Excellent coffee. Cannot speak to their espresso drinks or food but their brewed coffee is spot-on: fresh and not over-roasted. Parents retired recently to PT and I was expecting to have to search far and wide for quality coffee while visiting. Luckily I happened into Velocity and my search abruptly ended. This place has coffee that’s as good as my that of favorite third-wave hipster jaunts in Oakland or Brooklyn, in a prettier setting and at a better price. Well worth a visit for coffee aficionados.

I love this place! Excellent coffee made by friendly people. Beautiful space with large windows opening out to the bay. They also carry the excellent bagels from Bob’s.

Being a remote worker, I get to try all the local coffee shops to(a) see how good their coffee, food, and environment is and(b) see if they’ll let me work there all day, sampling everything, eating up their wifi, and still not kick me out. I can say that this place is one of two in PT I enjoy frequenting. The short version is that they care, and it’s a great place to hang out, whether with friends or working through the day. If you get a bad espresso pull, tell them and they’ll be genuinely concerned and be happy to make it right. If you want a laugh, just stick around and listen to and watch Joe. He’s awesome. Want sensitivity, talk with Sarah(sp?). Everyone here is great, even if I didn’t mention them in this review. The only«meh» thing I have to say about this place is the lack of cushy chairs. But that’s tempered by the bar, with plenty of space for your laptop, plenty of outlets to plug into and a view that faces out toward the ocean, where you can watch ferry boats and sail boats go by. On nice days, the windows in front of you can be pushed completely open so it feels like you are outside, not cooped up inside. Their wifi is solid as well, and I’m an expert in judging wifi. So, don’t go here. It’s terrible. I don’t want you hogging up my wifi, taking my seat at the bar, or getting more jokes in with Joe than I do. Keep your distance and get your coffee somewhere else, tourist. ;)

After reading reviews I was expecting a great cup of coffee, me and my wife both ordered Americanos and they were extremely watered down no flavor. Was going to give a 2 star but will give them the benefit of the doubt that the other reviews are true, maybe I will have to try them again when I’m in the area. The place was nice and baristas friendly.

«Arancia»… Just order one of these bad boys! Orange peel strip and chocolate in a latte. This is one of the most technically excellent espresso shops we’ve found outside of big cities.

My only disappointment is that I didn’t have a chance to go back a second time. Got a very good pour-over from the very friendly and helpful staff. Strongly recommended.

Perfect latte. They got the goods to make an espresso to your liking. Better than usual almond croissant.

«You know, this is — excuse me — a damn fine cup of coffee. I’ve had many cups of coffee in my life and this, this is one of the best. Damn good coffee. And hot! «~Special Agent Dale Cooper, Twin Peaks, WA Damn straight. Have had a several damn fine cups of coffee at Velocity Coffee, as well as some incredibly fine mochas. Good coffee, nice ambiance, and friendly staff. This is my go to coffee place in PT.

I enjoy the atmosphere of the shop, as there are great places to sit and work. I wasn’t excited about the espresso, which tasted over-roasted. However, if you’re staying at the Point Hudson Marina, the location can’t be beat. Note they’re closed on Sundays. Friendly staff.

Choice of Chemex and Kalita for slow bar. Stumptown or Olympia roasters. The head barista knows her stuff as well… very good cup of coffee.

Velocity Coffee is a great place, the baristas know what they are doing, the place is spotless and beautiful and ‘most everything just seems right. However there were two things that disappointed me and I was surprised to find in such a classy place: First, there doesn’t seem to be any distinction between a Cappuccino and a latte except for the size(a cap in a 6oz and a latte in a 8oz) no spooning involved. Seriously guys, I expect more. Second, the prices here are very high considering I was served conventional homogenized milk and its well known that Stumptown and Olympia aren’t exactly the highest quality exclusive beans on the market. I couldn’t help wondering if the price premium was just paying the rent on the fancy building.

Velocity Coffee is my favorite place to go when sailing/boating out of Port Townsend(North Puget Sound). I may even venture out to say it’s some of the best regular brewed coffee I’ve ever had in the Seattle Area and I consider myself quite the coffee connoisseur. The coffee is from a local organic coffee company. Very homey feel and a must go when in Port Townsend!

There are moments I want to capture, and seeing this quaint little spot, after walking through the nautical shop, I wanted to sit and and absorb the atmosphere :) we ordered cappuccino and americanos… Very cute view, and a cute little coffee shop. Pretty good coffee too. Lots of beautiful wood kayaks on display. My hubby loved it!

We had one morning and early afternoon to explore Port Townsend, and Velocity Coffee was one third of a compelling trifecta. We walked past the numerous elegant Victorian buildings to the more modern yet weathered Marine Center. I was served a perfectly pulled double espresso with a small glass of sparkling water on the side. Good vibes(reggae music) and professionalism in full effect.

This is a wooden sleek piece of work! Me and my friend enjoyed a walk around the beach and strolled inside here. The gal up front was super friendly and pleasant as I asked about their«Dragonfly Chai». It’s a great spot to end/start a stroll, have a cup of your weapon of choice and be all happy & chill. We parked on the window seats with the neat view.

A locals’ place that pays some serious attention to coffee, gets their bagels from Bob’s bagels(Bob actually makes them locally and they are so good), uses jam from a woman who makes them in her kitchen and in exquisite combinations, pastries are from Pane d’Amore… this place is so good. And if you spy a pie, a slice is strongly recommended as they come from the local pie specialist. Also, it’s a fun environment. Joe and his wife are upbeat, fun and the staff are seriously schooled in coffee manipulation and are really really nice. You’re likely to overhear conversations about writing, juggling, local music, and all things sailing. It’s a cozy place to be on a cold day and the views are so pretty. Free wifi, of course. :)
