I was in Poughkeepsie for a wedding and I wanted to get my hair styled, but I was a little nervous because I’d never been to this salon before. Felicia worked with me and I was beyond thrilled with the results. I told her what I wanted and she immediately knew what to do, and definitely *got* my hair right away (it’s fine and super-​straight, and I wanted it to be full with curls). I loved how it turned out and got lots of compliments. The salon itself is very cute, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely make an appointment with Felicia the next time I’m in Poughkeepsie for an event.

My visit a few months ago was the first time I’ve left a salon truly happy with the results. Claudia took the time to hear my ideas and was honest about what would work with my hair. Not only the cut but the color were both on point and the cut was one that I could easily style myself at home. Couldn’t be happier! Will definitely be coming back!

Went here once with husband to pamper ourselves. This is actually an old review as we went sometime in 2014, just haven’t gotten around to posting, probably since I was not impressed with the service for the price we paid. We have been to a multitude of day spas/​massage services and this was just ok compared to others. Before going i did read some Unilocal reviews and so was on the fence about the service. When we arrived the front desk was busy and we stood there for a while before anyone just said ‘hi’ so if that is the first impression then i presume everything else will be down hill from there. We got mani-​pedi and it was ok if i was at just your run-​of-​the-​mill nail salon but for a day spa i expected more for the money. I’ve been to nail salons that really get-​in-​there and give you a foot and leg massage, get the dead skin off, and junk from under your nails. I could of did a better job at home. This place is too lack-​luster even if the price was lower would probably find someplace else to go.

I am very skeptical with salons because i have very difficult hair to deal with. I had an appointment with Claudia she was fantastic, but the other girls helped with my hair and they were fantastic as well. The price was not bad at all I got highlights and a trim. The salon is very cute and modern, I felt comfortable and cant wait to go back! I have been recommending this salon and spa to everyone. I don’t agree it deserves any low ratings. The girls work hard and work as a team which I have never seen happen at a salon to be honest. Give it a try I sure was not disappointed at all.

Great hair cut! Felicia did a super job! Great Price. Felicia spent over an hour and a half washing, cutting and styling my hair. She cut texture and style into my long thick hair. It is like any thing else — the person doing the job makes the difference — Felicia did a job worth more than the price, and I gave her good tip. She listens to what the customer wants and spends time making the customer happy — what more could you ask for!

Had a great experience last weekend at Marlene Weber Day Spa — I was going to a wedding and I had my hair and makeup done and my daughters both had their hair done
People greeting us were very pleasant and it was 8:30 am on a Saturday — each of us had wonderful professionals performing the services and at very reasonable prices
If we are ever in the area again I would definitely go back

I am updating my review since I went back for spa services. I had a glycolic treatment facial and it was awesome. My skin felt lush and moisturized for many days to follow and I received so many compliments on my complexion following my treatment. The room was really clean, quiet and I felt so relaxed and comfortable there. I would definitely recommend their skin services to anyone, I wish I were able to treat myself more often! It made such a huge difference in my skin complexion and condition. I will definitely be going again!

My sister and I went for a spa day visit and had a terrific time. The spa is spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. They were very helpful on the phone making the appointments, and texted the day before to confirm. We were greeted warmly and brought to the changing area and then their waiting area. Our appointments started on time and we agreed the massage therapists were both fantastic. Then we had our facials and we enjoyed both of those. My sister got the glycolic peel and was especially pleased with Sara. We were brought upstairs for our side by side pedicures and relaxed with champagne. The two young women were very personable and did a great job. The four of us chatted and the time flew by. Since there were no customers waiting, they had us relax in place with our champagne and talk as long as we wanted. Check out was easy and smooth. We also liked the location as it was easy to get a bite to eat right there.

I have really made every effort to try to like this place as it’s one of the few spas we have in the area but I have to say that my recent experience was finally my last.
First off, would it kill the front desk staff not to be so snotty? This is a common theme with many reviews and unfortunately it’s true! I’ve yet to encounter anyone with a pleasant demeanor.
That said, my most recent visit was for a hot stone massage and despite the fact that the hot stone is my favorite treatment ever, let’s just say that this one was less than stellar. The person who performed my massage was clearly under the weather and should not have been working that day (the liter of orange juice sitting in the room should have been my first clue). She was huffing and puffing through my entire massage and kept stopping for drinks of orange juice. At one point she actually left the room to «get some air.» I was so nervous about catching whatever she was sick with that I couldn’t even relax for a minute. The whole ordeal was very disappointing and just a complete and utter waste of $ 100+. Sorry Marlene Weber but I’m going to Buttermilk next time!

Not sure why others rated so low. The salon spa is very clean and inviting. It has a unique layout, which I like. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. There aren’t many high-​end spas in Dutchess County (I’ve been to them all now), and Marlene Weber is one of the best. Their prices are competitive (and cheaper than Westchester salons).
My only complaint is with the receptionists. In person, they are charming and helpful. However, when you call they always seem annoyed, rushed, or rude. Other, than that, I really enjoy this spa.
Bring cash for tips.

My experience was definitely meh. I came in for a glycolic peel and an eyebrow waxing. The technician was extremely knowledgeable. The facial itself was magnificent BUT the eyebrow waxing was a different story. She did the waxing first and she ripped off skin underneath my eyebrow! The wax was not hot and I do not use any skincare products besides moisturizer and sunscreen. This should not be happening for $ 20 and it took about 2 weeks to heal. I tried this spa on a whim and I probably won’t be back.

This spa was ok. I went with my Mom for her 50^th birthday about 2 years agao and we had a side by side massage. The worker at the desk was very short but the women doing our treatments were lovely. We had a snack and a neck wrap, hand treatment and foot treatment before the massage. My Mom really enjoyed the day which was the most important thing but the massage really wasn’t good. Pressure was way too light. I think the «Meh. I’ve experienced better» is a good description for my experience. My Mom has been there a couple more times and keeps just saying it was ok.

Overall the service was good with a few snafus and the appearance and cleanliness of the spa was better then most. When we arrived early to the salon (at their request) they were unprepared for us and a litlle disorganized for a party of 7 gals, and said they never had a bridal party that was on time before. We didn’t actually get started for a good half hour to 45 mins late, which is frustrating when you’re on a schedule. Lori did my hair and make up for my wedding and I was more then pleased. She did exactly as I asked and everything was perfect. The other girls in my bridal party were very happy with their stylists/​make up artists.
The spa over charged me for gratuity but were quick to refund my money.
I also had a mani pedi there the day before which was very relaxing, so I highly reccommend their other services.
I probably won’t be going back only because I don’t live in the area.
