Shari’s Restaurant

We waited way too long to be seated, waited even longer for someone to take our order, hair in our food, only to wait just as long for someone to ring us up at the register. I just quietly left after I paid. Only thing good about this place is the freeway access.

The seating system here is at best not so good. It took 10 minutes after a manager took our names to get back to us while all the while there were plenty of ready tables we could have just been seated at. It then took 20 minutes to get our food and another 20 minutes after that to get a refill on my drink. For this busy time it seems to be a little under staffed and not so well managed. I’ll give 2 stars because they did bring our food out and it was picture perfect and lived up to our expectations.

I have ate breakfast lunch and dinner at this location and I must say I have always had a great meal. The omelette’s are great, the prime rib dip is excellent, milkshakes are aw some. The service was great. You can’t beat the pricing as well.
The manager is a great lady been their for ever, must love her job and it showed.

My parents and I are pissed off their service because the host didn’t tell us to write your name before you’ll get seated. The waitress is fine, but the host is terrible. Dang, your food will be arrive 20 minutes in your table. 10 mins for waiting to be seated, but they are not busy no seriously. When you pay in the front register you’ll wait 5 minutes and it’s not really busy. Management you need to change because you’ll losing customer. Sorry your customer service. Well, I’m not come back here again what a disappoint for Sunday morning breakfast I get.

Came for pie with a few friends around 10:00 and ordered 2 pies and 2 milkshakes. It’s currently 10:42 and we have had no service. The manager glared when we walked in and the server said, «What do you want» and threw our straws at us. We are leaving unhappy and very hungry. Not coming back.

Service sucks, food takes forever to come out, and when it does it’s cold. Tables are sticky, staff isn’t too attentive. Won’t be back.

So at least from my experience, here is the deal with Shari’s and it seems regardless of location but includes this (Port Orchard) location. The food is better than Denny’s. The place in general is cleaner than Denny’s. The pricing is similar to Denny’s and the service is like eating at home with the exception being you are not told to go get «it» yourself. But you may wait a long time to get it… whatever it is.
Like I said though, if you are on the road and want a sit down meal they do a decent job. And yes, the pies are very good. So are the cinnamon rolls ;o)

Coming in from out of town late evening, I met my mom and sister at Shari’s for dessert, wait person brought water which seemed to have lemon pulp floating in it, what a nice touch I thought. I drank most of the water before realizing there was no lemon taste.
I flagged the wait person and asked what they added to the water, she looked puzzled and then looked in the glass and said there was nothing added, that I was given a dirty glass, not just dirty but a glass that upon closer inspection, looked like small globs of dough, the gross part was I had been drinking out of it for several minutes before noticing.
No excuse or apology, she just took the glass and brought me another.
The cake and ice cream dessert was very good, but that water glass was super gross.

My son had eaten here and extolled the virtues of the Bavarian burger, which is burger, pastrami, Swiss cheese, and sliced pickles on a pretzel bun so when the wife and I took him there for dinner I gave it a try.
First of all, I wish I could remember the name of our server because she was very good, both friendly and efficient.
Very good burger and a lot of it. I had a pastrami burger at another restaurant where they had just put chopped pastrami on top of the patty. Shari’s gives you whole, thick slices of pastrami – it was a huge burger. The accompanying French fries were also very good. I also had an outstanding chocolate milkshake.
Denny’s does a lot more advertising but if you’re in the mood for eating at a family dining restaurant, go with Shari’s. We didn’t have any pies this time but from past experience I know that they are good.

We had multiple issues. It took over 2 hours for our meal due to wrong orders and incredibly slow food prep. Silverware was dirty, the food was cold. We had zero refills of drinks during the entire meal. I was embarrassed to have suggested to my parents that we eat there. We won’t go back. We expect mediocre food at shari’s, but our East Bremerton restaurant is at least friendlier and (marginally) faster. Worst eating experience in years.

Update: they just gave us a WHOLE PIE to comp us for the wait! I work in a customer service business, and that’s good service. Thanks!

Had lunch there last Thursday with my coworkers, there was 5 of us at noon. Let’s start with the positive: our waitress was very nice. That’s all the positive I could think of from my most recent experience. We waited 25 minutes after our orders were placed before 2 of us received the salads the came with their meal. When we left at 35 mins after we placed our order, a total of 2 people ate — not their whole meal, but their side salad. We did make it clear that we were on our lunch break and in a rush. The waitress was nice but she did not give any explanation or was apologetic for the delay. She did mention that the manager was helping in the kitchen. With the manager helping in the kitchen, one would assume that he/​she would realize how behind they were and should’ve said something. Nothing was said. Long story short, we left with our orders in boxes. An hour lunch was waisted sitting and waiting. If you have 2 or 3 hours to spare, maybe it’d be a good place to go. That is if you get your order correct. My coworker who ordered their lunch «express» trio with a half sandwich, a side salad and a pie received a whole sandwich and a pie and believe me, there was nothing express about it!

First ever going to a Shari’, and with seeing how they are famous of their pies, I had high expectations because I am a baker. The food was alright. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and it was dripping in grease. at first I thought it was the syrup because it was so brown but it wasnt. The nacho appetizer was really good and the avocado in it was nice and fresh. As for the pie, we ordered key lime, and I also tried their apple, pecan, and coconut cream. They were good, but not great. They didn’t have anything memorable about them. And last but not least, this review has gone down a star for me because I am more than positive that the manager was drunk. When I first called to ask for information, he was slurring his words terrible and talking ridiculously. As we also sat and waited for our table (my husband and i) I noticed he was consistently blinking slowly, and walking weird. As for the waitresses, they were wonderful. As a previos server myself, k was very impressed with our waitress serving thr entire one side of the building. Will most likely not go back unless it’s and last choice.

This place is the breeding ground of all filth. The filth in the bathroom can be kicked from the floor in great clots. The table seemed to have not been washed in weeks. GROSS GROSS GROSS!!!#!!!

Ok service, mediocre food, i expected better to be honest. my food was a little cold and my burger was not good at all, i left the establishment craving Mcdonalds. I’m not going back anytime soon.

I’m a fan of Shari’s, in general. On the night we went there, we got good service and the food was great. The only complaint I have is that it took a little longer than I thought it should to seat us. I had a veggie omelet with french toast. It was delicious. Shari’s consistently provides great food at a very reasonable price. Plus, it’s open 24 hours and has convenient locations.

I went in on a Friday night for some pie a la mode and was not disappointed. Returned the next morning for the Shrimp and Mushroom Omelet. It was okay… nothing great but not bad at all. It’s a decent little spot. I did take home some of their Strawberry Jam that they have for sell and am enjoying it very much.

Came in tonight (a busy friday night) and as we walked in the door I seen a family of 4 come in behind me and my husband. One of the waitresses looked and said «shit!» while behind the bar, in front of the kids! I was disgusted! After that we had no problems. Our waitress was a little slower, but that expected for a busy friday night around dinner time, anyways. I ordered a Strawberry milkshake and burger. It was pretty yummy! The waitress didn’t ask me how I wanted my burger cooked, and she seemed kind of scrambled. Frantically running around. My husband got a prime dip sandwich which he enjoyed. The prices here are great. February is $ 7.99 for any classic pie so we took advantage of the deal. Breakfast here is better than Denny’s. I’ve never had a problem with Shari’s, the food has always come out hot and delicious, the servers have always been friendly. I give it a 4 star rating because of the waitress cursing, especially in front of kids.

I’m new to port orchard and really wanted to find a place to take my family of five to. I was excited to find Shari’s. I like some of their food and love their pie! BUT… The service is the worst. All 4 times I’ve gone it was the slowest service I’ve ever received and this last time was the worst. Heather was our waitress and she seemed so stressed out and discombobulated from the beginning, she over poured my drink all over the floor and then Ignored us, never cleared plates or gave us refills and finally asked us if we wanted pie after I already had to ask the counter for it. Terrible service and I doubt we will be back unless it’s pie to go!
