I enjoy good wings and am a fan of FOTM, but the lines and seating can be a pain. I was excited to learn of a new wing joint in the neighborhood when Clay’s opened up this window. There’s not much on the menu. It’s pretty much wings, that’s it. But when you want wings, you want just wings. I was expecting pretty good wings having had the smoked wings at Clays, but I was even more impressed with the fried wings that are at the shack. The sauce options are quite good. There’s no mega-hot-inferno-el-jefe-nuclear-meltdown option here. The hottest sauce isn’t going to kill you, it’s just plain tasty. Yes it has heat, but the flavor is what counts. That makes me a fan. The rest of the sauces are quite good as well with a spicy barbeque and a pesto. Lastly, the guys there are personable and make you want to keep coming back. It’s an enjoyable experience every time.
