Isn’t just me, or has the staff here become exceedingly rude? The people here used to be pleasant and actually seemed to appreciate us customers who bought their overpriced drinks. Recently, though, the employees have been downright surly. There are plenty of other places to buy coffee; I’ll be going to one of them from now on.

So let me start off by saying that I’ve never had a problem with Starbucks and always order a mocha frappé. This past Saturday I went to this location with my sister and it was just awful. it tasted like watered down burnt coffee so my sister walked in and told them it tasted bad one of the baristas, kiera rudely called my sister high maintenance for«complaining» about our drinks they made it a second time it was just as bad but darker in color. I’m not ever going here again. Super unwelcoming and rude.

The staff made me a believer! I always thought Starbucks was over priced. Avoided the locations like the plague. TILLNOW. Been working in the area for a bit now(about since May) Starbucks is right across the way in Poughkeepsie across from Marist college. I’m not a fancy coffee drinker haven’t quite got the Starbucks lingo yet. But I’m a card caring member now. Why the staff. They are extremely friendly and always a fun group on what ever shift. I have a job that makes me cross over Different shits. The friendly atmosphere carries over all shifts. Even got this old man coffee drinker trying new flavors. I’m real surprised to read some many bad reviews. Yes the get busy beyond belief at times. Yet I never once didn’t see the lines clear quickly. Heck the have a major college campus directly across the way and a big place I. The same lot. To boot major hospitals right around the corner. Folks need to understand patience is a virtue anymore. One can only do so much and staffing is always quests work when it comes to meeting corporate payrolls. I give the staff 5 stars for handling themselves everyday here. I there about twice a day now till my job moves. Thanks staff you great.

Found a recipe online for how to order Butterbeer, was extatic to find the guy knew exactly what I was talking about. They were friendly and made it perfectly. Tasted just like I was in Hogwarts, lmao. I’ll be back, for sure… just wish the prices weren’t so insane.

Got to the store, the power is out. Manager comes out to say she is checking what’s up. We wait 10 minutes. She walks right past us in to the store, comes up to the window and tapes a closed sign up. Not a word to us, not even eye contact, just tapes it up and walks away. I can’t believe how disrespectful that was. We were waiting to make a purchase from you. Having a power outage is fine, but ours no excuse yo be rude. Especially considering the great experiences I am used to from this chain.

I got a java chip frapp here once last semester as a treat during finals and it tasted like burnt coffee, none of my friends would drink it because it was so disgusting. But I tried it again afterwords because I thought that drink might have been a one time thing. I went in and ordered a specialty coffee not long after. Then a man walked in and ordered a plain coffee and the barista looked point blank at me and said«since you ordered the easiest thing to make, it’s free, some people like to waste my time». Are you serious? You work at Starbucks. And my drink was yet again disgusting.

I’ve come to find that several of their employees are all douche bags and subtly rude. And its not the common«Fast Food» rude either; such as rolling the eyes, or forgetting the napkins on purpose. No… no… But as if they have created an entirely new breed of poor customer service altogether! Just because they work at «STARBUCKS» and put on a green apron everyday they misconstrue the title of «coffee maker» and somehow turn it into«artisan»; making them feel like they have«class»,(even though we all know they make minimum wage just like everybody else!). But somehow… in some way… this newfound alter ego causes them to feel the need to all treat their customers like small aging animals at a petting zoo… like they’re better than us and as if were all dumber than the the girls in scary movies who go looking for the killers.

This wass almost like watching a bad movie. The servers calling each other names and one person making coffee while 3 others sat bickering. I witnessed one customer ask for his coffee that was done and the server was so rude. They should be glad the name sells the product.

I’m not from Poughkeepsie, but I just as well could be. My in-laws live here. This place is my go to escape place from my in-laws crazy house! The dude behind the counter is always here! He seems nice enough, he seems to run a tight ship!

The experience I had today at this location was baffling. I walked in and stood by the counter while the two employees at the registers carried on a conversation that was completely unrelated to work. I know they saw me because they kept looking at me and continued their conversation, but it wasn’t until I said«excuse me» that they paid any sort of attention to me. The lack of customer service that this location allows is why they no longer have my business.

Coffee is good but the staff is laughably rude in its non-verbal gestures. When handed ground coffee, the staff averted her glance. I surmise this has something to do with their hair being pulled too tight.

This Starbucks gets points for location, location, location… across from Marist, down the road from the Culinary, along Route 9 for commuters. They also have a decent amount of seating. But for me personally… meh. I was a bigger fan of this Starbucks when they had a wider line of coffee beans from which to select, compared to now where it’s primarily their own blends. They do have a good selection of Tazo teas.

Good location in the Home Depot lot directly across the street from Marist, never a bad experience here though it does lack a drive thru. Service generally fast, and coffee good and strong. I want to go to there.

This is NOT a review of Starbucks«in general» — I am a big fan and think their coffee and espresso drinks are delicious. This is a very specific review of this location on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, which after trying maybe 10 times in the past 6 months, I’m at the point where I will NEVER go back. Try the Fishkill location — excellent, they always make my drink right. Route 44? Go for it — you won’t be disappointed. Heck, even the Starbucks I stop at on the Thruway aren’t half bad. This location is the absolute WORST Starbucks I have ever been to — like I said, 10 times, and not once have they managed to make my drink correctly. It’s not that tough. Triple venti nonfat latte. That’s all. Making it wrong once or twice, no big deal, everyone makes mistakes, right? But when I’m paying $ 5 for a drink, and then you give me a grande single latte(w/regular milk too, but that’s not as much a big deal.)? Really? Or you give me some weird flavor in there that I most definitely did not ask for? Sooo frustrating. I don’t know if it’s incompetence on the part of the staff, or if it is just that they are woefully understaffed — every time I have been there in the morning rush, there is a line 15 deep to the door and there are 2 — maybe 3 — people total working. Avoid this location and go to one of the many others around.

Coffee does not get any better than this. Nuff said
