Well, I can’t lie, I had pretty low expectations for this place. I thought the name was going to be representative of the fact that my friends were actually able to drag me down here. However, upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with what I soon encountered. Unlike many of the«go-to» joints in Portland, this place is as not cliché as one would assume. It’s a Saturday night at 11pm and the ambient noise level does not require one to talk above just a normal level. I don’t find myself yelling at the person next to me just to hold a conversation. The service has been delightfully quick and the drinks are not overly watered down or anything. I don’t find myself spending my entire paycheck on drinks or food, which works for me as I make very little monies in the first place. The crowd here is kind of what you would expect of a Northwest Portland bar crowd, slightly higher class than a dive bar and you don’t find yourself checking to make sure your wallet hasn’t been stolen all night long. There are plenty of pool tables upstairs to accommodate the most avid of billiard players and the fact that people watching don’t interfere with play is pretty nice as well; lord knows I’ve been to plenty of places where a drunken ass stumbles into me as I’m preparing to sink the 8 ball(yes, I’m that good lol). I can’t complain too much about this establishment because it probably won’t be too hard to find a regular here who is willing to buy my drinks all night. When it comes to debunking any reputation that this place hold, all I have to say is touché to touché!

I like this place. Great happy hour and pool tables. If you are looking for a place to hang near the Pearl, you could do much worse than Touché.

Looking for the after party… well then go to Touché when you are in Portland. Head straight upstairs because no one will greet you at the host desk late night. Pool table inside, upstairs bar, cool cocktails… just a nice late night spot to hand out. If you need a pick me up, order the Spanish Coffee. It is the BOMB!

Never going back! Sitting there right now at 2 am with my hubby and they came to table and said do r fall sleep at the restaurant! First of all didn’t fall sleep! Second of all learn how to speak you rude waiter! Cory, you are rude and this place will lose a returning customer!

Doesn’t look too great when you drive by. But it all changes once you take a seat. Service is very polite and fast. Food is upper quality. Deck with a fire pit was a party of its own. Really fun social environment.

I was really impressed with the space and the vibe of the restaurant but I was disappointed with the food. I ordered the lasagna and my husband ordered a pizza. Both dishes were incredibly greasy. My lasagna was way too cheesy and there was barely any meat or marinara sauce. My husband’s pizza was missing tomato sauce as well. We won’t be back.

Amazing amazing amazing! I don’t understand why people give this place poor reviews. Coming from Chicago, we were surprised that most places close at 9. A waitress at a nearby place recommended Touché for a late dinner. We had a server, Adam who was absolutely amazing! Professional, kind, delightful and just a pleasure to be around. He took care of our group of 9 girls while being the only waiter/bartender in the restaurant at that time. We tried most of the menu. and loved it all. Pizza w/arugula and prosciutto, baked feta, lamb kebabs, GF pasta, alfredo pasta, etc. etc etc. I could go on. The food was delicious and freshly made. The drinks were tasty and strong! Adam is a phenomenal bartender. The ambiance of the place is also very relaxing and neat for a night out with the girls. Thanks to our first night, we closed out our trip by dining here again. The place closes late for those who like a late night out! Thanks Touché(!!) for being a memorable part of our bachelorette trip!

This was quite a nice place. I came here with my parents for happy hour, and it wasn’t busy at all. The hostess girl was really nice, and so was the server! They both actually had… personalities. Imagine that. You don’t see that very often anymore(people who actually know how to work in a restaurant). Anyway, we all ordered off the happy hour menu. I got breadsticks and their minestrone soup. Breadsticks were served with marinara which tasted really fresh. The breadsticks themselves were fluffy like doughnuts and delicious. I would say they could be a little more garlic-y… but they were really really good. The soup was really excellent, too. Also tasted like it was homemade. My dad had this strange salad… that had pepperoni in it? It was interesting. Not really my thing, but he really enjoyed it. The happy hour menu is a really good way to go. I don’t know how good the other regular menu items are… but they are a little pricey. If you want a nice cheap(er) dinner, I would recommend coming here! They have some interesting dishes… some were greek. They have gyros(which my mom got. She got one with lamb. She said it was pretty good)! I didn’t see what other kinds of food they have. I know they have some pastas though. Come check this place out!

Affordable, large portions, very substantial late night menu(which is amazing when we work a late swing shift). There’s a nice ambiance in the main dining area, we have yet to sit outside or go upstairs but plan to check it out! The drinks are very good, a little strong, and the service is always friendly and relatively quick(honestly i wouldn’t want pasta in 5 minutes anyway) and they have a nice gluten free penne — score!

This place is awesome! The food is great and affordable. Everything came out pretty fast and my calzone was HUGE. The staff were friendly and atmosphere is laidback. Happy Hour menu offerings are pretty good. I think a Groupon is available right now so grab one and check it out!

This place has a great happy hour. Goes on all days Sunday’s. Good beers on draft, and a dollar off on Sunday’s. We got the garlic prawn app and that was amazing, and the Margherita pizza off the happy hour menu and that was just as good. Overall Had a lovely experience and would definitely come back. Was a little surprised to see it as empty as it was. Maybe it was just a bad time?

The upstairs bar is large and has several pool tables. I have not had dinner here in many years but recently had happy hour food in the bar. I ordered the chicken gyro and Caesar salad. The chicken was cubed. Not the best way to serve meat in a wrap. It was too dry also. The Caesar was lacking dressing. I ordered a side of dressing. It still didn’t have that great Caesar dressing flavor most of them do. Lackluster on those food choices. I probably wouldn’t go here over another similar restaurant.

85 minutes to get our food. Not joking. Filet mignon was burned. We asked for med well. They said that was the reason for the delay. So we get to starve in order to get burned meat costing us 30 bucks including tip. Chicken dish was dry and flavorless. Beet salad was tiny for the money, oh, and don’t call it beet salad if there are hardly any beets. Arugula salad would be more appropriate. It was an appetizer yet didn’t come out for 85 min like the rest of the food. Friends happy hour lasagna was ok. Perhaps the best and yet a fraction of the cost of the other dishes. Bill was $ 60 and a total waste of money for us. We still tipped the waiter 15% because it’s the cook who is the one not very good at his/her craft, but in retrospect, I wish we hadn’t because he didn’t comp anything when we nicely mentioned the issues and he could have checked in on the cook during those 85 minutes, perhaps mentioning the need to please get the food out, and checked in on us as well.

I came here on a Saturday for a really late dinner(around 10pm). The atmosphere is definitely my favorite part! I love the outdoor seating, the brick walls & the overall elegance that Touché exudes. Since it was late, my friend & I seated ourselves and were promptly greeted by a waiter. The waiter was a really strange guy but it added a little comedic value to our visit so I can’t complain. I ordered the chicken entrée & I have to say, I was a little disappointed. The carrot & mashed potatoes sides were better than the chicken itself. The seasoning just wasn’t my taste. I definitely wouldn’t splurge on the chicken again(my bill ended up being $ 30 for just me), but I would be open to possibly trying their happy hour or one of their Italian plates since that’s what they specialize in. Overall, the food just didn’t live up to the standard of the ambiance.

A really late but enjoyable dinner with no large crowd, so I had great service and attention! The restaurant is housed in a former 1906 firehouse, with already there, for me, is 80% of the charm. not to mention the way its inerior is decorated. Lovely! I grabbed a chicken and artichoke heart pizza and a huge glass of Pinot, which ended up being such a nice double pour(thank you, server!) The pizza was packed with ingredients, but frankly, crust needed help. It pooled and dipped in the center, which is another pet peeve. It’s cool everywhere here. Great space, wonderful biz idea for upstairs, and lucky for them, being abutted to the 405. they get access to TWOPARKINGLOTS for ease of coming here. Opens late, typical menu, I’d say. I can’t divulge, but I got a steal o a dinner here!

This place is my go-to when I’m in town. Since I left Portland, many of the local restaurant employees, tend to mash up at this place. Not only is there delicious food, snacks and plenty of wine/beer/cocktail to choose from, there is also an entire second floor with a pool table setting and separate bar. You could walk into something that looks semi casual to a whole other level that looks entirely relaxed. Trust me, do it and just walk up stairs to take a peek. Their calamari is to die for. This is the one place where I love their calamary, salted w/capers. Just the best flavor. Their mediterranean dish is served w/soft pita bread, and homemade hummus, baba g, olives, onions and tomato. That was my dinner! Others had the chicken parm and lasagna. The Lasagna was much too cheesy, but was good in flavor. Back up 5 years ago, and I remember the best assortment of wine glasses. I remember especially their pinto noir wide bottom/triangular shaped glass. I’m soooo bummed they stopped stocking up on nice wine glasses. It was sort of their signature. Travel just passed 13th street and stop in. During the winter or summer, there’s an outdoor fire pit and outside seating. Oh Touché, I’ve missed you and my nighttime gatherings post restaurant hours. Management, you can thank Daniel(bartender in portland) who showed me this place back in the day.

This is one of my favorite places to go for late night happy hour, and by late night, I mean they’re open and running until about 2:00 in the AM. Whenever I’m out getting drinks downtown, Touché’ usually ends up being the place I end my night. They have restaurant style seating with a full bar downstairs, with a lounge type of area upstairs set up with multiple pool tables and a mini bar. You can order food both downstairs and upstairs. Their Happy Hour menu is filled with excellent and very cheap food options, such as a $ 3.00 lam or chicken Gyros, Falaffel, $ 5.00 pizzas which are excellent, and $ 7.00 pasta plates such as lasagna and spaghetti bolognese . I always get the lamb gyros and a pizza. Deeeeeeeeeeeelicious. I have never ordered from their regular menu items so I’m not one to judge there. I don’t think there are drink options on their happy hour menu, but I’m usually already drunk by the point I’m here and their excellent food menu makes up for it.
