They haven’t had the squid ink calamari in years, but the calamari they do have is great. It’s crispy, creamy, and not chewy. Drinks are strong, well mixed, and a tad on the expensive side. 10 – 14 $ a pop. Dinner however is extremely reasonable. 20 — 35 $ a plate. You could order just about anything on his menu and be happy. The shrimp scampi, steak, calamari, and ceasar salad are my favorites. Atmosphere is like a really nice lounge bar… sophisticated, sorta loud, jazz in the background, chandler, tall curtains, 70’s accents, and easy viewing of the kitchen. The feel of the place is spot on!

i can’t even begin to say how amazing this place is! so special circumstances, we had our company holiday party here so it was a bit of special treatment. but that aside you can’t beat the food no matter why you are there. so if you’re looking to book for a party know they can give you a private section of the restaurant, make a menu and make sure everyone is taken care of with the best service i’ve seen. in our listing was platter after platter of appetizers, meat & cheese, puffs, breads. all mouthwatering and fresh. then the caesar salad… i hardly have words. this was my favorite thing at the restaurant. period. the huge home made croutons soaked in homemade goodness. and fresh tossed Parmesan and lettuce. buttery, fishy heaven. i will literally go back JUST for this salad anytime. then mains were the pork chop, seafood pasta, a fish on spinach and muscles. these were all stellar thoughtful flavor combinations and beautiful presentations. desserts of mouse, custered, ice creams and crème brulet. everything was perfect. little italian coffees after dinner. the amazing man responsible for all of this is also a real delight to get to know. please, go, enjoy and share this with those you love.

I did not enjoy my time at this restaurant. The menu was only a page long, so there were not a lot of options to choose from. The dish I ordered I was told was not spicy but it was. I had to swap dishes with my family because it was too spicy for me. After the meal I had a funny aftertaste in my mouth. The waitress was not that friendly. The experience overall was not good.

Straight up the food deserves 4 – 5 stars. It’s really really delicious. The panda & I ordered the Spaghetti Agli’Olio –a perfectly al dente pasta with a flavorful blend of garlic, parmigiana, & pane– which is crunchy bread we discovered :-) but not like croutons($ 7 happy hour). We shared an order of Spicy Prawns($ 10 – 4 prawns) nice amount of heat, with a burst of flavor from the garlic and lime juice. If it had cabbage in the dish we never noticed it. Maybe we’re just frugal weirdos but as delicious as the prawns were –we could have used 2 more($ 2.50 per prawn is a bit spendy for us. Enjoyed a pint for $ 3.50-from a choice of two microbrews on tap. The vibe was romantic & classy, but as enchanting as the atmosphere was –the service was non existent. Friendly from the outset describing the specials in delicious detail– evasive and leaving us waiting(and waiting sigh…)when we wanted to order & pay our bill.

The food was disappointing. The beet salad and Caesar salad were mediocre. A simply glass of house wine cost $ 10. And the main course of of pork Raggu with fettuccine didn’t have much flavor. The final bill was $ 75.50, three times as much as we would spend on our regular hangout.

Walked in and was asked if we had a reservation. Was fairly empty for 7 on a Saturday night, so no problem getting in. Waited a while before a server finally showed up. He wasn’t sure if we were his table(he told us this) but he got us some beverages. He had an arm in a sling, but he still managed to wait on us. We ordered the calamari and beet salad to start. Both were really good. I ordered a martini which was served slightly chilled. I enjoyed the drink itself. I ordered the crab pasta special which was very disappointing. Not that it wasn’t good, but it was $ 30, a small potion and something I could have made at home. They didn’t have enough homemade noodles, so I got the store bought kind with a light butter sauce and a few pieces of crab. My husband got the shrimp scampi which was $ 24 and almost an identical dish. Overall this dinner just wasn’t worth $ 100, and I wouldn’t return unless it was just for drinks and appetizers.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend, so we decided to check it out on an early Sunday supper. The signage was very small, we walked passing it the first time. It’s early and cold rainy day, so not too many people inside. We were all very hungry, so we ordered 4 appetizers: calamari fritti, Spanish salad, sesame pawns, and special of the day deep fried Pizza dough with truffle honey. Sesame pawns was the star of this round. It had the best flavor and very tasty. I loved the calamari and didn’t care for fried capers. For main courses: Wild shrimp scampi, Spaghetti Pomodoro added two meat balls and special of the day Dungeness crabs with spaghetti. All were excellent with lovely flavor. I don’t like spaghetti with heavy sauce so I was delighted when spaghetti came with very light sauce and it’s cooked to perfection Al dente. We were so full, we didn’t get any deserts.

Just had a great meal with the family. Food was amazing and the staff took great care of us. This place gets overlooked because it isn’t the hot new joint, but I would highly recommend you give this Alberta classic a try.

Pasta is amazing. Dessert is amazing. So good. Not cheap but you really do get what you pay for. Also, bartender is great. Good happy hour!

Ciao VIto is a great place for a quiet dinner or late night. We had the pork chop and ragout — both excellent. Nice wine selection.

Love it for happy hour — great prices. spaghetti aglio e olio is my favorite here. Although at times it has been a little oily. Dinner menu can get a bit pricey Great place for an intimate date

Great restaurant, great food and awesome drinks. We had a party of 7 and everything was absolutely fantastic. I had a fantastic polenta w/pork rague and it was so tender and seasoned just perfect. We also started with a caprese type salad and the tomatoes and cheese just melted in your mouth. I would definitely recommend this. Give it a try, they take reservations so it makes it even more perfect.

Went here last night it was a great time! Good food and wonderful service. The beet salad with the ricotta cheese was to die for. My husband isn’t about healthy appetizers but he absolutely loved that salad. It wasn’t too busy lots of open tables but if you have a large party you might want to call ahead for a reservation. Going again tonight! Ciao Vito!

Unfortunately after returning a couple times in the last year there seems to have been a big shift in the quality of food here. Service is still pretty on point and professional but the quality of food to price has somehow vastly diminished.

The food here is far from perfect. While the beet salad was delicious, our steak and accompanying veggies had an unpleasant char, everything was overly salted, and I’m convinced that was garlic out of a jar on our prawns(it had that very familiar and terrible too bitter with a side of preservatives taste). But I appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the very attentive service. Sometimes what you really need is the off the beaten path place where you can sit down right away on a Saturday night and still enjoy a good glass of wine with your sweetie. And perhaps some imperfect food is a perfectly good sacrifice made to have such an evening. So Ciao Vita made me very happy*. *Except for that garlic from of a jar thing. That’s just plain wrong. Like really, really wrong.

This place is always incredible, even after so many years. Had the chicken saltimboca and spinach polenta last night and it was a dream. Best Italian food we’ve found this far in the city, and we’ve been around the block. We’ve been coming to Ciao Vito on and off for the last 8 years. Always a tremendous experience. Great service and stellar food. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite restaurant! I have been coming here happily for more than 7 years. The food is great and my personal favorite is the Ceasar Salad and the Ragu. This is a great spot for date night with the wonderful dim lit mood lighting and also for a family dinner during the week or for a celebration. Everything made is done with care and attention to detail and the staff is so happy to help customize your dining experience for special diets like vegetarian, gluten free or even vegan. Please try them out and support a local independently owned business with local and fresh food.

This is strictly a review of the bathroom off the bar area. It’s super-cool. It’s dark-ish and features red string lights on the walls, plus groovy clear bulbs with twisty filaments on either side of the mirror over the sink. Last night it was very warm inside and it felt almost like a small, private sauna. There’s a nice little marble-top, wooden table in there, too. Yes, was a fine visit to Ciao Vito’s loo. Almost makes me forget why I even went in there!
