I’ve always had great food and friendly service here. My favorites are the spicy chicken and the galbi. I get the spicy chicken not so much for the spiciness but the flavor(ie don’t expect it to be super spicy). The galbi has always been cooked well and with good char(so good). I’ve never experienced undercooked meat like another Unilocaler mentioned. If you’re looking for quick food and large portions for cheap prices, look no further! Also, I learned recently that the DMV moved into the same strip mall. Makes Joy an easy choice if I get hungry while waiting at the DMV.

Food is fast, cheap, and tasty. Sauces are a little sweeter and more heavily applied than I would like, but a step up from Panda Express. The veggies in my stir fry were crisp and fresh, but quite oily. My husbands Teriyaki chicken was large and only $ 5. Can’t complain for something so quick and cheap.

The vegetables weren’t steamed at all! Lack of Teriyaki Sauce. Rice was okay, not sticky like some Teriyaki Places I’ve been to!

RUDE Employees!!! Avoid this location & drive a few blocks to the Glisan one. They must think their Sauces are GOLD because they give you ONE with a To-Go Platter & charge for EACHADDITIONAL sauce, if they were ATLEASTPOLITEABOUTIT– I wouldn’t be so irritated! Today is the LASTTIME I EVERGOTOTHIS Joy Teriyaki location!!!

This is hands down one of my favorite teriyaki places around! They give you large portions of meat, and two full scoops of rice(Brown rice is available) all For a generous $ 8. Can’t beat it! I usually have leftovers so It will be lunch the next day! The employees are very helpful and kind as well!

We came to this restaurant based on Unilocal reviews but we’re very disappointed– both the veggie teriyaki and soba chicken had SOMUCH cabbage that it overwhelmed the flavor of the dish! Yes, you receive large portions, but 2⁄3 of it is cabbage. A variety of vegetables is what makes stir fry appealing.

I ordered chicken teriyaki for $ 7.25 and it was the best meal I’ve had for that price! Even my husband agrees with me. He had beef teriyaki and loved it!

Great price, big portions, friendly staff. I had the miso soup as well as chicken and pork teriyaki with rice and a salad. Everything tasted great! I will go again to try other stuff on the menu.

Great food for the price. Definitely coming back to try other items on menu. The last person complaining is totally wrong about the customer service here.

I couldn’t even understand what the lady was mumbling as she answered the phone and wasn’t sure if she was trying to greet me or put me on hold. One word replies are not what customers want to hear. I didn’t even place an order because of this.

My boyfriend and I head in there on our walks to get our daughter to sleep during the day probably a good 2 times a week. We love the pork and chicken with rice! It’s always delicious, and you cant go wrong with a side of teriyaki sauce, prices are pretty decent too. I would highly recommend this place, you can call in your order and pick it up when you get there for convenience and fast service.

Great low key, no hassle lunch or dinner place. No frills, just meat or stir fry, rice, and a simple iceberg salad. Easy to call ahead and pick up your order. So far, everything we’ve ordered was really delicious. I personally like white meat so appreciate that you can order chicken breast specifically; they do charge a little more for it. The plates are around $ 7.50−9.50. We’ve had the: –Gyoza plate(come with 10 pieces of gyoza and rice) –Mongolian beef –Orange chicken breast katsu(really good) –Chicken Katsu –Beef yakisoba(noodles were nice and chewy and comes with one scoop of rice) –Beef teriyaki The super combo was a great way to try out 3 items, $ 11.25 Have been back twice in one week.

Joy teriyaki, one of the best teriyaki restaurants in Gresham. Their well cooked spicy chicken and steamed rice will definitely satisfy your taste buds. Definitely worth stoping by.

So just stopped in to grab a quick to-go order before they closed. Rushed in to find out that they actually close at 9:30 which was nice since it was just a few minutes before 9. The older gentleman working and the young girl who made the food were both extremely polite and chatted with me when I came in. I ended up ordering two chicken teriyaki bowls and a side of the gyoza(potstickers). The total time from walking in the door until I left was maybe ten minutes and I spent about $ 15 tip included. Sadly they didn’t have any California rolls left so I settled for the gyoza. Unfortunately they forgot my sides of Sriracha(good thing we have a little in the fridge!) But other than that, everything is great! I’m saving the meal for a little later but I tried one potsticker which are super flavorful and yummy and the teriyaki chicken is amazing! Super moist, tender, and filled with flavor! Not to mention, the portion size is great, the bowl is packed with chicken and rice. I just wish I had Sriracha and a little more teriyaki sauce): Definitely worth stopping in! Stopped in for round two!(Next day) Decided on a #24(California rolls and miso soup) for $ 7.50. Delicious! The rolls are huge, which makes eating them tricky but they’re delicious! And the miso soup is perfect! Flavorful, unique, HOT, and yummy all around. Also tried my friend’s kimchi and it was awesome, house made and flavorful! Yum!

Quick… yes. Fresh… Kinda. What I wanted when I got home… NO! Just moved to the area and don’t know what’s good or not around me yet. Was working all day and by 830pm realized I hadn’t ate. Looked to see what was within reason to drive to for take out. My mom had told me this place was good & that my God Parents order party portions for their get togethers so I decided to order here. Called in an order for spicy chicken breast yakisoba. Got there paid(I guess spicy and getting CB is extra). Got home and wouldn’t ya know it… not spicy… at all. How do you take an order and repeat it not only over phone but in the customers face as they are paying and not get the order THECUSTOMER paid extra for? The extra mild teriyaki sauce and noodles were good. And I Added some heat at home. The chicken was dry though and the some of the veggies were good other veggies were under cooked. The taste and noodles were good so I may give them another chance when I’m in a bind(hopefully they can redeem themselves)

Dropped in here on a Friday afternoon around 11. The place was jam packed by 11:30. The food was great. The service quick! I had the yakisoba chicken with jalapeños. And the wife. Had rice soba with tofu. It was all excellent and a great value!

Nothing makes me like a good teriyaki joint near work with a bangin’ lunch special! Under $ 7 gets me some gyoza and chicken teriyaki with rice. If I’m feelin’ fancy, I’ll tack on a $ 1 miso(which is pretty good too). This place is one of those hole in the wall joints that’s constantly busy before, during and after lunch. There’s not a ton of seating so if you want to eat i, you’re just going have to chance it. That’s usually a sign of a good place — oh, and they sell their sauce at Safeway even! The menu has the classics — Teriyaki in all kinds of meats — as well as spicy options, noods, sushi salad, soups, etc. So far I haven’t tried a single thing there I haven’t enjoyed. If you are feeling super duper hungry, snag a bento box! The miso is some of the best I’ve ever had for $ 1. Service is fairly quick, it’s cheap and did I mention yum? If you are taking it to go, ask for extra sauce or use some off the table before you go out. They’re kinda stingy on that aspect.
