Camouflaged in the back corner of the pod, this truck is a gem! The spicy Tuna Poke, served with hot rice and fresh, crunchy seaweed is a delight. Beautiful for gazing, ultimately filling and most cleanly satisfying. They however really need a big sign with an arrow to catch the public eye as the green truck just blended in with the nearby foliage on this sunny day. It has its own picnic table and the tunes were just right for a mellow delicious lunch.

Zenbu, the delicious beast that it is, decided to sprout another cart that is just as tasty the original. Strangely, it’s just around the corner from the original location, right in the food cart pod area. I’m not complaining though, it just makes my visits to Sellwood even more enjoyable. Zenbu 2(With A Vengeance) offers up some damn fine Hawaiian poke and curry. A taste of the tuna poke and I was back in Oahu. The kalua pork was tender and flavorful on its own, but amplified tenfold by the accompanying coconut sauce. The seaweed salad is an intense with sesame yet refreshing. The only lackluster item on my plate was the mac salad, which was a bit… wet for my taste. 808 Grinds still holds the award for best mac salad in town. I’d give Zenbu 2 the kalua pork award though, hands down. Same(snarky) friendly staff, and now they take credit(at both locations)! Be warned Zenbu 2 is slightly more expensive than the original, but I’d say it’s also slightly more filling for the price. You honestly can’t go wrong with either location, you just need to decide whether you want Japanese/Pan-Asian or Hawaiian fare.
