I really loved this coffee shop. The atmosphere was really the best for studying and it was just cozy enough, not enough to fall asleep but just enough. The staff was friendly and the coffee strong. Easily one of the best carmel lattes I have had in my life with really fun latte art. Definitely a spot I will return to. Although I was bummed there wasn’t any GF options for food.

Albina Press was right by the house I stayed in. Of all the coffee houses I’ve visited in Portland, Albina Press best creates a coffee house that really feels like the neighborhood coffee house. Albina sits on the corner. Windows highlighted in red Christmas lights. Inviting. Through the rain. Inside the local street artists spaces his newest canvas on the walls. Three baby tea plants grow in packed dirt into an espresso press. Wooden floors that rise in the back to a living room with warm couches and a coat rack. In the middle the baristas take orders and make art in my foamy cappuccino. Simon and Garfunkel dances on the speakers. All is good. Great for family friends.

I’ve been going to Albina for about 9 years, and it has always been one of my top spots. Then it was studying for grad school, now it’s keeping myself awake and treating my daughter to a yummy hot cocoa. They always make her the cutest designs! Plus the lattes are on point! One of the best in town. And, lastly the staff is great, mellow and friendly.

Every coffee shop needs a great couch. You know the one — old, beaten up, but soft, leathery and comfy. Albina has three! I work from coffee shops a lot. I spend 4 — 8 hours a day in them, 2 — 3 days per week. Albina is great. Really fantastic hot chocolate, some very yummy snacks. The only knock on this place, and this is just a personal thing, is that they don’t have anything beyond pastries to eat. If they had a good sandwich or something, I would never leave.

Was staying at an Airbnb in the neighborhood and this place was great, my go-to stop for coffee in the mornings before getting busy exploring Portland.

This place is what you expect from a typical Portland coffee shop. Great coffee, great open space with minimal decorations. Nice little couch/lounge area in the back that is more private. Every time I have been here, music has sucked though.

I spent a good 4 hours here camped out doing work. Great working atmosphere. I especially like the large doors and windows open to the fresh air outside. They have a cute workspace area in back with couches and a desk. I had a cappuccino, which was bold. I enjoyed it but it was too small for the price tag, in my opinion. I also had a cup of coffee(stumptown), which isn’t my favorite brew but it’s decent. I think the selling point here is the atmosphere and it’s not on a busy street.

Hands down the best coffee shop in North Portland. If you’re a regular, they will greet you warmly and they always make great drinks. Always. :) Plus, the art on the walls is simply top notch.

Guy was rude I told him it was my first time there and he didn’t say a word didn’t offer anything or suggest anything. So I just got a chai to go he handed it to me with no lid or straw I know I was in Portland but come on. I said thank you and he didn’t say a word. Rude.

Thick, rich, bold coffee. Felt as though the beans were freshly roasted the day of, pretty incredible stuff. My drink of choice was the Americano and it turned out to be some of the best stuff I’ve ever had and they prepared it better than Stumptown themselves. Weird how that works.

I love this place. Great coffee. Looks clean. Mostly friendly employees. They must have changed their music volume issues because now it’s perfect. :)

First and foremost, this place has really, really good coffee. The kind of coffee where you order, expecting a normal cup of coffee, and take a sip and stop for a moment, snapped out of your routine and reverie by the flavor. I’ve toured quite a few of the coffee shops in Portland in multiple districts, and this ranks in the top 3. Granted, the taste is bound to change from day to day depending on what beans they’re using that day, but I have no doubt that the skilled baristas here will treat all beans with the obvious care that they treated the ones I sampled. The space itself is lovely, nice open feeling with a few nooks to tuck yourself into. Airy, bright and cozy all at the same time. Not too loud or too packed either time I went there, and plenty of picnic-table style outside seating; good for bigger groups. The staff has always been courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful, no snarkiness here as far as I’ve experienced. It’s nicely located a bit off the main Mississippi strip too, giving it a more relaxed vibe than the relatively trafficked Fresh Pot. My go-to for coffee in the Mississippi/Albina district. Try this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

The Press, the Press, the Press… oh the coffeehouse I have dreams about, the coffeehouse that has ruined me for most other coffee. Back in town for a visit 4 years after the last visit. Was here every day, multiple times a day. Yep. Coffee still the best. Baristas still friendly and cool and actually willing to smile and even chat a little bit while they make your coffee, unlike other grumpy baristas on the same street. Still ruined for other coffee. Now I am home, an entire state away from the Press. There is woe. I’ll be back. Ten stars for coffee, ten stars for baristas, ten stars for the Press. What do you mean I have to stop at five?

Came to Portland looking for a good coffee shop and I found a great one! The baristas here know their coffee and are helpful in recommending a drink if you are not sure. I had a regular Americano which was made with their usual bean mix blend. My wife had a regular latte which tastes great without any added sugar/milk. The atmosphere here is also very kickback. They have this back room that has shipped coffee bags stapled to the roof as part of their design. Lots of seats to stay around to study, work or even just relax. Overall the coffee shop was a good way to start my adventurous coffee searching day at 6:30am!

I’ve been here a couple times and have always enjoyed the drinks they have made. The servers/barista were polite and warm. If you want that hipster city laid back coolness, this is your place to hang out. The atmosphere is nice and they have a nice laid back lounge in the back room. The foam art is some of the most creative I’ve seen. The location is very low key and quiet, great for studying, journaling, or reading. If you want to catch up with a friend it might be a little too quiet to have a good gab. Enjoyed the location.

I have heard so many good things about Albina Press — several of my pals migrate to this mecca daily for their fix. And now I can say — I get the hype. Favorite things: 1. the coffee — definitely the best cup I’ve had in Portland. My drink of choice is Americano — perfection. Nice and smokey, cozy I like to say. 2. Cute barista — yes, i’m that shallow. I love a bearded barista — what can I say 3. Understated /simple décor. Its literally handful of couches, some chairs/tables — boom. Glad they spent their time worrying about the perfect coffee and not trying to be an episode of Friends. Thank you Albina Press — for keeping it real Portlandia for me. All about the coffee.

Albine Press, my go-to coffee shop! Shout out to my homies for keeping me caffeinated, which in turn is preventing all sorts of headaches, excessive yawning and violent acts I would have to commit due to withdrawals. The morning crew generally knows my order which feels nice and they’re always friendly with chit chat. I hate coffee shops where the super cool baristas can’t stop their conversations for a brief second to take your order and say hello. All the staff here is super friendly which is just the heart shaped foam on the latte. I’m a medium soy latte, over and over, and it always hits the spot. I’ve been know of dabble in the delicious french pressed Stumptown coffee and their over achieving tea selection. They offer teas specially made by my naturopath next door«Yohalem-Ilsley Medicinal Teas» made right here in Portland and they’re fantastic. I pop in for a cup of «Mood Booster» or «Immune Booster» as needed. Generally speaking, Albina Press if goin’ off. While there are a number of tables, they’re filled with people working feverishly on laptops. When I worked from home this was one of my regular haunts where I’d post up for hours. They don’t give you the evil eye if you stay for a long time. I will say I’ve never not found a spot, but there have been some close calls. The ambiance is laid back and welcoming. As far as coffee shops go it’s not overly loud and is a good place to meet a friend for a nice cup of coffee.

My Stumptown detector directed me here. I’d like to think I was born with a Stumptown detector back in the days when I was a wee little one, drinking cup after cup of Dunkin’ Donuts because I just didn’t know any better. Except that I will still down a cup of Dunk’s like I survived a week in the desert if it were possible here on the west coast. It’s a nostalgia thing. But we’re in Portland now, and no matter how many«it» coffee brands I chase based on this«Best» list or that one, I always, always, come crawling back to Stumptown. Hair Bender, if you’ve got it. Sorry I strayed. Again. Please don’t be mad at me. Albina Press is right next door to my acupuncturist’s office. And given that I am wired to be pathologically early to each and every pre-arranged appointment in my life, I usually have about 30 minutes to kill. I do so here. Music is loud. Tables are plenty. Food is limited. There are overstuffed couches in the back. I admittedly have to watch the caffeine intake before acupuncture, but Albina Press has me covered here too with a great selection of teas. Get the chamomile lavender if you’re overwhelmed by their selection. They also carry a line of medicinal teas developed by my acupuncturist, which is pretty cool.

— I like the mocha a lot. It’s tasty, there’s a good amount of milk, which I love. — There are also plenty of power outlets. — The sofas are awesome to sink into, and plentiful– that’s rare! — Plenty of street parking! — Reasonably priced — EXCELLENT wi-fi! What I dislike about this place– — It’s not conducive to doing quiet work/reading. The noise level(music and people around) is too high for my liking. — I don’t like the music. It’s too bass-heavy, mostly hip-hop, and I heard at least five really crass songs today. — I don’t like the layout. The ‘inner room’ inside has just one table, and it’s annoying to see someone take it up with absolutely no intention of working. Not saying that shouldn’t be allowed or something, but a place like Palio has tables for *everyone*, and you don’t need to be first to hog the only table available. — The metal screen door lets in all the cold air. It can get uncomfortably cold, and I dislike that. — No food! There’s literally just a couple of muffins. I wish cafes had something slightly more substantial. I don’t think I’ll come back.

Stumptown coffee is served here which one can never go wrong with. The hubby ordered a latte and enjoyed it. The interior of the shop has a nice feel and the back of the coffee shop was opened up entirely which is always nice on a cool summer morning. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating.
