rave. We had the shrimp, steak, and to die for salmon. Everything was well prepared, and served in a timely fashion. The desserts absolutely are spot on and make the options difficult, I am prone to go with the bread pudding and ice cream. It rocks! In addition, Mark and Jill have community in mind as they build their clientele. When I asked for a donation to a local non profit, they did not even blink an eye; it was a generous donation and we all at West Sound Unity so appreciate the support. Based upon their success in Tacoma and Gig Harbor, we are fortuate they have chosen Lighhouse as their next venture. Their track record tells me we will be in for fine dining for the long haul. Think of Lighthouse as a blend of Tides Tavern and Anthony’s in little Port Orchard. Its that good!!!

Oh how I tried to ‘like’ this restaurant, but they went out of their way to foil me with the worst service I have ever encountered! 4:00pm on Friday I took my Father(from out of state) to enjoy the view & have a nice dinner. I choose to have us seated in the bar since he is hard of hearing and I did not want to disrupt the other diners. After seating us, we were given a lunch menu and our server left; I asked for the Happy Hour menu that has the Twilight Specials on it, this I had to get myself as the person had left, then we had to flag down the(?) Manager to get our drink orders in. When our drinks arrived, we ordered our meals. Insert a LOooong wait before my salad & Dad’s soup were brought. Insert Loooooong wait, someone(bartender?) came to take away our plates, without asking if we needed another beverage or how anything was. Here comes another looong wait before our meals were brought, mine was tasty but Dad’s oysters were over cooked. Again, no one checked to see how we were doing of if we needed anything else. Our meals came with a dessert which we ordered with coffee. Dad’s cold coffee was brought, but no cream/sugar/spoons. After 10minutes my decaf coffee was brought and I requested a hot cup of coffee for Dad, along with cream/sugar & spoons, these were brought but his coffee never made it and we could see 3 – 5 servers having a conversation but we could not get thier attention! Desserts was delivered but still no coffee for Dad, even though I reminded her. Finally had to ask the bar tender for my bill since the staff was MIA along with the coffee. Tried to speak to the Mgr, but he was in a conversation with the staff and walked away from us. Will NOT be going back again.

I’m only giving this place 1 star, because there isn’t an option for negative or even zero stars. This was our second visit to this restraunt. The first visit, the service sucked, but the food was good. We decided to try to give the service a second shot. The service was worse the second time than it was the first time. After waiting 10 minutes to place our order, we ordered, chicken alfredo(with a salad with ranch dressing) and a carnivore pizza with ¼ of the pizza being sausage only. For drinks, we were fairly simple in getting 3 waters, and a root beer(For a place with a full bar, they didn’t have any orange juice.) 10 minutes after ordering, our waters and the root beer arrived. 20 minutes after ordering the cesar salad arrived. Yes, thats right… Cesar, even though ranch was what was ordered. 35 minutes after we ordered, the chicken alfredo and the carnivore pizza with only ¼ having everything and the rest not having sausage arrived. We stated that what was brought was not what we ordered and sent the pizza back to be corrected after being told it would only 10 minutes for a new one. At the same time, I also asked to speak to the manager. 10 minutes after asking to speak to the manager, the waitress came saying the manager was busy and he would be with us soon at this point, I was so pissed off, I asked for the check told them to keep the pizza that was supposedly in the oven just so I could get out of the place. 10 Minutes after that, the other waitress came over saying she was the manager. I explained the problem to her, and looked over my check for the Alfredo and the root beer. Well, the root beer sat empty for 25 minutes while waiting for a refill. This is one of those places that doesn’t think people compare the prices on the menu to the actual check. They tried charging 15.95 for the alfredo when the menu clearly states 14.95. After arguing with the«manager» about the price, she finally fixed it and we left. This is the only place I have ever left a penny tip(Just so they knew I didn’t forget). Altogether we were in the place an hour and 20 minutes, and I still left hungry. The«manager» didn’t give a damn about my family as customers. During the course of our visit, our waitress had a 15 minute conversation with the table next to us, and a 10 minute conversation with another table.(Maybe she got a better tip out of them.) Either way, I DONOT recommend this restaurant to anyone(even though it has an awesome view and the food is good if it ever comes.) Edit: The same day I posted this, I sent a link to the restaurant via there website. Just in case the owner or a real manager might care. I have gotten no response thus far indicating that no supervisor cares about the customers experience either.

I decided to take my Girlfriend out for dinner last night on a spur of the moment so she wouldn’t have to cook after a long day at work. We decided to try the Lighthouse and both enjoyed our meals very much! The food was great, the drinks good & the service was«ONPOINT»! We recommend The Lighthouse and our server Tobin to everyone. Thanks again! We’ll be back. Jeff R

I had a great experience there. I came right when they opened — so I was understanding if they didn’t notice me while they were getting ready for lunch. They have wifi and an incredible view. Usually a great view = bad service or bad food. That wasn’t my experience. I needed to get some work done and have a quick bite and this was the perfect place to do both. I went on a Thurs at approx 11am. Great lunch spot. I like seeing the huge ships in Bremerton — and the water. I would think this would be very cool for kids too!

Lowest possible rating. It’s too bad really — the service is so bad it overwhelms some pretty damned good food. I’ve never had a waitress suck so badly. As a server, there are a very few things you are responsible for. Get the table drinks, take the order, bring the food to the table, and handle the check/package up the leftovers. 1. Drinks. 2 cups of hot chocolate and 2 cups of tea took about 20 minutes. Our waitress explained that the delay was due to having to wash coffee cups for us. The«hot» water for the tea may have been 110 degrees the first time she brought it, so we had to wait an additional 5 minutes for her to run water through the coffee pot. I had to find my own condiments for the tea at the waitress station, as she was no where to be found and has apparently never heard of sugar with tea. 2. Taking the order. She took our order after bringing the drinks, then immediately took the order of the people who had come in 10 minutes after us. We noticed they got their drinks immediately, and their salads came out quite promptly. They also enjoyed their fish and chips long before we received our sandwiches and pizza. In fairness, the waitress had warned that the pizza would take«a little» longer as they do not fire up the brick oven during lunch hours because it is too expensive to run. However, I hardly expected more than 10 minutes; in reality it took much longer. 3. The food was excellent. 4. Handling the check. Waiting for the check took quite a while, as she admitted to forgetting to bring the box back with the check«six times». This added another 10 minutes to the final tally of an HOURAND18MINUTES for 3 sandwiches, a cheese pizza, and some warmed water. So, the tip I left was«suck less» written plainly on the receipt. What she lacked for in attention during the meal, she makes up for in ninja reflexes — she found my «tip» within seconds and chose to confront me in the parking lot, upset that I didn’t leave her a gratuity. I regale the tale above, and pointed out that her failure as a server made us miss our movie. Her rebuttal was to call me a prick in front of my 13 year old daughter and flip me off before running in the door to ignore some more customers. The icing on the cake — we call and try to talk to the manager this evening, and the same woman states he’s too busy to talk to us. He does call back a few hours later and offers an apology, and states that they will be reprimanding the waitress and holding a meeting with the staff tomorrow. Good luck with that.

Unbelieveable. Stopped by for appetizer & drinks. Went into bar, shelf literally about empty and next to no wine. Reason? Oh, hit pretty hard on Mothers Day!(that was a week and a half ago!!) Customer service with out a doubt, WORST. Bad bartender, bad bad bad. Slow, rude, condescending. Have had the food here before, inconsistent. Didn’t order on last trip. Wanted to try the food again to see if perhaps it had improved, however by the time our order could have been taken we had to go. We thought one and a half hour would be enough time, apparently not. Doesn’t matter, won’t be back.

This place is a real gem in faraway Port Orchard. I’m not too sure about the white paper tablecloths, but the food more than makes up for that odd quirk. Meals come with a good-sized salad — no iceberg lettuce here — or smoked salmon bisque that makes you wonder if it would be poor form to lick the rim of the bowl. Their pasta dishes are outstanding, especially the pear ravioli, which floats tantalizingly on a sea of marsala sauce, topped with blue cheese crumbles and dried cranberries. It sounds odd, but it’s amazing, as is the nociali, with roasted chicken, peas and mushrooms in a hazelnut cream sauce over fresh-shaven papperdelle pasta. Amazing.
